Both I suppose... what was the hold-up on the final issue I wonder?

Frank, I suppose. It's obvious that a lot of time and effort went into the art for the final issue.

It seemed like one of the main purposes of S:SO was to build up the back story of the Sam Lane hatred of Supes. Presumably this was in preparation for the New Krypton through War of the Supermen mega arc, But of course that arc is long since finished and Lane is dead so the build up in S:SO seemed somewhat flat.

I guess I have to vote "The Pits" on this one.
I like most of Geoff Johns' work but this series wasn't one of those times unfortunatly. It just didn't grab me the way I wanted it to ... same old, same old ... imo.
While I appreciate Gary Frank's love of Christopher Reeves a-la this version of Supes (it is spot on), I maintain that Frank's facial expressions make everyone he draws look stoned. It is really quite distracting and forces you to not take the book seriously (you know, like trying to relate to your friend in college when he was high but you weren't).
