Based on your second option, having the aquatic race be the Hyrkrains, who are in the process of purging themselves of spiritual taint using a telapathically shared communal dream, utterly unaware that their unconscious selves are manifesting as malignant psychic entities in the real world. As they 'fight off evil spirits' as part of their once-a-millenium spiritual purge of all that is wicked and selfish within themselves, their internal battle is reflected in the real world by actual psychic entities wreaking havoc on some poor unsuspecting world (essentially sacrificing another world, in the attempt to purge themselves of their darker impulses, all un-beknownst to them).

Wouldn't it be funny if the Legion had to defeat the Hykraians by waking them up? I wonder if Hykraians are ticklish! By the way, when are we going to pick the last three Legionnaires?

Thanks for responding Set and IB. I had another idea to post if no one had commented yet. I like the idea of using the Hykranians (although I like the idea of the Saturn Dominatrix better).
I don't think we should finish the 25 until we've had some adventures. We might have some people show up through the course of events that are incredibly heroic and deserve membership. And if a few die off, we could have a try-outs, and wouldn't that be fum to write?

Cosmic Boy doesn't have a really clear counterpart powerswise... maybe Cera/Push or Tellus? leaving who to make the Ferro Lad sacrifice? I submit either Anti-Lad or Duplicate Boy. I think both of them would feel like their powers might be enough to survive...

Keeping with my thoery that either ANTI-LAD or DUPLICATE BOY take the place of Ferro Lad in the Suneater story, and that FALSE PRETENSES LAD or CHARMA is the traitor, I would need to select 4 members that joined alongside each other in the master list that includes 1 of each of the 2.
So I submit:
If FALSE PRETENSES LAD is the traitor and ANTI-LAD dies fighting the Suneater, the 4 who joined together are:

IF the traitor is either FALSE PRETENSES LAD *or* CHARMA and DUPLICATE BOY dies fighting the Suneater, I submit:

I think the 2nd scenario has more potential as to wether F.P.Lad or Charma is the traitor.

I almost said Zmyr, because I want non-human members and a teleporter is always helpful, but I went with Gates to bring in a former legionnaire with appeal to the group at large. I'll retract Gates and suggest Kent Shakespeare- Impulse. And I'll even suggest that he be the one to make th ultimate sacrifice, thinking he could either outrace the effects of the Sun-eater, or survive them.

Since Zymr and Gates have the same powers, I'd propose making Zymr more of a technologist / team scientist, whose portals are a function of Gil'Dishpan technology.
Alternately, Zymyr could be dropped and replaced with someone less similar to Gates.
