Question to anyone who has read Superman 690 -
Is Tellus here after Lo3W (his time), so despite being MIA in Lo3W he will sometime after Lo3W get found and sent back to the 21C
or
Is Tellus here before/during Lo3W (his time) and that is why he is MIA. In which case how does he understand the relevance of the conversation in #690
I hope I've made enough sense there

Those questions sum up why the writing has become so bad nowadays.
In the past, these questions would have been answered for us during the story(ies).
Nowadays, we'll find out what's going on from an online interview. If they ever bother to tell us at all.

Hate to say it, but I think I'm done with this run on Superman. I just can't get into Robinson. I picked it up for Mon-el, but not only was he absent this issue, I now find out to get his full story I've got to go to Robinson's JL, which I have no interest in supporting.
I also wish they didn't keep trying to shove Atlas down our throats. Steel is a very cool character in the right hands, he doesn't have to be the first guy punked out every time to show how tough the villain is.

To be honest, I am still enjoying Superman, but it is very clear that now they are simply "filling in" for whatever plan Goeff Johns gave them for 2010.

I hope I've made enough sense there Well it was the Legion that sent the anti-lead serum back to get Mon-El out of the zone in the first place...I assume it has something to do with that subplot. And the release of Mon-El from the Zone wasn't even mentioned in L03W... It could be something that happeend after LO3W, it could be something that dates back to the Lightning Saga. I don't think they intend for us to know all of this yet... As for how Tellus could know anything...perhaps they sent a message back to him in time like they did the lead serum. And since Starboy was last seen with RJ's Brande's will I'd say the evidence is there is definitely some form of trans temporal communicaton going on.

I'm enjoying the Mon-El story thoroughly...
I'm just not happy with the proposed name change and s-shield...
However, as long as that's stuff is gone by the time Mon-El gets out of the Zone in the Legion's time I can live with it.

...What name change? Did I miss something?..Tho I don't like Mon's S shield having to be there. But I will say that I like the idea of him in the League. Also I'm with ya Superboy, If it's gone when Mon gets out of the zone then hey it's all good.

Maybe he's going to affect a Jamaican accent and call himself Supermon.
Maybe not.

Just remember that L3W was supposed to have been finished like years ago. So Tellus must be on a completely different mission. Or it is just another of the million hanging plots Geoff Johns/Robinson are doing these days.

Have to admit I dropped this already, again, taking too long to get where it was going. So I'm counting on you guys to keep me updated. Spoil away and let me know how things go with our boy Mon.

The annual was the most emotionless piece of drivel IMO and I have ENJOYED the Superman/Mon run. I would never recommend this annual to someone.
For $4 you get:
Nothing new about Mon-El. He apparently was just made aware of and broke up about something in the history of Daxam, but the story didn't tell us anything new about the behavior of his society that he didn't already know, so why all broke up?
As written, supposedly close relationships came out of nowhere and went away just as fast without buildup or meaning. Even Mitch came off cold. That takes purposefull effort.
Art is too subjective for ME to call good or bad but I can judge detail, there is none. If not for a colorist telling his computer where the light is coming from, it would all be terribly flat.
Use of real estate, the splashes: - Lar at a disco. Woo hoo? -Some guys we don't know fighting a bunch of other guys we don't know in a where's waldo scene. -Some guy we don't know and never will know, holding a flag. -3 alien visitors to a primitive planet, this one was dynamically composed but again, no one we know or that will ever be used again. No one with any relationship to Mon-El. - two pages of pictures of planets with ten lines of dialogue over the top. One of the planets is supposed to make us go "ooh," but this has been done in EVERY book of alien visitors. - two people we don't know take three pages to say goodbye then we see it takes another whole page to watch a spaceship land, followed by another whole page to watch weeds grow over the top of the ship.
and then, DC which apparently is so struggling to keep profit margin that they jacked prices up a dollar finds they can afford to spend five pages pimping another book, instead of just a line directing the reader to a websight with the same.
As I wrote, I've really enjoyed the Mon-El stories in Superman but the Annual just doesn't have anything new or dramatic and it's a story told without build-up or drama.

It seemed like Tellus was in that tube at Star Labs for quite awhile.
We all know that Brainy is quite duplicious(not to be confused with delicious) and may know where all of the missing Legionnaires are AND be communicating with, at least, some of them.
I wonder how Lightle is dealing with the resurrection of Tellus and how they're using him. I'd be tickled if Tellus were my creation, but Lightle may be more sensitive to things like the water/swamp issue, than I would be.

Perhaps, I'm not particularly sensitive to it either even though it is a good point.
If Tellus were mine, I'd be proud. I think it's been a heroic depiction. The character has been given higher status IMO.
In Legion Tellus was a role-player. No doubt Brainy is behind this but still Tellus is making things happen. He is affecting other characters as well the big picture.

Has anyone else read Superman #692?
Toward the end, there's a red headed officer named Wilcox at the bar during Mon El's wake, with the other people in Guardian's squad.
She gets 3 pages (+ a panel or so), one page with Guardian and two of her own.
Check it out.

Just read the new issue of Superman...
I can't believe I was so enthused about this series when Mon-El turned up and met Krypto!!!
I just read the comic and can't remember a single thing that happened! It was totally pointless!!!
Sheesh!! This is clearly treading water until World of New Krypton ends. What a snooze-fest!

The first L3W that ws shown in flashback happened years ago but the L3W covered in the 5 part mini happened just before the start of the Legion run in Adventure Comics. That's why in Adventure #2 members of Superboy-Prime's LSV are on Takron Galtos. During L3W, Tellus, Element Lad, Thom, Jeckie were shown as MIA because they were in the 21st Century (possibly with Cham, Tenz etc).

Just finished reading Superman #694. Great issue with a huge Legionnaire reveal:

Hmmm- this reveal hasn't quite created the excitement that the Jeckie one did.
Click Here For A Spoiler I thought Tenzil's part in this story was great! In the face of the manufactured distrust of those wearing the 'S' shield brought about by events surrounding New Krypton, Tenzil 'Mitch' Kem acts as a one-man cheerleading squad, yelling his throat raw to encourage Mon-el's debut wearing the 'S'.
M-E Lad's surrounded by distrustful, though not all that hostile-appearing, Metroplitans.
He has a nice 'uncloaking' moment where he twists his flight ring or something. Unfortuantely, the art didn't make him look or seem all that different. He didn't appear in costume (perhaps he should have?), though he *did* get to display his power by eating a car while Mon-el was unable to break away from his fight to help an endangered civilian and child.
This also showed that Tenzil's much maligned power is actually a dramatic, useful one.
Well-written, though iffily illustrated, debut in this decade for Matter-Eater Lad.
I don't like Mon's new look at all, but it does play well story-wise.

Jeckie's reveal was a very emotional moment and not at all predicted, whereas Mitch's was more a wait for it moment, as he'd pretty much already been fingered. I guess Cham is the last remaining reveal? We did see some attennae and solicits mentioned a durlan from "Our Worlds at War."

There's still Tyroc, Quislet and maybe Infectious Lass. And Dream Girl, if she isn't the teenager in ADVENTURE (hard for me to believe that that's her, but you never know).
