Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part I: Endings and Beginnings: An Era of Immense Transition

When Ultra Matt’s term came to an end in the beginning of February 2003 and the new term began with two co-leaders (Lucien and Stu) and two deputies (Pov and Freekinos), the final term of the LMB’s Year Four continuity began. This would be the biggest era of change in the history of the LMB and in the history of online Legion fandom. Throughout the next few months, change was not only constant, it was enough to truly shake up both communities—to the point, where at the end of the road, one stronger community emerged after a variety of transitions from board to board.

By the change in leadership, LMB continuity reflects the beginning rumblings of change (i.e. the Barbarian Invasions and Corporate Takeover of Earth), however, the change was more sudden in reality. The posters on the DCMB’s suddenly got wind one day that they would be reformatting the message boards, in a way that would make them much harder to use and much more bland than ever before. As posters waited for this to occur, it became apparent that many were not really prepared to stick around in light of all this change.

For the LMB, the only other main home they had was the Yahoo Group, which as ever, remained the home base for LMB shenanigans, so such a major change on the DCMB Legion board largely affected them as much as it did the general online Legion community. Further, the two communities had grown so close together into such a tight overlap that it had gotten to the point that such a major change to one directly mirrored a major change to another.

A solution was presented in the idea to move to “Rob’s Boards”, the message boards of the then moderator at the DCMB’s. Although unsure of such a major transition, the message board posters were so disgusted with the new format of the DCMBs that they largely abandoned them and moved on to this new message board. At first, it worked very well for them, and they received their own forum, even picking their own moderators. However, the time there did not end well, and the majority of posters left Rob’s Boards as quickly as they could after the debacle there (more on this will be covered in each appropriate section).

From there, the LMB and the general online community, which gradually became more and more the same thing, moved to a new home, Ships ‘N Giggles, which was hosted by the then Legion comic book occasional art-team of Tom Feister and Tony Scott. The LMB and many posters stayed there for a time and tried to once again salvage something resembling the old home of the DCMBs, although things never seemed to quite fit.

Finally, a new solution was presented in the form of Legion World. However, that will be covered in the next section (as I let the anticipation build).

Throughout this period of great transition, the LMB endured as always, moving with the general online community from board to board. However, another major change occurred in boards, among the Yahoo Group. Quite suddenly, Yahoo changed its policies and the option of posting artwork online in posts to groups was taken away—creating a total vacuum among the various comic book Yahoo Groups, as this was a major function of them. Some Groups, such as LegionPics, undertook a major campaign to save most of the artwork that had been posted there. The aforementioned LegionPics had nine specific posters trying to salvage all they could, headed by longtime LMBer Greybird, in a truly heroic mission.

The LMB Yahoo Group then saw the beginning of a major decline of activity, which was a first in LMB history. The Yahoo Group would slowly gather less and less traffic, which would culminate in the creation of Legion World. As ever, it would remain the true ‘home base’ of the LMB and main forum for LMB specific related issues, but the loss of posting artwork led to a major decline in activity.

With the loss of the old DCMB’s, the catastrophe at Rob’s Boards and then the quick transition at Ship’s ‘N Giggles, as well as the gradual decline at the Yahoo Group, the LMB once more went through a period of searching for a home, and this time went through a larger series of transitions in a quicker period of time than ever before.

In addition to all of this, the major changes among the LMB roster became more apparent than ever before. Once the major transitions began to occur, more and more posters decided to decrease their posting time, and a lot stopped posting all together. Once Legion World was created, many posters created an account just to be sure they were over there, and then stopped posting all together for long periods of time. The period of transition often left many disenchanted with online posting. Further, some elected to stay behind at the DCMBs, such as Terrence and Mart, and some did not make it for quite a long period of time.

Part II: The Super Jailhouse of Space

Real History
The Super Jailhouse of Space was the third incredibly large tag team thread that followed in the tradition of "Hot Summer Nights" and "Doom of the Super-Heroes". In fact, you can even say the three are a trilogy, although one would have to include "The Omega Man Gambit" (a shorter tag thread that never really took off). The Super Jailhouse of Space has its own history, as it began on Rob's Damn Boards, carried over to Ships 'N Giggles and then eventually made its way to Legion World, where it was finished months later. The tag thread itself mirrors the transition that was felt during this period.

Even though it was finished months after the period it occurs in, it remains during this point in LMB continuity (where some aspects of the story were tweaked for the timeline, i.e. the removal of Cobalt Kid from the story, Varalant was always there, no need to return, etc.).

