Can I cast a vote for negative 2,000 Dawnstars? I can't stand the beach. Besides since they're obviously sticking to silver age Legionnaires for now, it'll be awhile before we're cursed with a Dawnstar one.

Dawnstar was a major player in the first part of Crisis. And even if you don't like the Legionnaire, having one show up in another wave increases the audience for having more Legion figures in general. So if you want [insert favorite Legionnaire here] to be made, showing support for Dawnstar would help the cause, no?

IB, your IP address changes enough that you could vote for Dawny at least once a day if you wanted. Also, if you have more than one browser, you can use them to appear as a different voter with each one. That's how I'm voting repeatedly.

And as for evidence that the regular posters there are ungrateful pissants, check out the threads bemoaning their "problems" with figures they've been screaming for and could never expect to get otherwise: Batwoman/ Betty Kane Bat-girl deluxe set, E2 Robin, Firestorm, Beast Boy/Changeling... Y'know, sometimes people should just count their blessings.

Well, it looks like the Legion figures have lost their January berth for 2005.
Possibly, they'll time the solicit of the next wave to coincide with the new #1... which would be September. Maybe the next archive will be released then as well?
Here's hoping, anyway.
I was *sure* it'd finally be Element Lad's turn... and I was hoping for some heroines to debut. And we still need Tenzil, Karate Kid, Chemical King and Bouncing Boy Sigh.

*sigh* They look so nice together too...a shame we may never get the chance to round the Silver Age guys out with some of the ladies and late-comers.
I had just gotten into collecting the figures too a few months ago...it's a shame and an easy way to kick me off my collecting path knowing I'll never have a complete set of Legionnaires. Guess I'll hold off on hunting down some of the original figures for now.

Yup! Since DC Direct can produce Batman and Superman figures up the ying-yang, they don't see enough profit in lesser known characters such as the Legion.
AND, we're told that even if the new series is a big hit, the next Legion figures made will be based on Kitson's redesigns rather than finishing the Silver Age or moving on the the Cockrum/Grell era.

Sob! Nooooo! I had a Lillithian 'feeling' that one day I'd have the be-flared Phantom Girl dolly I've long since craved. My Comet senses were wrong. Gah!

[/b] Well that sucks. Part of the appeal to me about DC Direct was getting the toys that I'd never ever have seen any other way. The Legion, Metamorpho, Uncle Sam and Phantom Lady... I guess I can kiss goodby to my hopes of the rest of the SA Legion and the rest of the Freedom Fighters

It seems the only way to get the obscure characters today is to have them anchored with a big name character, series, or event. That's why I was really hoping Dawnstar would make the cut and show up in a Crisis wave. A beautifully sculpted winged character like her would surely "fly" off the shelves and maybe knock some sense into DCD about how marketable the Legion could be. With the recent Alex Ross/Jim Lee designed figures announced, I'm also hoping that one or both of them could design some good Legion figures and convince DCD to produce them.

You just said what I would have, Gary. I wouldn't assume, for myself, that they'd manage a genuinely "beautifully sculpted winged character," from having seen what's been done in a more mediocre way with the rest of the Silver Age.
Some of our fan-grown collections, such as that of Minesurfer, have been more adept and intriguing than what DC's corporate types are likely to create. If they ever did one. But even if it were mediocre, I'd still buy two of 'em.

The Hawkman annd Hawgirl wings were a bit on the clunky side weren't they?
Aren't they going to do a couple more Crisis waves? Maybe Dawnstar will be included in one of them? (But we are apparently getting another Supergirl figure which I'm quite happy about)
