If Dawnstar is exiled Wildfire will follow.

[/b]The biggest 'hint' I saw was him mentioning that he didn't have to worry about getting the cadence and delivery right for Gates' lines 'for a little while,' implying that something might result in Gates not getting a lot of characterization for the first few issues, but that Fabian *would* need to get his 'voice' later on. So, if Gates is going to die (and the 'hint' seemed to suggest the opposite, to me), it sounds like it's only going to last a few issues...

Or maybe Gates will be separated from the rest of the team for a few issues? Maybe the 7 will be scattered when they first jump into the past, and they'll have to get the gang back together.
Pretty interesting that out of all of them, only Tyroc and perhaps Timber Wolf could really pass for human. I wonder how large a role the visuals played in choosing the 7 Legionnaires to be "Lost".

Thanks for the encouraging words Set and IB. Gates had a heck of a time when the Legion was back in the 50's. Remember the monster poster? I just hope no one tries to smush him or put him and Tellus (and even Yera, Dawny and Wildfire) into a freak show or laboratory for 'sacreficing'! Hopefully, Wolf will stay in his human form, but I wouldn't count on it. Aren't we heading into the time when he started changing?

That is from a timeline that is nolonger valid (the same one in which Saturn Girl would be knocked up with twin girls and in which one of her sons would have spread a plague across her husband's homeworld). That doesn't have to happen this time .... and probably won't.

Do they call it 'knocked up' when one is married and it's a second pregnancy? It just sounds disrespectful to Imra, that's all.
And I agree that things may not happen the way they did last time.
But, it was in this timeline, sort of. It was before Zero Hour/the reboot, but after the Time Trapper's destruction and the Mordru Universe spell by Glorith. And this IS the retroboot.
Still, I thought it was worth mentioning because it was fun to think of what might happen if Brin started changing into Furball. Is all.

The 'retroboot' universe was created by the Infinite Crisis generation of a new multiverse. It is a completely new universe not linked in any way to the 5YG universe that was wiped out by zero hour. Timber Wolf became Furball through the events of Black Dawn which has never happened in the retroboot universe. Although the events of the glorith-verse were in many ways similar up to Magic Wars(if you ignore Kid Quantum, Valor, Laurel Gand, Triad as opposed to Superboy, Mon-El, Supergirl, Triplicate Girl), however, since then the histories have gone in completely opposite directions. Rond and RJ Brande dying and Rokk/Lydda splitting as opposed to Blok and Sun Boy dying and Rokk/Lydda marrying for example.

Yes 'knocked up' can be used for a second, third, fourth, etc. pregnancy AND whether the woman/girl/female in question is married or not. As for it being direspectful, I guess that varies from area to area. Where I am from it is just slang for pregnant with a slightly humorous conotation.

IIRC, the effects of Black Dawn seemed to be a result of the residual Zoonium in Brin's system, a condition that may well exist in the incarnation. A believe Darkseid refered to it when he said, "some princes are addicts."
PS-I had a married freind who said she got knocked up by her husband. The phrase didn't sound right at first, maybe even shocking, but I learned to appreciate the playful irreverence that was intended.

Latest interview chit-chat suggests that the Legion Lost crew 'knew it might be a one-way trip' when they signed on for the mission to the past.
Drake & Dawny joined up together. Tellus, Gates, Tyroc and Timber Wolf appear to be single.
Yera, on the other hand, is either willingly leaving behind her husband in the future, or, he's the hand-under-the-flag.
I hope Gim doesn't die, but it's getting pretty anvilicious that he does, since he's pretty much sucked and failed throughout this entire run, getting smacked down by *everyone*, and now his wife is deliberately choosing to go on a mission that requires her to never see him again...

"Hypertaxis"? Adapted from DNA's concept? Hmmmm... not sure if I'm scared or interested. There's certainly story-fodder there, but it wasn' t exactly carefully conveyed the first time.
I wonder if the 'deaths' in the solicit are that chysalis-like state? Do I see a giant butterfly-winged Gates emerging from hypertaxic chrysalis? With nippleless breasts?
Zoe should be around. I hope no other character is saddled with the character damage she was burdened with after hypertaxis's first go-round.

Well, Nicieza seems enthusiastic, I suppose that's a good thing ... I'm one of those LSH fans who prefers to keep the Legion as far away as possible from the present-day DCU, so I'm not as happy as I might otherwise be about the addition of a new LSH-related ongoing series. I'm also not thrilled at the idea that these characters are going to be isolated from the rest of the Legion, especially considering *which* characters are involved. The Legion needs *more* non-humanoid members, but now they're losing Tellus and Gates! (and we've seen very little of Quislet so far) Levitz finally seemed to be getting comfortable with Tyroc, and now he's being written out of the book again! I wonder who chose this group, and why. I find it curious that none of the old-guard Legionnaires are moving to the new book. (by "old-guard Legionnaires", I mean the ones who were members before Jim Shooter started writing Adventure Comics)
"Gee, Brainy, what do you want to do tonight?" "The same thing we do every night, Bouncing Boy: try to take over the United Planets!!" They're B.B. and The Brain ...

Would be a shame if Yera dies. She may be the most interesting supporting character the Legion has ever had. Much more so than her husband.

Rond and RJ Brande dying and Rokk/Lydda splitting as opposed to Blok and Sun Boy dying and Rokk/Lydda marrying for example.[/b]This time line hasn't reached the 5yl timeperiod since it takes place immediately after the Magic Wars. There are a few changes now that aren't normally reverseable, like Rond and RJ dying and Rond's child being born early (and being a boy rather than a girl) and Mysa being rescued from Mordru much earlier than she was before. That's why I call this timeline the retroboot. But, many of the changes could be temporary and many of the past events could still happen in similar, if not identical, ways. For example, Levitz might decide to have Dirk still sell out, or have Mysa fail to keep Mordru in check, and she is no longer able to bridge the gap physically between her and Blok so he goes into that advanced rock stage and is killed by Roxxas. In Brin's case, a similar, if not identical, catastrophe happens to him in LOST. Not Black Dawn, but something that sends his drugged system into overdrive, causing his body to morph. Any of those things may or may not happen in the Legion's future, imo.

Other contributing factors are that, for one thing, Lightning Lad is definitely NOT Proty, Titan was obliterated (it didn't play that much role except for the fact that, further into the series, Saturn Queen actually does become queen after her reform), and chances are Storm Boy won't be going into a career in meteorology or joining the Legion when they're desperate for members.

Hard landing, with Wildfire at the controls.
It's an interesting visual with Yera's arms breaking up. Do the pieces reassemble?
