Theory:

This Glorith is actually the Adventure-Era Glorith Unsplorped!

After being de-aged to protoplasm, she is somehow transferred to Sorceror's World, where she grows up again, which would make her about teen-aged now!

Theory #2:

This Glorith is the daughter of the original Glorith of Baaldur... and the Time Trapper!

Does that other Glorith even exist in this continuity? I mean, I've heard of her, because of hanging around on this site, but she's a non-entity as far as I'm concerned for official classic continuity (since I stopped reading around the time of Sarya's death, and before the whole 5YL/reboot/batch-something-clone-something/magic wars business, which, as far as I know, is Sir-Not-Appearing-in-This-Continuity).

If the retroboot picks up before whatever 'boot' introduced her, then she's no more a 'continuity' issue than if Paul decided to introduce a version of Theena or Kid Quantum 2 into this new / old continuity.

I really thought that the cut-off point was at the end of Levitz's last run, in August '89, before all of that 5YL/Glorith/SW6 stuff.

Or do you mean that powerless Time Trapper flunkie named Glorith who showed up and died in a single issue back in the '60s?

I wasn't even born until two years after she got turned into protoplasm, so I didn't really have time to bond with her as a character.

Set, I really just don't understand what you are saying. Are you suggesting the Adventure Era isn't in continuity?

Glorith has a certain history pre-Crisis. She has a much expanded role in Legion history because of continuity changes 5YL.

If this character is supposed to be a version of that Glorith, then clearly that implies a deviation from pre-Crisis continuity (albeit not a major one, since Glorith wasn't a major character pre-Crisis). Alternatively, this could be a separate character who either a) has some connection to old school Glorith or b) by complete coincidence (in-story, at least), happens to have the same name (though it's pretty clear the name is supposed to evoke connections in the reader's mind).

I don't see how anyone could think it's a non-issue continuity-wise. It's certainly not the equivalent of bringing in KQ2 or Theena, because, unlike Glorith, they didn't exist in any form pre-Crisis. It would be more like a teen version of Nardo showing up at the Legion Academy, and no one remarking on that whole "Super-Stalag of Space" thing.

was Adventure Era Glorith from baaldur? (according to wikipedia she was) cause this glorith's homeworld is unknown. different person altogether?

For awhile it looked like they were going to make Lori Morning Glorith, but it never panned out.

This is probably just some other random girl named Glorith. In the 31st century, its like being named Jennifer. Or Isabella.

Glorith? Now that's a surprise. I think it would be kinda cool if this were Adventure-era Glorith re-grown from her puddle of slime - but that wouldn't explain how she changed race all of a sudden.

Yet, naming some completely random new character "Glorith" almost seems like the Legion continuity version of waving a red flag in front of a bull. Paul must have known that all the 5YL fans would go into overdrive wondering how this character relates to the one that had such an impact on their Legion.

As much as I'm liking these new characters, seeing Blok, Mysa, Lydda, Jed, etc. there kinda makes me wish I were reading a book that focused more heavily on them instead. I've waited years to see those characters (and Chuck and Berta and so on) back in these pages, so to see them palmed off into being background characters is a little frustrating.

Still can't wait for this issue though.
