Fun poll and interesting posts. I put together a pretty visually alien group (if I remember correctly since I made a couple of changes back and forth) with Cham, Tellus, Quislet, Gates and Tinya, pretty much an ES, like a lot of others here. I'd have added Jeckie, whom I generally dislike immensely but liked in Robinson's story. With no couples, or founders. I'm a little burned out on those, at the moment. And I avoided the heavy hitters, both in the group and in who they fight against. I'm a little burned out with the usual enemies, too. I voted the all girl group because there really isn't many of those in comics. I thought people wanted Dawny to go to the X-Men for Angel's sake. And I'd have voted for Nightcrawler to come to the Legion if I'd known Marvel killed him off. Is it anyway close to permanent or just one of the many other dimension/possibility things? I really found myself attracted to Cham for a lot of my choices, which surprised me.
A singin' and a dancin' along the way.

Also, I found it funny that Nightcrawler was overwhelmingly the X-Man that everyone would put in the Legion. I mean, a blue teleporter!? Where are we ever going to find one of those? I can't believe I forgot XS

I really found myself attracted to Cham for a lot of my choices, which surprised me. Cham was my go-to choice for a solo series. His powers and personality make him perfect for that sort of thing, IMO.

I approached the X-Men / Legion questions as being "if I was reading __, who would I like to see join the team" (in other words, no shoving a character elswhere so I wouldn't have to read about them). For me, Element Lad seemed to be an awesome, different fit for the X-Men, while I naturally wanted Nightcrawler with the Legion. Legion: Espionage Squad is a dream comic for me like many others. For the best friend question I really racked me brain thinking about this! I was very close to picking Jo, to be his sorta "Pete Ross pal" figure, but then I thought Tinya would become annoying to deal with all the time. Ultimately I choose Brainy. I figure if I'm picking to be his pal, this means we can forgo the long series of awkward moments it takes to actually get there and we can get to where Brainy gets us into all kinds of zany adventure and I crack jokes and flirt with girls as he uses his 12th level intelligence to provide a solution. I could even say "Brainy, you're too smart for your own good..." whenever things go awry.

The poll is still open til Monday, but I had to make a comment here.
Despite the complaining about the Founders & Brainy being panel hops, they are the leaders in which 5 Legionnaires would you have in a live action Legion movie.

^ I think we, as readers, have just become conditioned to expecting those characters to be the leads in those types of things after seeing them take the leads in all the other TV appearances they've made and also from their spotlighting as THE Legion in most of DC's crossovers.
Also I think most people would expect the Legion's first live-action feature to be somewhat of an origin story and those four would obviously feature heavily if so.
I borderline hate those four characters (as a unit) and even I was tempted to vote for them.

For me, it's not about who I like the most, but who I think would work best for a movie....I voted for the founders as well, not so much because I love them, but just because I think it would make sense to do a Legion origin movie.

The founders and Brainy made sense, yeah. But I would have voted for Cham, Gates, Brainy and... man, it's hard NOT to vote for the three founders. But the three I named would make for stunning visuals, for sure.
I wonder if I should be happy or sad that so many people wanted Kinetix in the X-Men?
Loved the all-girl sub-group, but would have voted for the Gates, Kinetix, Bouncing Boy etc. one. Loads of entertainment there!

And while the Jo-Brin-Andromeda-Blok etc. group would have been interesting personality-wise, I think power-wise it would have been pretty boring. They're way too similar!
The Garth-Thom-Jan etc. one sounds like fun though.

And some results:
The five Legionnaires in the Live action movie (in order of votes) Lightning Lad Brainiac 5 Cosmic Boy Saturn Girl Phantom Girl So the founders and Brainiac 5 (aka panel hog) win.
And the villains with 30% of the vote would be the Fatal Five
The voting for which Legionnaire should go to the X-men was pretty spread out. Dawnstar got the most votes with 6. Wildfire & Kinetix came in second with 5 votes each.
I don't think it was a big surprize that Nightcrawler is the X-man most people (39%) wanted in the Legion. Storm and Dazzler tied for second place.
Solo series star would be Matter-Eater Lad with Wildfire, Princess Projectra, & Chameleon Boy tying for second place.
Lyle Norg is the Legionnaire most people wanted to be pals with. Matter-Eater :ad coming i second.
The following Legionnaires no one wanted to be pals with: Colossal Boy, Ferro Lad, Karate Kid, Kid Quantum, Kinetix, Magnetic Kid, Magno, Polar Boy, Shadow Lass, Star Boy, and Sun Boy.
