Monstress.
I don't think I can explain.
She's dead and unlike most dead comic book heroes I think she's going to stay that way.

XS in a Flash or Kid Flash costume would kick booty, Thunder might be pretty popular with the non-Legion fans that watch the 'toon, I would really really really love to see Laurel Gand show up, Dawnstar would be way cool with a "power up" and I'd be tickled to see Supergirl smack Superman X around.

Even Kono was great for a few minutes.

Ooh! XS could be good; a little bit more diversity is always appreciated--but no obvious Flash connection, please (sorry, Yellow Kid). Also, if Timber Wolf weren't on the team, I could see Catspaw working, particularly given the creators' penchant for re-working less-succesful characters (see: Imperiex). Kinetix would also be nice.

i think XS would be great. you have some mysterious flash impersonator running around (literally!) saving livings and stuff. Superman, who has met Kid Flash once or twice in the 20th century or something, catches up to her. the writers could easily explain that she's a direct descendant and not have to get into time travel complexities or whatever. then she either goes her merry way as an independent super hero or joins the legion!

she doesn't have to be the XS from the comics either. Jenni could be a bit of a JLU:Flash and Impulse combo, witty and fast talking plus silly and fun. Supes could mentor her a bit, and BAM! there's your character.

plus, it's Jenni. everyone loves her!

What's so "icky" about girls? In about 10 years these same brats will probably be begging a girl for a date.

Two words: Wendy Testaburger

(For explanation, check out recent (girl-free) episodes of South Park, and then check out the preview for this week's episode on their website.)

I think too many people in this thread are thinking power=strength. That is rarely the case. Power is not the end of everything. I doubt we get it this season, but I would love to see a Legion episonage squad episode.

Got to see today's ep, and noticed that a good third of the advertisements were for Barbies and other 'girl stuff.' If the show is being demographically geared towards a 'girls are icky' set, and I'm not convinced it is, they aren't exactly selling it that way to the advertisers...

In fact, given the complete shotgun approach advertising, it seems that the Legion cartoon isn't being marketed at all to advertisers, just getting whatever random 'Kids WB' advertisers show up, rather than any sort of targetting.

This is rarely a good sign, if the marketing people don't give a crap...

Given that KidsWB is handing this over to 4kids!(with likely their own marketing people) how much incentive is there for KidsWB! marketing people to put much effort in?

There will be a season 3. If the show wasn't popular it would have been pulled last season. You may not agree with this, but I think that Superman X is the determining factor in the show's success. love him or hate him he appeals to the marks. Unforntunately its the veiwers who are marks that end up determining success in cases like this and not the long time fans.

Sorry to double post, but this is the Legion. Made by DC. Too much QUALITY for them to be canceled.

Really? Mmmmm....well let's see Batman Beyond, JL/JLU, BTAS and the original Superman cartoon (in the 90s) all were very high quality shows that the axe. BB only lasted 3 seasons. Given that the Legion is much smaller in popularity than all of those shows and the fact that the it is going to be given to 4kids! (ugh.) there is good chance that there is not a season 3.

Well, rumour is that 3 seasons is the target length for an American animated series - sort of a local maximum for rerun and toy profits over production costs. (With JLU, the extra seasons were a surprise each time.)

OTOH, there are no toys around, so who knows.

Hmmmmmm, I think the girls are doing fine. They've gotten enough episodes centered around them, and even defy what they just said they couldn't do in order to kick some booty. (Ahhhhhh, memorable.)

Even Triplicate Girl (when she wasn't being Bouncing Boy'd arm candy) could pull some serious moves.

While not the first person I would have chosen for the role, Saturn Girl is turning into a heavy hitter, being able to track people through space, and blow up dozens of satellites with her mental powers.

I'm torn on that.

One part of me understands that this is a cartoon for kids of the 21st century, and that the girl Legionnaires are products of a '60s mentality, with boys having 'hard' powers and girls having 'soft' powers, which makes buffing up the girls just balancing out a pre-existing gender bias.

The other part of me has always preferred focus on characters like Dream Girl, Phantom Girl, Saturn Girl and Duo Damsel (and yes, males like Invisible Kid and Karate Kid), rather than the powerhouses. I think it's also important to stress that the existence of Superman doesn't mean that less-gifted superheroes are any less heroes. (Some might even argue that they are even bigger damn heroes, for being willing to fight the good fight despite *not* being all-powerful and indestructible!)
