Note to Matthew E (re: blog):
Since LSH didn't get affected by Crisis until v.3 #16 (or was it 18?), and Sensor Girl and Polar Boy (in his 80s costume) joined around #14 (or thereabouts), technically they were intro'd pre-Crisis. As I recall, Superboy made an appearance as the membership tryouts were being organized, and he hints he might give it a shot (#13). Chuck tells him history informs them that he won't.

#16 is the Death of Supergirl issue, and #18 is the official Crisis crossover. The Baxter Five actually appear in one of the later issues of Crisis itself, as I recall.

Oh, and the Superboy appearance was actually #12, I believe, in the Comet Queen origin story.
#13 was the Timber Wolf spotlight, wasn't it?

Speaking of Timber Wolf, anyone notice he doesn't appear to have had the costume change, designed by Ayla, and facial surgery, with subsequent personality change, he had for Ayla?
I wonder what the status of their relationship is now as they had, by this point, broken up for good.

I'm not totally convinced that these Legionnaires are all from the same time period themselves. Starman appears to be a bit older than the rest, given that he's adopted the more mature name. Sensor Girl's presence as Sensor Girl implies that Val has died, but there he is. Timber Wolf is sporting a look that he'd discarded long before Jeckie adopted the Sensor Girl ID.
The apparent continuity "errors" could simply be the result of the members of this team being from slightly different times themselves.

Oh, I think the writers are just cherrypicking the versions of the characters they like best (Cockrumesque T-Wolf, Sensor Girl) without respect to the fine details and chronology of pre-Crisis history. They'll no doubt do the same with the old stories -- those they want to remain in continuity will be; those they don't want will be forgotten. Other stories will be modified to suit the needs of new stories.

I agree with Tromium, it's a wide open field now. Look for anyone to show up, once dead or not. In the end it will be the Monitors that will get burned and they'll have to live with certain timeline and spacial anomalies (like a living Ferro Lad and Chemical King!)

So in a sense we may be getting the Ultimate Legion that people were begging for a couple of years ago. That would be cool.
Or a band of Legionaire Exiles touring the new 52verse and doing Super hero type stuff. That would be cool too.
I'm really hoping DC continues this trend with the Legion crossing over and becoming more and more an integral part of the DCU. It's fun.
Heck I can't wait for the TPB of The Lightning Saga.

I think with Starman that he is a bit older now, compared to the others, due to living for a few years on Earth-22, (Kingdom Come), whereas everyone else went straight to the past.

I don't know that Thom is that much older, or simply that he's changed names in anticipation of being the Danny Blaine Starman, who history informs all 30th/31st century residents was known as Starman. Obviously his adventures thus far have delayed/canceled his adoption of that identity - so far.
My take on Levitz-era LSH was that they were 20-somethings but still used "kid" names - probably because with longer lifespans (as detailed in the 2nd Shooter era), future culture has established a more flexible definition of boy/man, girl/woman status.
Val refers to being saved by Saturn Girl and others; that suggests to me the LSH has already meddled with thier own timeline.

maybe they didnt meddle...maybe that's how it happend in their history...remember if this legion is from one of the 52 earths...they're like the original time line but different...same as Earth S with the shazam family or whatever number it is now

While it may explain why the composition of this Legion would seemingly be the same yet different, I don't see what the gain is since they won't be able to flesh it out anyway.
I wonder if, when Countdown winds down to what it's counting down to, we'll still see a 52-count multiverse or if they eventually end up with a unified Earth again with a mixed lineup of Legionnaires from pre-boot, post-boot, 3boot, Elseworlds Superboy's Legion and all other published Legion stories.
Isn't it the Legion's anniversary next year? And isn't that about the same time as the anniversary??? I wonder what they have planned...though I wouldn't be surprised if DC chose to ignore it...wouldn't be the first time... :-\

I can't see it; what would be the point of reintroducing the multiverse if they're just going to flush it away a year later? It would be silliness. I think that when the dust has settled we'll still have a multiverse (not necessarily with 52 earths, though...).

I agree with Matthew, especially having read Didio's column about the reintro'd multiverse.

Well, with Mark Waid's interview on Newsarama saying JLA #10 ties in directly with the announced stop/restart of Flash, I think we have a new prime candidate for resurrection via Lightning rod: Barry Allen.

Not to mention "Runs Like Antelope," the original, original, original Flash of the neolithic era.
On a more "serious" note, wasn't Barry joined with the Speed Force or somesuch? Then his return is a lot more plausible than, say, Green Arrow's.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

In the 90s, Mediocre Boy, everyone was dead at least once for 15 minutes.

Mine came a little late, in January 2000, when I passed a kidney stone. Boy, I felt like I was dying!
