I can't wait to see what the new Fatal Four/Five will be like. I hope to see Nura Nal as the Dream Demon who can control other people's dreams and cause them to have horrific waking nightnmares! She killed the High Seer of Naltor and brought down the entire planet by making people go crazy with her waking nightmares. Now Naltor is quarrantined with the entire planet's inhabitants gone totally insane.

I'd like to see Duplicate Boy and Anti-Lad get in a fight. That'd be AWESOME!

I was down to either Glorith or Mentalla. In the end I think I just missed Glorith's bust too much to not includer her. Mentalla woulda been awesome, though!

I imagine False-Pretences Lad's powers would be something along the lines of "super-phrenology."
He's convinced the Legion to let him join based on his skills with super-phrenology, even though, as it turns out, there's no such thing.

Is False Pretenses Lad a real (or based on a real) character in Legion history? I thought the rules were that they had to be from existing Legion annals...otherwise I woulda voted in Lard Lad!

OT,
There is a single panel at the start of Adventure Comics #327, in which a mysterious figure (we only see him from behind) is being led into prision by a pair of Science Police. His crime: Joining the Legion "under false pretences."
Hence, fandom dubbed him False-Pretences Lad, although nobody has any idea who he is or what his powers are. The best fan theories I recall are than he was one of the former members named in the famous Adult Legion two-parter (Adventure Comics #354-355), or that he was a pre-boot version of the villian from the first arc of the threeboot (whose name I'm blanking on, which is appropriate since, IIRC, his power we to not be remembered).
FWIW, Super-Phrenology Lad, whom I've mixed in, was a member of the Uncanny Amazers, from the reboot era. He was the unnamed bald guy whose costume consisted of a pair of bicycle shorts, and not much else. IIRC, he has dot or something on his skull, so fandom dubbed him Super-Phrenology Lad. Or, at least, the old-schoolers did. The kewl kids called him Phrenellegax, or somesuch.

My Legion history knowledge ain't so good with the super-obscure! (Never knew who that Spiffany dude was before I posted with these crazy cats! ) Still wish I did the Lard Lad thing with Chuck, though!

Jungle King would be interesting. Definitely one of the best Silver Age costumes!
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

I love how this team is coming together.
I can't believe how mind-melded I am with some of you with your choices too. Before I settled on Cannus - Chlorophyll Kid, Charma, Cera Kesh and Quicksand were all close to being chosen!
I have three other characters I'd love to see on the team - one male, one female and one neither. Maybe I'll hold onto them for the Subs.

I'm torn between Sugyn and Gas Girl... they'd make interesting siblings, if you think about it... water and air... maybe Dirk would be their bad boy fire brother?
I'll stick with Sugyn, water-spouting Space Viking.
And I think False Pretences Lad should be this version's Mystery Lad and later be revealed to be somone else...

Oh, False Pretenses Lad is the classic universe version of Praetor Lemnos, with the amazing power to be forgotten?
Every issue he appears in, he has to explain his presence to his teammates, because they've forgotten who he is again, and by the third or fourth appearance he just sort of appears in a fight (them having forgotten already he was with them on the way to the fight) and makes some totally ridiculous claim ("I'm a local hero! Thanks for showing up!" "I'm from the future, with an important message!" "I'm... Your Father, Mekt!") and then, since he's forgotten soon thereafter, he never has to explain whatever nonsense he said during the fight.
When he's not actively doing stuff, he's effectively invisible, and can be seen in the background lounging around, making snarky comments (that no one but the readers ever hears!) in the middle of dialogue like a living (and very sarcastic) narrator.
Occasionally, he'll be shown to comic effect, as he's sitting in a chair and somebody else sits on his lap, not knowing that he's there. ("Wow, this chair is uncomfortable..." FPL "Yeah, and you could stand to lose some weight, buddy...")
Or the automatic doors will open for everyone else, and then slam in his face and his nose will be all red when he finally catches up with them (after having to hit the manual door override).
Anti-Lad will known from the future that the Legion had a member known as False Pretenses Lad, but he's confused by why he 'isn't on the team, yet.'
Duplicate Boy will have actually duplicated his powers once, and the two of them had a friendship for that one issue, but when he ceased duplicating FPL's powers, he forgot about him again, making FPL very sad, because, for a brief shining moment, he had a friend...
