Wow-- I totally would buy a Cosmic Boy AND a Lightning Lad jacket. Props to the fashion guys/gals on SMALLVILLE for coming up with these looks that are so not-comicbooky yet faithful to the characters.

I like all three actors.

I've seen the youtube clips of this episode, so I know where it's going with the "We must kill Chloe" idea. I think it's a bit heavy handed that the Legion is so keen to demand her death, though.

Allison Mack's performance is top notch. She can do creepy with the best of 'em.

<another commercial break>

Some clunky dialogue from Imra: "Your sadism is legendary where we come from, but so is your defeat." Ugh.

No way, I liked that line of Imra's!!! Especially since Rokk and garth zapped the crap out of Brainiac right after!

TOTAL fangasm here.

Yeah, I sensed quick that we were seeing the origin of the Legion no-killing rule.

WHEW. I REALLY liked that show!!

Rokk and Garth were so handsome in very different ways and Imra was lovely.

While I would rather the Legion have already KNOWN Kal was not a killer (that seemed REALLY odd) I can let it go as a device to show how inspirational he is and stuff.

I've got to set the DVR for next week's JSA ep now!!

OK. It's over.

The single most disturbing scene in this episode:

Click Here For A SpoilerThe Legion nearly plunging a knife into Chloe's heart. Yes, Brainiac had to be stopped, but couldn't the writers find a way that didn't make the Legion look like a cult? Sheesh!

Otherwise, the climax works very well, and the dialogue is peppered with lots of familiar name-dropping.

Good episode.

Here's hoping they have an episode where he goes to the future and meets more Legionnaires. Like the shout out to Brainiac 5.

Thought Rokk was cast perfectly. Imra and Garth were well cast as well, but they really nailed Cos.

Thanks for the heads up...I've been wanting to see that since I missed it initially.

HWW, *TOTALLY* agree about that!!! I was glad, though, that Garth couldn't do it and found it more fitting that Rokk could and was going to.

Yes, the Aquaman in 'Smallville' is quite a bit beefier and he's played a slight bit 'dim'.
That Arthur is in 2 or 3 episodes.

Anyway, GA is a cutie, right down to the dimple in his chin.

And I agree that Rokk was perfectly cast. This Legion is obviously more in keeping with the John's retroboot, except for Garth, who seems still in his late teens, imo.
I wonder how they'd cast Jan?

Thanks for sharing your sequencial reactions, MLLASH!
Not only was it fun and kind of exciting to share your reactions and excitement, but it was also way cute!

I still would like to see Clark (Tom Welling) shunted into the 31st century for a season. Would allow the CW to spin-off a Green Arrow show and a Martian Manhunter show, featuring Chloe as J'Onn's gal Friday.

Anyone out there hear of any more news regarding the Legion on Smallville?
I know the season end is coming up (and I think this is also the show's last season as well!) and was wondering if anyone has heard any news/gossip yet?

there is another seaason, and I believe I read that Geoff said there was at least another JSA appearance possible next season. Nothing about the LSH from what I remember.

Thanks Dev Em .... I enjoyed the JSA episode and another next season would be awesome (featuring the next generation All Stars no doubt).
It would be great to see another Legion episode next season featuring the founders we've already met plus a few more Legionnaires too.

Got some Legion-related spoilers on Season 10.

That's just bizarre. Isn't Marsters in his 40's?

Yes he is ... 48 this August to be exact.
It's ok though. Did you see how old "Superboy" looked next to the three young Canadian actors they picked to play the founders?
At least "Querl" could argue that he's an alien and the people from Colu only LOOK older than humans.

They could 'digitally manipulate' his face like they did to Jeff Bridges in Tron: Legacy. Or, they could use a lot of green make-up and smooth out his face that way. Ah.... the choices!

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere, but...

James Marsters is returning to Smallville Friday Oct 15th, but this time he is playing Brainiac 5.0, who returns to the past to talk to Clark and shed some light on things from the past and his future.

It is mentioned in another thread, but if you missed it so could someone else. Redundancy is not a sin, redundancy is our friend. The other thread has comments on his look in the episode. The main complaints would seem to be that he: is too old looking and that he is dressed to dark. He isn't green, but that does not seem to be a problem for anyone.
