Looks like we'll have a new season coming this fall, according to The Animation Guild 's bloggers. Not much information other than Warner Bros. got the official green light to start what will probably be another 13-episode season. I don't think that DC would be publishing the LSH31C comic based on the series, or that Mattel will be coming out with a line of action figures, if the show was not going to be renewed, but it's nice to hear it anyway.

Great news Michael. Thanks for chasing it down.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

Is there anything we devoted fans should be doing to assure TPTB that we want this series and its merchandise to continue? Like email the network or something?

From Comics Continuum : "The second season of Legion of Super Heroes finds the group fulfilling their collective destiny, each member elevating his skills to new levels ... just in time to face even greater challenges. A daunting new villain -- a destroyer of galaxies from the rich annals of DC Comics -- puts the Legion into action alongside new team members. Superman returns from the 21st century with greater development of both his physical prowess and far better utilization of his powers to help the Legion toward victory in the 31st century and beyond. Moreover, the Legion finds a surprising, new ally from across the space-time continuum to assist in its efforts to rid the universe of this powerful foe." Does anyone else see a Great Darkness on the horizon. Looks like SuperBOY gets back to his own time at the end of the first season and the fact that they say 'space-time' continuum suggests, maybe, a multiverse of possibilities.

"Space-time"? Curious phrase. The first thought that popped up was "Supergirl?" ..or maybe a Flash?

I read time at first and thought Supergirl but then reread the post and questioned it.
Mon-El maybe but what about a much older Kal-L in the old Marla position?

Ferro Lad!!!
This strikes me more as a Suneater than a Darkseid story though I'm not all that up on Darkseid. Does he destroy galaxies?

The Suneater and Ferro Lad! WOW! I didn't even think of that.
It does make a bit more sense except that Darksied has been mentioned as a hoped for big bad for season 2 in several interviews.

I really really really hope it's NOT the Monitor!
Darkseid would be cool though...maybe...the story in the last Legion boot was kind of weak, especially when compared to Giffen's story.

Won't be Ferro. He may join this year. And the Suneater is the two-part season finale this year. I still think it will be Mon and Darkseid.

Yeah, Mon and Darkseid definitely fit together... if they're planning on doing a version of Great Darkness, they need Mon.

Darkseid seems like such a creative crutch to be pulling out so early, but from the description, I can't think who else it would be.
When did Superman do his first Darkseid episode, second or third season?
But I suppose if it brings in more viewers and helps guarantee a third season, bring him on!!

I don't know about such a cartoony version of the GDS, not that I wouldn't mind seeing it. But would they do it if GDS was the one Legion project that Levitz hinted about for the more adult DC cartoon/movie projects?

I thought Paul said they wouldn't be doing a GDS animated film since he wrote the original and it would look bad for him to green-light one of his projects over dozens of other [non-Legion] projects.
I thought everyone was just hoping we'd see the Great Darkness Saga animated despite what Paul said. Or am I wrong?

Most likely you are right Gary. Especially in light of the fact of the announcement of the second season destroyer of galaxies. It will be Imperiex, according to Comics Continuum . Here's the whole news: "I wrote a Timber Wolf story and I think there will be more to do when I get back to New York," DeMatteis told The Continuum during an appearance on Sunday with Abadazad collaborator Mike Ploog at the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention.
"I was surprised. It was actually a pretty intense episode."
DeMatteis said the second season will see "a shift in focus."
In other Legion news:
* The Continuum has learned that the "destroyer of galaxies from the rich annals of DC Comics" mentioned in the Warner Bros release last week will be Imperiex, who will likely appear starting with the second-season debut.
* The Superman seen in Season 2 will not be the same Superman as seen in Season 1.
* The Fatal Five will be returning next season.

Wait... "The Superman seen in Season 2 will not be the same Superman as seen in Season 1." And yet, we had to start with only a core of 7 Legionnaires or else it would be too confusing.

They said a more powerful, more aware of and sure of his powers Superman. That could be an older Superman to get further away from the inability to use Superboy. Draw an older figure so there can't be any confusion. This would also open up the door for a Supergirl to appear.

Is Imperiex from the rich annals of DC Comics? I thought he was from an unpopular cross-over? Did he appear elsewhere?

Imperiex was the one who "killed" Wonder Woman's mother (Queen Hippolyta), Steel (he was resurrected back alive), Aquaman (back alive too), Impulse (really, one of his "light clone"), Maxima, and Mongal.
I think that it has been mentioned that we would see Ayla and Mekt more often in the 2nd season.

I'd bet against Mon-El or Supergirl. They each have the same powers as Superman and more than one in the Legion at the same time removes his uniqueness.
Krypto and the Legion of Super-Pets? Only if there's a crossover between KidsWB and Cartoon Network. No Batman family members, they're taken by another cartoon.

With Imperiex as the villain, maybe we'll see Wonder Woman.
