Question: Do you have any news and or pictures of the Superboy and Legion of Superheroes toy line? Will it be on scale with JLU?

Boy Wonder: It's not my line. However, as for scale, I think it will be different than JLU.

No pictures or line up yet but he has put me in touch with the line director for LSH. I hope to have an interview at Go! Figure in December. In the meantime how about Toddler scale DC Super Friends, Big Heroes for Little Boys

Thanks for the update Tekwych. There hasn't been any follow-up news since they first mentioned the line. Can't wait to read your interview.

This week's Previews says the February Toyfare will have a sneak peek of Mattel's new line.

My classmates are all aware of my love for Brainy so they keep asking, "Do you have an action figure of him?" trying to tease me. Then I make them all groan when I say, "Nooo! They're not out yet, stupid!" lol

LOL, I'm thinking the same thing, Copycat Girl!

I'm going to be the freak in the toy section of Fred Meyer standing there with my brand new Brainiac 5 action figure saying, "I just want to thank all of the little people for the honor of giving me this award! I'm not worthy of such a handsome...and cute...and smart...and...what was I saying?"

(literally grinning like a love sick idiot here. and...am I blushing?) Fangirl, you speak the truth. I'm gonna be the one standing outside the toy store running in circles with my Brainy doll screaming, "I got one!! I finally got one!!!! Now we can be together forvever, Brainy!! No one can rip you in half now! No one can say you're 2D now!!! You are now in all your 3D GLORY!!!"....no...I'm not joking...

I'll probably get a Superman one too and reinact every slash scene playing in my head out with the two of them...

lol I'll probably get Phantom Girl too so I can brag about it to my sis and say she can't play with it cause it's mine! (she's a fan of Phantom Girl) and I'll also get Lightning Lad (depending on the price) so I can torture it with a clown doll, then throw it off the cliff about a mile from my house...that would be FUN to watch don't you think? Lightning Lad dropping hundreds of feet to his doom. *laughs evilly*

Oh, that's soooooo evil! LOL! I dunno, I kinda like Lightning Lad. Every leader needs that one guy to always say, "Oh yeah? Well, what makes you so special?"

true. but I got some sort of vengance against him just cause he's the kinda guy who would always pick on me at school. plus, he's got some issues with Copycat and Brainy in my fanfic. as soon as he finds out something between them the entire legion knows about it. (I don't just mean the core team. I mean ALL of them. except Dream Girl that is...I don't like Dream Girl...she doesn't deserve to be in the first part...) Like once, Brainy and Copycat were watching the stars outside and talking and what-not, and they fall asleep. Of course, LL finds them and tells EVERYBODY.

Gonna be a bit of a wait, then, but I'll definitely check that article out when the issue hits the stands. If standard practice with super hero toys is any indication, we'll probably see a few variations on each character so there are multiple toys for each of them. (Anyone seeing a Lightning Lad with clear blue plastic hand attachments? Ones that looks like hands with energy on them, sorta Sith-style, that you can replace his normal set with? Hn.)

If the toys are good, I'll definitely get at least a few of them. My fiancé and I are just as bad as little kids when we hit Toys R Us, at times. We've got a LOT of Transformers and Sigma 6 GI Joes between us, and some of those TFs are seriously old school gen1 figures.

*Puts Brainiac 5, Lightning Lad, Timberwolf and Saturn Girl on her tenative "to buy" list.*

I'm just hoping the LoSH line doesn't suffer the "female characters don't sell" stigma that seems to be an issue with the Sigma 6 and Avatar line. Where are the Scarlett, Baroness, Jinx, Katara and Toph figures, I'd like to know? =/ (And I KNOW Scarlett will eventually be released...but how many versions of Duke and Snake-Eyes have there been since the line began? Yeesh.)

I can't wait for these to come out, I am so getting the Timberwolf and Brainy ones.

Will you guys buy three or just one action figure of Triplicate Girl? I would buy 3 of them to show that we want more of her!

yah. I just noticed the other day that Trip. Girl has only been in the first episode. and I thought Timberwolf (only been in two) was being left out. I'd probably buy two Brainy's though. One for at home, and one for at school. lol

Realistically she'd have to come as a five pack.

The three individual component girls. The fully integrated tricolour and one where she's divided once and there's a duotone version.

if you put it that way, she'd have to be a six pack.

Day Three and a second wave of Legion figures

Looks like we won't be getting a Legion line after all. At least according to what Michael has dug up over at The Omnicom .

So it's a retail issue? Then, maybe a campaign of Legion support to Walmart and/or Target would get Mattel back on track?

I'm not sure whether any type of campaign would be much help as Mattel has even bigger problems than the still-born Legion line - they can't even get shelf space at Walmart for their Superman and Batman lines. And JLU sightings at Target are few and far between. Check out the DC Direct forum on the DC boards for more info.

It's frustrating to see Marvel doing so well at getting action figures made of even their C level characters and into stores, and DC/Mattel can't even get the attention of the big chains. The culprit could be the dirth of DC movies compared to Marvel the last few years.

I hope they come out soon. I really want a Superman X figure.

I'm working on a two-part article for Newsarama regarding figures. The first part mainly discusses the failure of the DC Direct Silver Age line. I'm hoping DCD steps up and offers a Bronze Age wave for the Legion's 50 anniversary.

The second part of the article will discuss/show some custom figures -- and discuss the stillborn Mattel line -- as well as the McDonald's toys.

I emailed a guy at Mattel who works on the DC line, but he hasn't responded. I'll try to get a comment again when I finish writing the second part.

Even if there isn't a Legion line, I'm hoping they plan on including one or two characters in the DCSH line by its second year -- if not the first.

Unfortunately there is not a single Legion member on any of the lists Mattel and the 4HM are working with for the DCUC line. Even the options for fan favorite do not include any Legionaries. Ambush Bug is the closest it gets.

I want to take this as a sign that DCD has LSH plans and took them off of Mattel's plate but I don't get that feeling from DCD so I'm just not sure.

That's depressing about Mattel, but thanks for the update. Hopefully DCD does have plans for the 50th anniversary.