For a look at this beloved tag team thread, check here for the Super Jailhouse of Space!

In Continuity

Lucien Lad, co-leader of the LMB, takes over a large portion of the team to take care of various problems throughout the universe. He, Raging Bull and former LMB enemy now turned pseudo ally Hummer Lass, stay behind on Fornicatia after completing an important mission there. However, they are soon shocked to learn that the planet has secretly been taken over the LMB’s arch-rivals, the Anti-LMB (from Year Two!), now led by the treacherous Behind-You Boy. Complicating things, they have allied themselves with LMB Nemesis the One Called the One and the villainous Odran, proprietor of the Super Jailhouse of Space!

Lash Lad, who was previously with the three LMBers, is suddenly captured on his return to Earth and brought to the Super-Jailhouse where he meets several fellow prisoners who had had their spirits crushed by Odran's torture, including the once foul-mouthed Potty-Mouth Master (a clone of LMB ally Eryk Davis Ester) who was now a nervous shell of his former self and a wretch of a man claiming to have once been called "Boy Beautiful". In an attempt to free himself from this horrible place, Lash activated the special LMB signal device in his ass.

Responding to Lash’s call, Umber teleported to the signal device at the Super Jailhouse. Soon after, she is helped by LMBer Senor Widebottom, who was also a prisoner of the Super-Jailhouse. Hiding in Senior Widebottom’s humorously oversized pantaloons, Umber is suddenly betrayed by the prisoner known as Obvious Traitor Boy, who is suddenly bitten by a radioactive mongoose and taken to the infirmary. However, Umber and Senior Widebottom are soon captured and then hideously victimized by Odran’s super-fatassing power, while Lash Lad is taken to the anal probe lab.

Lash Lad escaped the anal probe lab when his ass alarm was accidentally activated upon removal, interrupting one of Lardlad's sex romps to teleport him to the lab. He quickly dispatched Odran's thugs and freed Lash, only to teleport back to his activities. Unknown to Lardy, the villain Salad-Tosser Lord had also been transported to the lab, via a stolen LMB communicator he had acquired during a previous adventure. Lash Lad quickly defeats Salad-Tosser Lord and drags his unconscious body to the main cell of the Super-Jailhouse, and dispatches Odran's clones in the room, before Odran himself can react.

Meanwhile, Leap Year Lass, who had also received the distress signal, had assembled a team to rescue Lash Lad, consisting of Space Tart, Beagle Boy, Omega Man, Faraway Lad, Grey Birdboy, and Shady. They had to delay their mission to help Lash, however, to hold scheduled LMB tryouts. The tryouts, which featured applicants Penis-Eradicator Lad, Nads-Kicker Lass, and Bowel Burst Boy, was interrupted by an attack by what seemed to be the LMB's allies, the Light Brigade. With the help of the applicants, the LMB defeated the Light Brigade, only to discover that they were in fact clones of the Light Brigade created on Fornicatia by the evil Behind-You Boy.

The LMBers quickly admitted Penis-Eradicator Lad and Nads-Kicker Lass, who, unknown to them, were secretly spies sent by the One Called the One, into their ranks, and were about to rescue Lash Lad, when suddenly a call came in from Austria (which Kid Prime was currently in the form of) that Entropy Spinach had been sighted. They quickly decided Lash would have to handle himself, and departed for Austria.

Meanwhile, Lash Lad and the other prisoners in the Super-Jailhouse stood facing Odran. By taunting Potty-Mouth Master, Lash restored his vile tongue, which led to his angrily rushing Lash, who quickly stepped out of the way, leading to a collision between Potty-Mouth Master's super-charged mouth and Odran's crotch. The resulting explosion teleported Grey Birdboy from the LMB shuttle that had just reached Austria to the Super-Jailhouse, causing the LMB shuttle to crash in Austria.

Meanwhile, back on Fornicatia, Hummer Lass and Lucien Lad had made a strange discover of an ancient artifact, the Emerald Dildo of Ekkron! They found themselves strangely attracted to one another, and gave into their desires and a few time-distorting flashes of Emerald Energy later, found themselves the proud parents of twin calves, soon changed to normal babies by that ever-beautiful and resourceful Emerald Dildo fairy!

