Love the opening action. However, if the inker/colorist whatever they are called can not be bothered to get Dreamy's hair color right by now then they need to fire them and hire some one that can do the job right. It is distracting and outright annoying at this point.

Brande's estate is nice. The Kerguelen islands are actually a kinda neat place.
Still not a fan of the unnecessary splash pages. I'm being an old fogey here, I know, but I prefer for a full page bit of artwork to have some meat to it, and a shot of Colossal Boy's backside isn't the kind of 'meat' I was referring to. Save those full page pictures for scenes with some action or spectacle to them!

But what a backside! Looks good to me! And go, Dreamy! Kick that Durlan's ass!

Take it up with Editorial.

Everything looks real purty, but it's not a lot of story for the dollar(s), is it?

Thanks for pointing that out his/her/it's incompetence is truly to blame. Fire the Editor!

I think the days of Image, with celebrity artists like Jim Lee and Mike Turner, led to a lot of big splashy art. There was, previously, some workmanlike art that just kind of serviced the story, in some cases, passably, and while it wasn't always pretty, got the job done. Then it got turned on it's head, with comics like Witchblade and Fathom, that seemed like art for art's sake, and a fairly nebulous story at best. I feel that the uncalled for splash pages are a holdover from those days. I don't necessarily want nine-panel grids on every page, but gosh, save those full page pictures for something cool. Not every first page of a comic book has to be a full-page splash. (Had the page started with CB and Dreamy in a big fight with Durlans, and skipped the pages of exposition, *that* would have warranted a full page!)

I know i've said this before but 'her costume is platinum because HER HAIR IS PLATINUM' ... and her lipstick too. the colorist should at least ask ... 'um blonde really? ... cause it clashes ... ' or something. at this point it's almost on purpose ... what images is the colorist referencing? is the penciller directing them to color her hair blonde. RAHHHHHHRRRR!!!

If they are refferencing anything it would be the threeboot dirty blond version of Dream Girl. That is the closest ... well, actually the only ... match for this disaster of a look.

^ At least we all know change is on the horizon re: Nura's hair if LSH #11 is anything to go by.
It is ridiculous that we'll have to wait that long to see that change though.
Anyone with two eyes can see that Nura's current hair colour looks fugly and wrong.

Oh, guys, come on! It's just hair. If it bothers you that much, save the pages, go to Paint and remove any yellow you see and reprint the pages. gads
Beautiful storytelling, imo. But. . . funny that Gim would point out Dreamy's lack of foresight and then, give HER the assignment to fight the shapeshifters. When did she become the fighter between the two of them? She was a fighter in the reboot and Prime, not in the original boot. Not often, anyway.
I'd have immediately called for backup, ASAP, and swooped the secretary/assistant away, not stand there and talk to him.
Gim's always been a little slow to act but that is ridiculous. Oh, well.
Beautiful visuals, though.

^ Thanks, but I think it would be easier if the colorist (or penciller or editor or whoever is in charge of things like that) just did their job properly. (Unless there's an in-story explanation like the Durlan spy theory. Which still would be weird - why would a Durlan spy draw attention to themselves by getting the hair colour of their usurped identity wrong?)
I agree re: Gim though. I also thought it was weird that he left Nura to do the fighting. I guess he just trusted her Legion training to handle it since he was the only one who could (by growing) get to the falling guy in time.
It's nice to see Nura doing something active in this book again though, instead of just hanging out on Naltor or at the LSH HQ.
Nice art from Cinar too.

Possibly because she is missing Thom?

Watch, there'll be some throw away line from Dreamy explaining that she's going to go back to her platinum hair colour and get rid of the yellow highlights because she forsees Thom's return and he likes her hair platinum, etc.
I'm liking this story so far, and the art is fantastic in my opinion. I honestly thought Pheebs was a goner there for a second. Can't wait to see how it all turns out today!

The final two who got the most votes for leader couldn't be more yawn inducing.
Interesting, that they showed who voted for who though.
Some questionable choices.

I started an Election results thread here:
http://www.legionworld.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=000838
Mostly because I thought discussions might veer away from the issue itself. The mods may combine the two if that's easier.

<3, <3, <3 the girls fighting! People may have hated the reboot, but Tasmia and Nura came into their own in the era and they're going to kick butt from then on! <3 We can certainly see why Cham and Brande were and are, so out of the ordinary, even for Durlans. These guys were pretty lame, all teeth and claws and tentacles and wings. Seems like a lot but that's so nothing for a shapeshifter. sigh I hope the beautiful Naga isn't dead. And what's with Jan not seeming to give a tinkers darn about Zendak? Or is that just my take on it? Earth Man is such a one note song - all he thinks about is power. He never thinks about strategy or finess or subtlety.

Pretty good issue. Lots to like and enjoy, but...nitpicks are my forte... Nura's hair color isn't supposed to be blond. Tellus shouldn't be using his arms or standing the way he does. He should have been using his telekinesis. I put up with the artists not knowing better in that 21st century crappy story. But in the Legion's own book, they should know better. And, Dr. Gym'll has three, not four arms.

This was an ok issue for me. I sort of felt they ended the revenge/Durlan ongoing story a bit too early here just so we could watch the whole voting thing near the end. The voting pages should have been a short back up story on its own as it took away from the drama in the rest of the book IMO.
As for the voting results I'm disappointed as Dawnstar didn't even get to vote! Wildfire must have made it into a containment suit in time, so he could "press a button" since he voted.
So the new leader is Monel. I'm happy about that as now we get to have him around (take THAT Paul Levitz!). Not so happy for Brainy getting the deputy vote, although his voting for himself was rather funny I thought. Wasn't Phantom Girl in second place in the poll though? What happened there I wonder?
Gates was the only member other that Shallow Lass to vote for Earth Man. Hmmmmm , he can teleport himself back to the <great beyond/void in space> where his reboot teammates are and send someone else back to take his place, namely Kid Quantum, as far as I'm concerned.
I found the Durlan/Zendak assassin to be a bit too annoying what with his whole "why didn't you save Brande? Why?? WHY????" shtick towards Cosmic Boy. Do the Durlans not do their research? Cosmic Boy DID try to stop McCauley but the guy was using plasic bullets if I remember correctly. So what's this guy's problem with Cos then? Didn't another assassin say to Colossal Boy just a few pages earlier that the Legionnaires "were beloved to Brande"? Killing Cos, or any other Legionnaire for that matter, flies in the face of that don't you think?
I'm confused. Hence my frustration with this issue. I hope next issue's wrap up and revelation about the mystery assassin is better than this one.
The art on the other hand was awesome! Dream Girl's blonde hair was a bit distracting though but I'm not going to blame the colourist as I think this is an editorial mistake over and over, month after month.
