I'm totally expecting an "All-Jim Lee Cover Faceoff" in, oh, about a month or two.
Right now, I'm also totally expecting this one to win.

I almost wet myself when I saw the post of Lee's variant cover just now. It's beautiful. A very moving tribute.
Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.

That Mon-El cover is a thing of beauty! Earth-Man looks...kind of hot in that preview. I feel ashamed. The story seems to be picking up pace quite well! I like!

The preview was ok. Now we know who took the twins, I predict Garth will just lose it on those two kidnappers for taking his kids.
The deviant cover with Monel is just ok in my opinion. I know I'm in the minority on here. There are so many other characters they could have picked and other tribute covers Lee could have chosen from. Oh well, can't please everyone I guess.

Fantastic variant cover, really superb idea. But the regular cover looks pretty cool as well.
And I really liked the Preview. Draws me right into the story. Builds up a connection to older Levitz stories (YES!!!) with the "children touched by Darkseid". And I really am getting more and more interested in this Earth Man character...

Oh my God I loved this issue. I love this series.
I'm not pertaining to the Earth-Man parts, but on the matter of the Ranzz Family. Garth doesn't go nuts on the kidnappers, but he does charge in when they finally locate where the twins are being held specifically (he kisses Imra on the cheek before he does). Imra and Ayla both show how battle savy they are in combat, with Ayla demonstrating the raw power and rationale of her brother and sister-and-law.

This was a good issue. Ayla absolutely kicked ass.
The only thing I'm a little worried about is that we're now four issues in, and we still haven't seen Jenni at all.

Just read issue #4 and it was very good in my opinion. I found the resolution of the missing twins story a bit on the anti-climatic side. Oh well, at least they got them back safe and sound. I did appreciate the interaction between the three Ranzz's though. Maybe this was just a little "seed" for another epic Darkseid saga down the road? Let's hope. I wonder what Earth Man's real deal is in all this ... it's obvious that he's no hero and he's willing to do anything that comes to his mind to serve his own agenda. Just touch a fellow Legionnaire's shoulder and you get the temporary power you need to assist your plan. Must be nice to have no conscience to pull you back. The guy has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, in my opinion, and anyone calling him a hero is just kidding themselves. I really like how Paul is completely toying around with us and the Legion by giving E-Man prime real estate on this book. I'm betting the end game and final conflict will be worth the wait. I sense that now we are supposed to assume that the Legionnaire in bed with him on the cover of #6 will be Shady, what with their conversation at the end of this issue. That's exactly why it ISN'T going to turn out to be Shady ... too obvious now. So who will it be? Hmmmmmmm......... I'm back to square one with this mystery. Other plot points: I see no reason why the presence of a few hundred refugee telepaths wouldn't help advance any world's quality of living yet alone a world of precogs with their own specials skills, so what's the significance I wonder? Obviously professor Harmonia Li has something important to do on Naltor. What's Shady's fascination with Earth Man anyway? Any theories? Clearly she doesn't trust him (I hope!) and that's why she's digging up some info from Brainy. It can't be that she'll betray the Legion, can it?? Nah! So the Legion elections are a month away. Excellent! My vote goes to Element Lad. No real reason other than I want to see this character used more in the new book. He's done a good job in the past and, lately, was a big part of Brand's mission into the past. Plus I have always liked him and felt for the guy being a planet orphan and all. The Legion really is his whole life and, with the exception of Cosmic Boy, his are amoung the strongest convictions regarding what the Legion is all about. The colorist Hi-Fi got unmasked Jeckie and Nura's hair colors wrong, again. Nura's has platinum highlights in her blonde hair and Jeckie's is white-ish/platinum ... God I wish she would lose that ridiculous mask soon. The Cinar/Portela/Faucher art team continues to shine in my eyes. Another fine issue fellas! This book is doing sooooo well, AND we're only 4 issues in! Nice. I can't believe #5 is a whole four weeks away.