Meanwhile, the anti-LMB had begun phase two of their hideous plan, the invasion of Canada! The army of Fornicatia, known as the Whore Horde, quickly overwhelmed new LMBer Fat Cramer and LMB ally the Labradorian.

Meanwhile, the evil Lisp Lass watches all of the various activities from a base on the far side of the planetoid on which the Super-Jailhouse is located. Realizing that Lisp Lass was a previous identity of the One Called the One, and could not possibly be the same Lisp Lass, Rody the Super-Rat, has been spying on Lisp Lass for his own mysterious reasons. He tries to contact the LMB super-pets for assistance, though the signal was instead intercepted by LMB ally Turns-You-Into-a Country Fred, who contacts LMB HQ for help.

Leap Year Lass, still on duty at LMB HG, realizes that the only way she can deal with all the crises that are presently going on is to split herself into numerous alternate IDs, and send them in pairs to the various crisis points. So LYL and Tarik the Mute's android teleport to the Super-Jailhouse; Mekt Ranzz and Quinn M, Only Child teleport to Fornicatia; Society Girl and Truckstop Debutante teleport to TYIACF’s spaceship; and Triad's Neutral, Purple, and Orange teleport to Canada, along with Hi-Risk von Tingle.

LYL and TtMA nearly turn the tide against Odran, except for the unexpected return of the radioactive-mongoose charged Obvious Traitor Boy, who disposes of everyone present, takes over the Super-Jailhouse, and straps Lash Lad, Grey Birdboy, and Leapy into Dream Machines. Leapy awakes from her dream to realize what was going on, teleports out of the machine, tries to find what happened to fatassed Umber and Senor Widebottom, and so manages to locate the other prisoners in the mines. Just as Boy Beautiful is about to reveal the location of her friends, Obvious Traitor Boy returns and restores his good looks, making him switch his loyalties to Obvious Traitor Boy. Even the presence of the Light Brigade, who had been sent to the Super-Jailhouse after being cloned by the anti-LMB on Fornicatia, fails to turn the tide, because most of them fall prey to Boy Beautiful's boyish good looks.

Meanwhile, the Boyz, having psychically felt Umber's super-fatassing, began scurrying the galaxy for the one person who could save her from this fate, her parallel-universe counterpart Amber, who they tracked to a bar in the far corned of the universe. They found Amber, who dissed them in favor of leaving with her new girlfriend, who appeared to be Jennifer Anniston but is apparently Eryk Davis Ester's parallel-universe gender-reversed evil clone Lucifer Lass.

LardLad, finally putting on his pants, decides the best course of action is to find Eryk Davis Ester, whose true connection to he had only just learned. EDE had previously learned his true origins in “The Omega Man Gambit”, and stormed out of the mission and quit the Light Brigade, after the information appeared to have pushed him over the edge. The rest of the LMB were clueless to the true connection of Lard Lad, Eryk Davis Ester, Pornis, the One Called the One and Lucifer Lass.

As it turns out, EDE had indeed begun to act strange in light of the information he recently received, and appeared to have gone slightly insane! Even more, he strangely began exhibiting never before seen powers! Further, it appeared that Eryk Davis Ester, through his strange family tree had an even more potent connection to the universe than he ever thought—and that all his various clones and parallel selves were just doppelgangers that had been split off from him previously. Lashing out at the world in a crazed frenzy, EDE, assuming the name Eryk Prime, begins ‘re-absorbing’ all of his ‘other selves’, destroying them instantly: quickly, Potty Mouth Master, gay mini-EDE and Ester Rolle are destroyed and absorbed by Eryk Prime. Even stranger, he begins to absorb all of the various alt IDs that Leap Year Lass had sent to help the various LMBers.

Meanwhile, gigantic pruning sheers appeared out of thin space and were about to destroy the Super Jailhouse, when more energy from the Potty Mouth/Odran crotch collision transported them to Austria, where they destroyed the Entropy Spinach and turned Austria back to Kid Prime. LardLad quickly rescues Kid Prime, as the two then travel to Faraway Lad’s secret faraway room (in Horace the whale, although this isn’t mentioned in the story), where they meet up with Amber and Lucifer Lass, whom Lardy has forged an uneasy alliance with to solve the Eryk Prime/Lisp Lass mystery (as Lisp Lass cannot possibly be the One Called the One). Lardy explains that he secretly sent Senior Widebottom to the Super Jailhouse weeks earlier to feign getting caught, so they can use his humorously oversized pantaloons to travel there (as the force field prevents all teleportation there after Lardy’s last appearance), as they were big enough to have a secret entrance to right outside Faraway Lad’s door. They soon appear in the Super Jailhouse and free the super-fatassed Umber, after Lardy takes all the excess fat unto himself.

