First of all, I'm a sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I wasn't entirely sure where this could go...

Now to get to the point.

I've been slowly piecing together my legion collection, which now runs almost uninterrupted from Levitz's Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 3 to the present.

The only problem is that I'm missing a few issues right about the time DnA took the reigns of the Legion of Super-heroes and Legionnaires titles. The issues in question are:

- Legion of Super-heroes Vol. 4 # 118-125. (I've been able to find most of these on eBay, except for 122-125, which seem impossible to find)

- Legionnaires #71-81 (same as above, with 79-81 proving particularly difficult to find).

My question is, is there somewhere in particular I should be looking. Is there some way to find these issues? Or should I just settle on the fact that I'm not going to be able to get those.

Any help will be much appreciated, many thanks in advance!

I was gonna suggest mycomicshop.com, but they're out of all those specific issues you mentioned. You could go there, register and put them on your want list. They're good about notifuying you when things are in stock. Have you tried Mile High Comics?

I just checked.
www.milehighcomics.com has Legionnaires #71 thru 78 plus # 80 available.

www.midtowncomics.com has Legionnaires #71 & 72 available.

www.mycomicshop.com has Legionnaires # 71 thru 78 available PLUS Legion of Super Heroesv4 #119 thru 121 available.

These where just the first 3 results I got on a Google search- there where many, many more!!
I'm sure if you put a little effort into it, you could find them all. Good luck!!

Yep already checked Mile High Comics, and they are also out of those issues in particular.

I didn't know about the want list for mycomicshop.com, so I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

So far I've tried eBay, Mile High Comics, and Midtown Comics.

Generally speaking I've been able to find about everything I've ever tried to find between those three... but this seems to be the exception.

Sorry, I should specify, I'm not having trouble finding 118-121 and 71-78 so much as the rest, specifically when DnA pick up.

I just put the entire span up there because that's what is still missing.

Although I hadn't realized 80 was available on Mile High, I'm gonna have to go back and check that out, especially since I think I may have found 81 on Ebay...

Ugh... why are those six or so issues so hard to find...

I would prefer being able to get it all from one place, maybe cut down on the over all cost that way.

Well, they are pretty good, after all...and more significant than the crappy issues that came immediately before them. The print runs were probably also pretty low.

You might want to wait a while (I know it's hard!) and see how the want lists pan out. If someone sells mycomicsshop.com a collection that includes a lot of Legion books, they could all suddenly become available at once. In my experience they're never out of stock for very long on the more modern books.

Also try www.nostalgiazone.com; I found a few issues I needed (including maybe some of the same ones you're looking for!) in good condition for reasonable prices there.

the print runs of those issues were mid-bogglingly low. That's a big part of your troubles.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions/help!

I was able to find a bunch on mycomicshop.com at very decent prices too (including a bunch of the annuals)!

I also found a bunch on NostalgiaZone.com.

I can probably fill in the rest via eBay and other sources (all I'm still missing is Legion #125 and Legionnaires 79 and 81).

Could not have done it without your help! Now I can finish reading this run, and get on with the DnA Legion Lost, etc...

for what it's worth, when I was rebuilding my LSH collection 5 years ago, I had the same struggle with the tail end of both series; L-Lost, L-Words and the DnA series were much easier to fill in.

Yep, I got really good prices on L-Lost/L-Worlds too, which is funny considering how tough these issue have been... and naturally none of this has ever been collected in trades either (or has it and I'm just being ignorant... not like it would matter for the purposes of a "collection", but still)

Also, I just impulse bought the remaining issues off of eBay... so hooray! This is done!

no they really need to create a trade for: the blight, the aftermath, legion lost, and legion worlds and the Legion.

The Blight and Aftermath can go together
Legion Lost can come next
Legion worlds after it
and then The Legion

I doubt that will happen, S-S, since reboot/DnA's Legion is no longer the 'real' Legion. I am, however, surprised that DC didn't TPB all these storylines when DnA were getting so much critical acclaim for the work they were doing. It could've gone a long way toward boosting that book's sales. I think the only storyline they ever collected was "Foundations" (and maybe "Dream Crime"?), but that came FAR too late in the run.

If DC were to ever collect these stories this late in the game, it would be to try to capitalize on all the recognition DnA and Olivier Coipel get for their work over at Marvel. I don't think they will, however, because DC's never collected Mark Millar's excellent, overlooked Swamp Thing work since he became a superstar.

I think DC and the Legion would likely benefit if they focused more on publishing good stories, and not stories about what is perceived or not as the "real" Legion.

yeah they gave us the original legion when we were still thinking the earth prime legion was the new earth legion.

Amen, brother! Great stories are great stories, and DnA did some of the best work in recent memory on the propert, regardless of whether its reboot or whatever.

DC won't agree though, especially while they're trying to push the new/old version and make it viable again. Publishing trades of the reboot at this time would be seen as "muddying the brand" in their view. That's total crap, of course, because DC is constantly reprinting TONS of stories no longer in continuity in the Showcase books alone. The Reboot, at least, can claim to still technically be in-continuity as they continue to exist somewhere as the new Wanderers.

At this point I'm just hoping something is done with these Wanderers at some point. Wouldn't mind seeing more of the Threeboot Legion either. A Legion Annual or 80-Page Giant would be natural places for them to have reappearances.
