One of the questions which remained at the end of the LIGHTNING SAGA has apparently been answered...

Karate Kid called her Triplicate Girl, but she said that she was now called 'Una'. It seemed to be implied that she's down to just one body-- though it isn't really spelled out implicitly. A curious choice. I guess she's at least fairly experienced in staying in the past. </span></span>

This appeared in the pages of COUNTDOWN 41.

Just as I thought, the narration boxes were purple and orange for a reason...

(It wadn't rocket surgery though. I realize that, seeing as how Luorno's face appeared in the Countdown promo)

What's her outfit like?

That's a new costume for Duo Damsel... erm... or Una or whatever she's calling herself these days.

so it's "Una"?!? *muffled laugh* better than Mono Maid? dunno. *heh* and look at her costume? I am not sure if it is right one or a mistake - sure looks odd to me.

Yeah, not digging that costume.

I thought it was weird that Karate Kid called her 'Triplicate Girl'. Was it the cape? The color scheme?

I don't like the costume, either-- but I'd like to see it in a different setting before rejecting it outright.

Plus, I don't think there was a cape on the shadowy woman at the end of LIGHTNING SAGA.

I don't mind the costume so much as I object to the lack of a neck. This is a startling retcon. Luornu has always had one neck per body in all previous versions of the character, including the animated series. This is a slap in the face to the fans of Luornu's neck.

i can't buy any comic where i can draw better than the "Pro".
my guess is it's supposed to be the cockrum split down the middle costume but only the purple Lu has survived. they just forgot details like the belt, holes in the boots, and gave her (gag) white gloves.

I like Una. And this has to be post LOSH #50(baxter) Legion. We got "Una" and Sensor Girl?

Val sounds as confused about who Luornu is as we are. She hadn't been "Triplicate Girl" for years and years. He would never make that mistake under normal circumstances.

As if these were normal circumstances.

The Brave and the Bold -- the time rifts and stuff, and Saturn Girl saying Batman is there to save the 31st century -- may be connected. Ya think?

I cast a vote for Mono Girl, or Mono Lass... far better name than Una... sounds like a nasty card game LOL

Which would be interesting, as it could mean that the resurgence of Superman in Legion lore implu that the Glorith time line has been erased.

Karate Kid never knew her as Triplicate Girl, only as Duo Damsel. So why would he call her that? And he Shirley would've known that she was down to one body.

I haven't read Countdown at all, but I did skim this issue yesterday. I neglected to buy it since the artwork was so crappy and my gal, Lu only appears on the last page.

Why does she need a code name if she's down to one body? Why not just call her Luornu?

I agree that the artist didn't do his homework and got her Cockrum costume wrong. But why isn't she wearing the costume she wore in the GDS?

And she appears in the animated series? I may have to start buying it. Can we see a scan of that promo with Luornu on it?

Also, the silhouette who told Val he had to stay behind at the end of Lightning Saga was pretty clearly masculine. What's up with that?

Oh, yeah. Since we're down to one Luornu, I'm guessing the Timetrapper is involved.

Theory: It's a Lu from even farther into the future than Val.

If Val was rescued by the founders, who themselves travelled back to v.3's early issues, but returned in time for the mission-of-seven (which left after the Sensor Girl post-revelation issue -- #25-ish), then the mission itself may have been in place of Conspiracy (46-50; since there was no dead Superboy to avenge).

But Una-Luornu implies one body... so either Conspiracy did happen (maybe at the same time as the Lightning Saga) with the Trapper, not Glorith - or she lost a body some other way - or she is from yet another timeline (unlikely, though).

But why would Val think she was Trip-Girl? writer error, perhaps... or he has already encountered Threeboot Legion and mistook his Lu for theirs somehow.

OR...

(this just occurred to me)

Just as the Founders saved Val in this new-old timeline, maybe they also saved Lu's original body, so Val had already adjusted to Lu as T-Girl.

I think it's just sloppy editors. I could edit the Legion better than these clowns.

Yeah they didn't reveal who that was. The character was very masculine and had pretty short hair it seems. No cape though? I thought it was Kon-El for some reason but I'm probably wrong.

So was there really any reason to keep her all shadowy and unrevealed in the Crossover, other than so they could have the "development" of her reveal happen in Countdown?

The artist was Dennis Calero, soon to be artist on S&LSH.

Wouldn't Una have a Brainy forcefield belt?