Eryk Prime next appears on Fornicatia, where we find that Hummer Lass and Lucien Lad have fallen completely in love and have strangely had to twin babies. Eyrk Prime quickly reveals that this is just an illusion as a gay man and an ex-oral-only prostitute would never have sex. However, their two twins are actually the creation of his two new servants: Calamity King and Lester Spiffany! Even worse, Eryk Prime then shows the true side of his power and villainy, and completely destroys the planet Fornicatia! The Anti-LMB, led by Behind You Boy, quickly escape, shocked at the level of evil a LMB ally would show, as Lucien Lad, Hummer Lass, Raging Bull, Mekt Ranzz and Might Quinn M. struggled to find a way to safety, until they are quickly saved by the Emerald Dildo Fairy.

Eventually, all of the LMBers reunite on the Super Jailhouse of Space and dispatch Odran, completely shutting it down. The one final battle takes place against Obvious Traitor Boy, who has the LMB on the ropes, until Bowels Bursting Boy, a new LMB recruit in training, is able to save them—although sacrificing himself in the process and killing Obvious Traitor Boy. LMBer Varalant catches Penis Eradicator Lad and Nads Kicker Lass (agents of the One Called the One) and has Turns You into a Country Fred change them to Austria and Hungary (where they then go on to reform the Austro-Hungarian Empire).

With Odran defeated, Eryk Prime emerges as the true threat to the universe and the LMB, now joined by the Light Brigade and Lucifer Lass, attempt to put some sense into their old friend. Further, Lisp Lass begins her own evil plans, as she begins attacking the LMB and Eryk Prime, mirroring the former battles of Pornis and the One Called the One.

Lisp Lass launches her attack on an unsuspecting LMB and Eryk Prime and the two villains engage in a huge battle. Suddenly, Rody the Super Rat, who had been following Lisp Lass for some time, emerges and leaps into the battle, blasting away Lisp Lass’ façade and revealing her true identity: Blok the Rock, the former member of the LMB Super-Pets!!!

As Blok and Eryk Prime engaged in battle, Lardy turned to the Emerald Dildo Fairy, who quickly produced the Emerald Schlong of Ekron (which he had once wielded in the past), which he used by spraying Blok and Eryk Prime down with an Emerald Shower! The Emerald Shower quickly washed away all traces of Lisp Lass and Blok the Rock returned to his former self. And, for the first time ever in LMB history, the LMB actually had evidence that Blok had actual sentience and wasn’t just a rock!

Eryk Prime, after being stunned, is quickly taken by Lucifer Lass and LardLad, who engulfs them all in the Lardforce, blocking the LMB from seeing them. There, the three explore the true nature of their origins and connections to Pornis and the One Called the One, and allow Eryk to come to terms with his past and his relation to such cosmic forces in the universe. Finally, EDE calms down, and Lucifer Lass reveals that the evil of Eryk Prime was actually the lingering essence of Pornis, who had transferred a large portion of his evil to both EDE and Lardy!

Lardy, not wanting his brother to have the same evil side that he knows he possesses (after all of these years), uses the Lardforce to absorb any of Pornis’ lingering evil into himself. EDE is now cured and no longer feels evil at all—and is finally at peace. Lucifer Lass strangely appears to have some sort of quiet understanding with the two (who are really like her brothers in a way), and she departs from them.

After the battle:
1. The LMB reaffirm their long-standing order that the Super-Pets should be disbanded, as they don’t want to see their pets sacrifice themselves. Blok the Rock is readmitted as a member before this happens.

2. Eryk Davis Ester, now sane again and at peace, and having been an ally of the LMB for four very major adventures, is formally inducted into the group as a full-time member of the LMB.

3. LardLad is a little surer of his origins and questions if his connection to Pornis is part of the reason he has always felt subtle inclinations to the dark side (and why every alternate reality version of Lardy has always been evil).

4. The LMB finally put the long-standing cases of Pornis, The One Called the One and Lucifer Lass to a close for the time being, knowing full well that the story is most likely not over.

The LMBers under Lucien Lad's direction in this portion of the universe return home to the Outpost to see what the other three-fourths of the team have done in their absence.

Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part III: Adventures and Anecdotes during the Roman Tetrarchy Term

At the onset of this term of leadership, the LMB finds itself with numerous threats coming in every direction. To deal with this, a new type of leadership is chosen: two Leaders and two Deputy Leaders of the LMB. The LMBers are scattered accordingly to each leader and the team is pulled in various directions. Mid-way through several rough ordeals and still reeling from the many departures of long-time LMBers, including the much beloved Seahorse, as well as the death of Cobalt Kid, the LMB enter a period of immense hardship.

- Fat Cramer debuts as a brand new superstar member of the LMB! The first feline full-fledged LMBer, she quickly wins the respect of her fellow LMBers and the feline community.

- The LMB become acquainted by the ever majestic and aloof Mekt Ranzz who impresses a significant portion of the membership (and entices a few others). Although they offer him membership to join, he declines.

- At this point, Lucien Lad pulls a significant portion of the LMB away to deal with the crisis in “The Super Jailhouse of Space”.

- The Barbarian Invasions begin getting closer to parts of the UP that the LMB and the Allies of the LMB inhabit. Iron Rat, the other co-leader of the LMB, authorizes Poverty Lad and Freekinos, the two deputy leaders to take a very large portion of the membership to deal with these various threats.

- With the departure of a large portion of the LMB, it appears the corporations of Earth are prepared to start making bold moves. Iron Rat takes the remaining LMBers in this section of the universe to Earth to investigate (Lost in Lust Lad, Crusader, Dial H for Homo, Looks that Kill Lad and Princess Crujectra).

Enemies External Poverty Lad and Freekinos travel to the far reaches of the universe with Ultra Matt, Rhino, Beagle Boy, Sketch Lad, Duplicate Man, Mondo Joe X and Thanagerian, who are the only active LMBers not currently occupied. To their horror, they learn that the Barbarian Invasions are far closer to the civilized universe than previously thought, and the armies are far larger as well. Even more, the armies are not actually one main enemy, but a plethora of invading forces, each one vying for their own section of the universe. In addition, the term ‘Barbarian’ hardly applies, as some races are very sophisticated and incredibly efficient and dangerous. The LMBers pitch in wherever they can to help, and are quickly joined by some of their newfound Allies from the Hero Community, as well as the Light Brigade and Kid Gender Stereotype Reversal II. As time goes on, the battle proves to be impossible, as the enemies are too numerous. The only thing that could stop them is an organized, united universe.

Enemies Internal Iron Rat leads the espionage investigations of the Corporations of Earth, and is aided by LMB Reservist Mystery Lad, along with LMBers Lost in Lust Lad, Looks that Kill Lad, Dial H for Homo, Princess Crujectra and Crusader. Their investigations prove fruitless however, as a full-fledged Corporate Takeover of Earth quickly unfolds and the corporations make their move. The LMB defend the denizens of Earth as best they can, but are unable to fight back the mega Corporations of Earth that control all aspects of society. A mass exodus off Earth begins, as many members of the larger Hero Community leave Earth for the first time. Some heroes decide to stay to stick it out, like Blockade Boy, and are wished well on their way.

The Schism between Earth and the LMB It soon appears that the LMB will have no place on Earth. The Corporations of Earth engineer a massive coup among Earthgov and Earthgov quickly cedes from the United Planets. Fearing what is to come next, Iron Rat and Crusader decide on issuing a direct order that all LMBers are too pull out of Earth and remove themselves strictly to the LMB Outpost (which hovers near Earth), along with any loved ones that wish to come (for example, Crusader’s boyfriend Maxx). At this point, LMBers Lost in Lust Lad and Dial H for Homo, long-time inhabitants of Earth, decide that they will remain behind and act as agents of the LMB on Earth in the upcoming times of trouble, no matter what happens. They bid their friends farewell, and remove their active status from the LMB.

Historical Note- At this point, the DC Boards began to come to an end (please see the next section for the real history of this event), and the two LMBers Mart and Terrence, both longtime posters on the DC Boards, elected to stay behind and continue to post there.

Refugees With the universe in a total state of panic, the various teams of LMBers begin to meet back up. Eryk Davis Ester, who was recently Eryk Prime, begins to emerge as a major leader among the LMB. Many of the Allies of the LMB, such as Lightning Lad and Fiery Jack, begin pitching in and spending more time with the LMB. On the return trip to Earth, both Lucien Lad’s team and the Deputy Leaders teams become aware that the LMB must now report directly to the Outpost and no longer go to Earth. After such an onslaught of negative recent events, Shady takes this opportunity to take a leave of absence from the team for some time off. The entire active membership of the LMB, with some of their allies, arrives at the Outpost to decide their next move, when they learn that Earthgov has issued them a direct order: ‘Disband Now, or Be Subject to Arrest’.

