They're being snarky because that's the way Mr. Levitz scripts the legionairres. Always has and always will, I think. I can forgive this minor annoyance, though, because the man is a great writer and obviously cares about the Legion.

For what its worth, I pointed out in another thread that the way Rokk behaved in the first issue when he burst into science police HQ and used his magnetism on an officer was classic Levitz, too. Then, as now, my beef with this portrayal is that these actions are simply unlikely and unacceptable among a group of mature, responsible heroes such as the Legion. Let's face it: in real life a group that behaved in these ways (i.e. antagonism and assault) would not only be arrested, but unable to function well together as a group.

Again this was a very decent issue. I really enjoyed reading it.

I have to applaud the fact that some storylines are already over (for now, at least), I think it is good that with so much going on, the reader is getting some feeling of closure that way - even though the big story is NEVER over of course smile

I'm getting accustomed to the artwork as well. After four issues, it is time to show the whole team now, though. Some members like Element Lad or Mon-El are getting not enough screen time. Polar Boy and Night Girl as well!

But all in all this is a quite good book now, I really hope that they will keep it up for at least two years before some new writer takes over again...

You know I hate to say it but without the mask Sensor Girls costume looks kinda good. The tiara thing even looks ok.

The twins' storyline is definitely something that's going to be revisited. Something else else was done to those boys. Why else couldn't Imra get a strong read on her own sons? My guess is that they've been tampered with in some way that will have repurcussions when they get older. I hope Gartha and Imra let Brainy run tests on the boys when they return.

Well, the solicitation for next issue DOES include this bit: "The final fate of Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad's twin children is revealed here!"

So there's either more to come as early as next issue, or it got bumped up to number 4. shrug

Solicits for the next issue say the "final fate" of the twins is revealed therein.

an ok issue. i enjoyed the "family" interaction between the three. the villains were kind of lame. we should have had a Great Darkness flashback panel AND a Validus recap.

was i imagining it or did Ayla kill that long haired baddie by pulling him into the Omega beams??? don't the Omega beams mean death? and just a few panels later she comments on the Legion's oath never to kill.

Just how does Imra's mind implant of Darkseid turn the bad guy into stone that crumbles into dust??? did i miss something?

the Legionnaires are ready for Cos to step down because Levitz is listening to us fans who've been complaining that Cos is always the leader. as someone mentioned above, both Jeckie and Sun Boy have good reasons to doubt Cos's current performance.

i don't know enough about Sodom Yat to understand why HE doesn't go recruit a new GL. is he weak and dying? anyway, it's clear that it'll be Harmonia Li. but will she be friend or foe?

that's not Shadow Lass. see how she flirts with Brainy? it's Yera, who's working with the Durlan Revenge Squad who are heading toward earth. too bad for Colossal Boy's marriage! but Yera did a similar thing to Gim (and Vi) when she was first introduced.

Maybe the jr. Ranzz twins will go the way of Wanda's twins over at Marvel. They're figments of Imra's imagination. Soon, Imra will go nuts, run amok and declare, "No more telepaths!" Years from now the twins will be brought back as teenagers and one will be gay.

Didn't Darkseid send Superboy into the past with his omega hi-beams in GDS?

Yup, she did say she would (while shaking her fist at Yera) if this EVER happened again! ...meaning if she ever impersonated anyone, not just Vi, again.

I have to agree with you there Kahn. The outfit works without the yellow color present (blond hair and yellow in the mask). Without the mask Jeckie's white-ish hair bounces nicely off the white trim in her costume. No tiara though please.
Geez listen to me ... I'm starting to sound like my wife's hairdresser!
lol

P.S. I guess I like it without the mask and wig because it kinda reminds me of her classic Princess Projectra costume ... Ouch-hot!!! laugh

That's awesome. Replace Hulkling with a half-Durlan/half-Daxamite, Vision with Computo III, Stature with the daughter of Gim and Yera, Hawkeye II with Green Arrow XVII and you've got the beginnings of the Young Legion!

She's called Shrinking Violet because she shrinks, not because she's shy.

But she was a shy character originally, wasn't she? It wasn't until she emerged as a survivor from a sens-tank was she galvanized into one of the Legion's kick-butt females.

I don't think she's been portrayed as shy since Adventure days. No shy person would wear that dynamic Cockrum costume with the plunging neckline.

I've never really disliked any of Violet's outfits, truthfully. It's purely nostalgia that might make me choose one over the other.

It's kind of hard to talk about an individual heroine's motivation for wearing whatever she's wearing. You have this overwhelming dissymmetry when it comes to how much skin women show versus how much men show in these stories. So long as that's the case, any attempt to explain it on a character-to-character basis amounts to what TV Tropes fondly calls "lampshading."

And I write that as somebody who really likes that particular costume, FWIW.
