I think Korbal said that Levitz has said he has a weakness as a writer, coming up with new villians. Would you like to see some of the old ones again? If so, who?
Do you have any ideas for new ones you'd like to share with us or maybe Paul?
I, personally, wouldn't mind helping him out, if it's okay. What do you think?

From the old villians I'd like to see maybe the Taurus Gang, or Dr. Mantis Morlu or the Resource Raiders - smaller scale threats that wouldn't take the whole team to defeat in a desperate battle against the odds. I'd prefer any new villians that are introduced to fall along those lines too. Nobody who wants to take over (or destroy) the galaxy. Give me crooks, evil geniuses with axes to grind and the like.

I would also like to see the Resource Raiders again and Dr Mayavale always said he would be back at some point.

I'm a big League of Super Assassins fan.
Granted, they've been utter failures as 'assassins,' like most comic-book assassins (How many people has Arcade *failed* to kill in his storied career? Why the hell do people still hire him?), so it might be better to do away with the name, make them live up to it (although I'm not a huge fan of comic-book killing...) or, gasp, redeem the misguided fools (who are, after all, a bunch of kids raised to hate the Legion by a clone of Tharok who fed them a steady diet of lies).
Dominators have gotten stale. Robotican / AI / plague / faceless alien hordes are way, way old.
Perhaps a reinvention of the Khunds, who always felt like second-rate cyborg-happy Klingons to me, or a truly sinister presentation of the Controllers (who may be violently over-reacting to the return of Green Lanterns to the universe?).

I would add the Khunds too, if it didn't involve a full-scale war. I'd like to see the Khunds trying to take advantage of the troubles in the UP through political maneuvering so we could maybe get Ambassador Relnic back in the mix. Levitz did a pretty good job with the 30th century politics back in the day.

Seriously...I have an awsome idea for the Moby Dick of Space. Alright, lsaugh if you want...it could work.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

Who's in the League of Assassins? Is that Silver Slasher's original group? If it is, Blok started as one of them, I think. Poor Slasher, with her powers, it's hard to become anything else BUT a bad-guy. I;m surprised she hasn't been snapped up by some DarkOps orginization as their wetworks specialist. After 'Farscape', Moby Dick of Space might be a good multiverse ship for the New Wanderers. He wouldn't be a villian, though.

As I said in the other thread, I would like to see villains/antagonists that illuminate the heroes -- so space pirates and Element Lad, youth gangs and Ultra Boy, The League of Super Assassins and Blok, etc.
I too want to see something other than universe-cracking cataclysms and galaxy-wide geopolitical intrigue. Bleh.
There's lots of adversarials species that it would be interesting to catch up with -- Khunds, Dark Circle, Gild'shpan (NOT Dominators) -- but Levitz will have to coordinate that with Bedard and the current R.E.B.E.Ls series (hate.typing.periods!).
I'd definitely love to see the Espionage Squad take on some web of criminal and political corruption somewhere. As long as no A.I. is involved.
Again, it would be fun to do stories that play off Legionnaires. Is crime even possible on Titan (or Naltor)? What if someone manages to commit a crime there for the first time in centuries? Is it too easy to have an alibi on Cargg when you can split into different bodies? What's the current political skullduggery on Durla or Imsk or Orando? Is Talok experiencing extremist terrorism between clans? Will Lythyl produce a new karate champion for the Legion?
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I'll be happy as long as they have names that we actually can link up to them. And identifiable visuals.
Why choose between old and new? I hope there's a mix. Unless all that counts is the opening six issues, designed for collection. Legion fans don't possibly think *that* way, do we?
If I had to pick some oldies for dusting off, I'd start with the hapless bad guys that made up Evillo's Devil's Half-Dozen. That's right- serious takes on Sugyn, Apollo, The Hag and Wild Huntsman.
Quicksand. Benn Pares. Resource Raiders (with individuals). More of those villains who once tried out for the Legion, but were rejected because they're from active Legionnaires' home planets. (Esper Lass, Magno Lad, etc.) I'd like to know the story about just how they became so evil.
Guess the Phantom Lad character toed the line off-panel.

JLA of Earth definitely. Taurus Gang is LONG overdue... maybe there's a whole syndicate of crime gangs for every zodiac sign...

I still want to see the Brain Globes of Rambat done in a very sinister way. Not "bad, mean" way. Sinister. A Grant Morrison-esque view of the Rambat race. It could work, believe me.

The Taurus Gang was the first group of oldies that came to my mind.
Roxxas is a killer of billions, he needs to be put down, with or without a trial, imo, so some group needs to go after him who will kill, and that's not the Legion.
To bad DC doesn't have a Wolverine. He may be a hero, but he's a hero who will kill.
That might be interesting, the two groups go after the same bad-guy and clash over how to do it. Maybe the Science Police continue their special unit from Superman's day, a gifted swat team that works in conjunction with the Federated Planets.
There's been something like that in the past, I think. Not the Work Force, Foccart was a part of it in the reboot, I think.

seriously, I would love to see Universo making a comeback soon. He has not been seen for a while..that L3W is an exception. Taurus Gang would be a plus! Definitely time to bring an obscure gang back. I would like to see Quanto having a connection with Dream Girl. Fatal Five is way too classic to be ignored!!! If Levitz has seen how Grimbor the Chainsman is being protrayed in the Legion cartoon, then yes he would kick the Legion's asses!

The Legionnaires should have a rematch with the only Legion villain created by their creator, Otto Binder--Oggar-Kon--heck make him into the new Progenitor, and spare Jan from a tragic fate...

Everybody favours individual, localized threats rather than galaxy-threatening disasters - me too.
I have a soft spot for thieves, so Taurus Gang, Resource Raiders, pirates and Benn Pares top the list.
You'd think after spending years in upper management, Levitz would now be able to come up with all sorts of villains.

The Legion of Corporate Criminals all sound awesome! I would add the following:
Benchmark Boy Lawsuit Lass Nepotism Ned Redundancy Roy (British of course) Synergy Sue Takeover Tom Kiss-Ass Kid and Brown-Nose Boy (a dynamic duo!) Tech Support Toady Punchclock Pete Efficiency Ethel

More seriously, I too would love to see what organized criminal gangs do in the 31C and how they do it. Super-identity theft? Whole planets addicted to illegal drugs? Teleportation kidnapping? You could use the Taurus guys as the "old school" and maybe some young hotshot dudes who are REALLY nasty.

A sentient trafficking story would be interesting... maybe with Nardo behind it?

Organized criminal gangs who out-think Brainiac 5, not because they've got more of the genius stuff, but because they think entirely differently and hit his (and other legionnaires' ) blind spots.
Sentient trafficking could fit in with the underlying plot of alien-hatred on Earth.
Dr. Mayavale deserves a comeback, written seriously, although I'd really favor an encounter with Legion 247. They seem more suited, at this point, to tackle high weirdness.