Note- These events carry directly into “LMB: Lost”, which shall be discussed in detail in the next three sections.

Part IV: The End of the DC Boards

In the Spring of 2003, the DC Boards as the posters there knew them, came to an end.

After many years of reliability and a birthplace for serious and fun discussions, the DC Message Boards underwent a new policy that completely changed the format of all of the discussion boards. The new format, to keep in line with the bureaucratic order of uniformity, was dull, harder to use and quite frankly nowhere near as fun. This change was so potent, that many longtime posters on the DCMBs left behind posting all together, and more than one that stayed considered doing the same thing.

This affected not only the LMB, but the online Legion fan community at large. Ever since the change two years earlier, the Legion forum had maintained a steady degree of activity and had grown into a forum with a unique, distinct personality. Even before that, when it was two boards (the LSH and L* Boards), this was a predominant attribute. The LMB, which had been through a wide variety of homes throughout its existence, once more faced the reality that they were losing the message board that they most frequented and once again would be without a home. However, this time the decision to look for a new home did not lie strictly among LMBers on the Yahoo Group, but became a DCMB board wide discussion.

The solution, which was eventually reached, would be to move to the personnel message boards of the DCMB Moderator, Rob Kamphausen, who gladly welcomed all the posters there in. While many elected to stay behind on the DCMBs (i.e. Terrence and Mart), a large majority pushed to continue on at “Rob’s Damn Boards”. This change was not an easy transition however, as many posters were lost in limbo, unsure of where everyone had gone to.

While many posters from the DCMBs came to Rob’s Damn Boards, the Legion-oriented posters in particular clung together, both LMB and non-LMB, and looked to gain their own forum on Rob’s Board’s. Eventually, after proving that they could keep enough of a flow of steady traffic, they were granted this. This transition to Rob’s Boards was by no means easy, as the ‘anything goes’ attitude there was fun to many, although a turn off to equally as many. Without anywhere to post, however, this was pretty much a moot point.

For a few months, online Legion fandom (or at least, the portion of it that pertains to this narrative) found a new home on Rob’s Damn Boards. Among this group, was a smaller group of posters that were known as the LMB. However, the lines between the LMB and the rest of the posters, which had already begun to blur quite a bit in recent months, now became almost unrecognizable. The two groups, which were never truly distinct to begin with, had really begun to merge into one larger group.

This new home, however, was not destined to last. After only a brief period there, the new home for this community exploded into a frenzy and left many with a disgusted taste in their mouths. Since the point of this entire history is to focus on the enjoyable moments, there once again is really no need to go into the details here. But after a short respite, the community found itself at odds with another group on Rob’s Damn Boards, which resulted in a major decrease in enjoyment, and then a mass exodus from Rob’s Boards for the majority of posters.

Once again, the LMB and the community were without a home. However, the time spent looking for, finding and then losing a second online ‘home’ to post on, had furthered an important trend—the continual melding of the posters (including those in the LMB) into a true ‘community’. Once more, a new home would be found, and once more it would be brief (and will be covered in two sections)…however, the community now existed. All it needed as a home.

Part V: LMB Lost

In Continuity:

After losing many members, and surrounded by threats both external and internal, the LMB called an emergency meeting to discuss the next plan of action. Exhausted, unsure and fearful of what was to come, they had some degree of relief in knowing that many of their allies had joined them in this meeting. The Barbarians had invaded the universe and were pillaging, and Earth had been completely taken over by the Corporations. The Edict came down from Earthgov: Disband the LMB or be Subject to Arrest.

1. By Earth Betrayed

“No” Without much debate, the LMB knew what their response would have to be. A stern ‘No’ was sent back to Earthgov with a firm “then come and get us.” Immediately, the LMB sent out a general alarm to all past LMBers to answer, in hopes that their numbers would be strengthened.

