DC and its Legion fans, like Ross and Rachel, may be hitting another crossroads.

Oh wow, Mon-El getting out of the zone back in the 21st century? That would be a radical change to the character, and yet, it always made Superboy look kinda bad that he promised he'd get him out of there, and then totally forgot him in there for 1000 years...
The Adventure #0 cover has me feeling hope. I have little confidence in Didio's pep-talks, but these pictures do indeed speak louder than words.

Strangely, that ADV cover isn't exactly bowling me over. Don't know if it's the panel or if it's a lurking feeling that it's a set-up, a tease.
Does Johns have anything to do with this? Why are there no heads exploding?
So, son of Validus? I really don't want to find out that there's a race of Validuses out there. That would be the ultimate rip-off.

The Adventure cover is very handsome. I am looking at it with deep skepticism.
If FC:L3W were to end in a white event, followed by another reboot, the resulting cover could look just like that. I mean, do Garth, Rokk and Imra look anything like that in any of the three Legions we've got going on right now?
That was my first thought. My second thought is, this is an issue #0. Which means it could be, for instance, nothing but a flashback. It's not meant to start a new series; it's meant to be an appetizer for a new series.
So it could be okay.

Ooooooo Adventure Comics #0! With beautiful Lopresti art! That one's got me VERY excited!
Strange that (if it is a new Legion ongoing) it would start before Legion of 3 Worlds is finished though.
R.E.B.E.L.S is an odd one to me. Wasn't that series universally hated and cancelled after about 8 issues? Glad to see they're doing something with those characters again though. And is that Wildfire on the team with them? Not to mention Validus?
Looking forward to the full solits.

Hey! Check this link for the full solicit for Adventure #0. Turns out I was right: it's not only a flashback; it's a reprint. http://forum.superpouvoir.com/showthread.php?p=257306

A reprint? OK that's less exciting than I'd hoped for. Still, it's only $1 and it's great to see confirmation that a new Adventure Comics series starring the Legion is indeed just around the corner.

Still, a reprint of the first Legion story, especially as the lead-in to a new series, has to be a sign that the PTB at DC are actively marketing the Legion property. That can't possibly be bad.

Adventure comics #0, despite being an reprint, looks the most awesome of the Legion-related stuff for February. Man, the Lospresti cover looks sick! And R.E.B.E.L.S. has me intrigued.
How many times do I have to die?!?

Hmm... reprint story takes up 12 pages with at least 10 for ads, leaves about 10 pages max for this "back up" story, oddly no creative team is listed. Is it safe to assume that Johns is the writer?

But Legion will indeed be the team on Adventure Comics. And, as I mentioned in Legion Omnicom, why does DC keep on messing up with time by doing R.E.B.E.L.S (and not the highly successful L.E.G.I.O.N.) and including 31st Century characters? This sounds like Zero Hour all over again...

True. Otherwise why go through all the trouble? There are countless number of other stories they could choose to reprint. Looks like the PTB read the forums on here after all!

Just to prove I'm not a bad sport when I'm proven wrong, here's a link to an LA Times article wherein Didio all but confirms that "Adventure" will star the LSH. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/11/dc-sends-superm.html#more Speculation: it won't be the grizzled Adult Legion currently appearing in LO3W but a younger version of it -- with "superboy". DC will rewrite LSH history in contemporary, post-FC continuity -- leaving no doubt whatever it's effectively rebooted the Legion again. Thoughts: I wonder if Didiot is such a painfully stupid jerkwad he doesn't realize the irony of relaunching "Adventure Comics" only months after he's fired one of the legendary creators who made that title great.

I am glad that DC has finally come around to my thinking that the only appearances of the original legion were written by Otto Binder and that all subsequent legions are phony.

I believe that they've finally learned that reboots aren't the way to go; I've seen quotes from DiDio and, I think, others to that effect. And I've certainly written enough letters to them telling them so.

Who knows what goes on in the minds of DC decision-makers anymore but I don't think we're about to see another reboot.
I think, if anything, the reprint of Adventure #247 all but seals the deal that it is the original team's stories we're going to be seeing again. Otherwise - why show us their first story?
Personally, I'd LOVE it if the new book has the ongoing adventures of the current Action-Legion - but with back-up tales in each issue telling new stories from when they were young.
Because, much as I like the Action-Legion, my true favourite version of the Legion is their youthful version in the Adventure/Superboy era.
And I'd DOUBLE LOVE to see those kids drawn by someone like Lopresti on a regular basis.

And I've certainly written enough letters to them telling them so. DC has *already* rebooted the Legion again, and all that remains of its venerable original history are the "big stories". Lightning Lad died saving Earth and was resurrected with the lightning rods. Computo reduced Triplicate Girl to Duo Damsel. Ferro Lad sacrificed himself to save the solar system. And so forth. **Everything else is fair game to be rewritten in the new continuity.** Including the personalities of the characters. It's pretty the same tactic DC has taken with its rebooted Superman. You pointed out yourself that the LL and SG on the cover don't look like any versions of the "originals". That's probably because they aren't -- no more than the bogus-original versions of them currently appearing in LO3W. My remaining question is whether the new/old re-rebooted continuity will be told in flashback, or the characters will actually be "youthenized" (pun intended) at the end of LO3W.