The Exodus of Alt IDs Almost immediately, a propaganda campaign was launched on Alt IDs throughout the Earthgov section of the universe, sponsored by the Corporations now in control. The LMB immediately feared for the safety of their various alt ID members. After much discussion and heated arguments, a conclusion was reached: Raging Bull would take Homecoming Queen, Umber & the Boyz, Non-Sequitor, Senior Widebottom and the 3 Triads to somewhere safe for Alt IDs, were he would be joined by other alt IDs associated with the LMB, such as Rody the Super-Rat and Bucky the Super-Beaver. These LMBers reluctantly, and quite sadly, left the fold. Two Alt IDs that refused to leave were Space Tart and Princess Crujectra, who would not allow themselves to leave at this time.

The Return of Loser Lad When it happened, it shocked them, and gave them just the burst of confidence they needed. Loser Lad, who had been absent from the LMB since the end of its second year, had finally made his triumphant return to the LMB. At a time of major upheaval and insecurity, Loser Lad’s return triggered the will to fight that the LMB needed.

The Return of Grey Birdboy Another LMBer answered the call, and once more, Grey Birdboy returned to the fold, rejoining his comrades. His words were simple: “if this is the end of all things, then I will end it with all of you.”

The Great Rift The Corporations of Earth, making their own preparations for the Barbarian Invasions, had commissioned a series of highly theorized and untested scientific creations to help strengthen their arsenal. With the LMB now pitted against them, they unleashed one of their most potent, although it had never been tested. The Anti-Matter Cannon, a ferocious weapon, was positioned against the LMB. Before it could be used however, the LMB attacked Earthgov and tore it apart. It exploded, however, and a major rift opened up: the entire universe, it appeared, was to be sucked into the horrific vacuum.

The Death of Space Tart By large, things looked grim and there was not much time. Allies of the LMB joined them, as they fought to keep the vacuum from destroying everything. It was Space Tart, the LMB Bombshell that made the final move. Flying into the rift she used her awesome powers to pull things from people’s asses on the universe itself! Throwing Eryk Davis Ester and LardLad back among the rest of the LMB, Space Tart cried out that she’d be reunited with Cobalt Kid, and saved the universe—although she was soon completely consumed by Entropy. The longtime LMBer and much beloved friend had died.

Lost With the Rift closed and the universe saved, the LMB found themselves being sucked into the vacuum, unsure of where they would end up. Space Tart’s sacrifice ensured their safety, although the majority of the LMB and a large portion of their allies disappeared.

Dispersed throughout the Universe The majority of the LMB were believed gone and maybe dead, although some were left behind. In addition to those not on the active roster, Varalant, Mondo Joe X and Thanagerian did not join the LMB to the Anti-Matter Universe, and were left, like many others, to fend for themselves in the newly dangerous old universe.

2. The Anti-Matter Universe

LMB Lost The LMBers reemerged in a new universe, the Anti-Matter Universe. It was dark, harsh and provided no comfort, and almost immediately, they were attacked by the denizens there. Counting on one another, they pulled tightly together to defend themselves.

The Home of the Anti-Moderator Very soon, the LMB learned that they were now inhabitants of the Anti-Moderator’s homeworld. Still feeling bitter hatred towards him after his heinous acts on the Remarkable Worlds of Phineas B. Fuddle, the LMB mentally prepared for an upcoming battle.

To Build a Community Struggling to adapt to this new world, in addition to feelings of being lost and possibly never going home, the LMB and their allies began to form their own community. This community became one that was not strictly LMB dominated, but equally run by both. New ‘Chiefs’ were picked among the group to be Lightning Lad, Eryk Davis Ester, Lash Lad and Leap Year Lass.

Allies Many that were formally not official LMBers began to act in this capacity, although there were no formal inductions or anything of that sort. Nightcrawler, Matlock, Man from Cargg and others quickly fulfilled this capacity. Fiery Jack undertook the new moniker of A Jar of Cardinals, using his knowledge of espionage to make this new identity work to his advantage. Longtime LMBer Mystery Lad (the former founder Tsarin Lad), who had served as a reserve member for some time, also joined this community and rejoined his old colleagues as a full-time member again.

The Naturals Most dangerous of all in this new universe was the Naturals, the personal bodyguard of the enemy. Prone to fighting and violence, they looked for reasons to attack, causing a gradual animosity build-up between the two camps.

The Changing Roster of the LMB Those in the LMB at this point often reflected on how much had changed in so little time. In recent months, a major portion of the membership had left, including Shady and Seahorse, and both Cobalt Kid and Space Tart had died. Loser Lad and Grey Birdboy had returned, while almost all of the Alt Ids had dispersed. New members Eryk Davis Ester and Kid Prime quickly became prominent, as those that were once new in years two and three, such as Poverty Lad, Iron Rat and Ultra Matt reflected on how they had truly become ‘old school’.

3. War

The Destruction of the Community The tension with the Naturals finally burst forth, as the Natruals invaded the community and attempted to destroy it completely. They nearly succeeded.

The battle with the Naturals Immediately, the LMB and their Allies fought back and a bloody melee ensued. In the end, the LMB was victorious, but realized that they would have to leave the Anti-Matter Universe as soon as possible.

Exit Omega Man Omega Man, who had been a member of the LMB for the last year, departed from the team at this time, electing to stay behind in the Anti-Matter Universe.

Lo, the Anti-Moderator With the LMB immensely close to escape, the Anti-Moderator finally appeared before them to destroy them. Years of hurt and anguish came rushing back and a major battle exploded. In the end, the Anti-Moderator was not only defeated, but finally destroyed. However, some of those that fought so powerfully in the battle, such as LardLad, Duplicate Man, Loser Lad, Freekinos and others, were left with serious injuries that hindered their ability to fight on.

The Return Using the genius of Mystery Lad, newcomer ally Sanity or Madness?, a bright young superstar named Juan and a few others, the LMB threw together a rag-tag contraption to attempt to return home. Praying for deliverance, the device worked, and restored the LMB to their universe.

Hunted, External and Internal The Naturals, outraged at the destruction of their liege, organized the largest army ever assembled and prepared to march on into the Positive Matter Universe. They began hunting the LMB. Further, the LMB’s return to the positive matter universe meant a return to being hunted by the authorities that they once served. Once more, they were on the run (this will be covered in the next two sections).

Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part VI: Ships ‘N Giggles

Real History:

Following the exodus from Rob’s Boards, the community once again was without a home. At this time things were happening fast too—people were coming and going, and it seemed that if a solution was not found quickly, too many people would be lost by the wayside. The LMB Yahoo Group served as a good forum for debate, but it was still largely used by only a handful of LMBers at this point, while a great deal of others had no idea how to follow the discussion there.

Previously, Eryk Davis Ester had been approached by Tom Feister (one half of one of the current art-teams on the Legion comic book, along with Tony Harris) who told him that it would be pretty cool if he could start one of those threads similar to “Hot Summer Nights” and “Doom of the Super-Heroes” (re: LMB Tag Threads) on their own board, called “Ships ‘N Giggles”.

Following the debacle on Rob’s Boards, EDE recalled this, and ventured over there to see how the site was. Seeing that it could act as a new home as well, he used the various channels of communication available to spread the word, and eventually many people began making it over there.

For a brief period of time, “Ships ‘N Giggles” served as the basic home for many online Legion posters, and the two comic book creator owners were very generous to have them there.

However, many people were still left with a bad taste in their mouth from Rob’s Boards, many people really were ‘lost’ in that they didn’t know where to find the other posters and some could not deal with the site because it was too graphics heavy—a recurring problem in finding websites to host message board posting over the years.

While all of this was going on, other posters were coming up with their own solutions. Nightcrawler decided that it was time to take direct control of a message board, and contacted a few others, such as Lightning Lad and Kid Prime, to save the online Legion fan community as best they could. It was at this time that the idea for Legion World was birthed into existence.

Note- the Creation of Legion World will receive its own distinct section in this timeline.

Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part VII: LMB on the Run

In Continuity:

The LMB return to their positive universe to find that the universe is in more chaos than ever. The Corporations of Earth have taken over Earthgov and ceded from the UP, pitting the two against one another. Further, the Corporations have pulled the majority of their financial resources out of the rest of the universe, bringing on immense poverty and hunger.

The Barbarian Hordes continue to invade in various directions, and seem to have no uniform goal or logic—they war with one another as much as they do with the lands they are conquering.

The LMB has been disbanded and made illegal. Any LMBer, ally or super-hero caught is to be arrested on the spot. Betrayed and hunted, the LMB now goes on the run from the authorities.

The Secret Plan of Nightcrawler Nightcrawler, who had become prominent in the community for some time, including the stay in the Anti-Matter Universe, comes up with his own plan at this time to find a home. He quietly exits the group, only telling Lightning Lad his plan of action. They make secret plans to tell Kid Prime and Princess Crujectra to bring in the LMB at a later time.

On the Run The LMB and their allies escape through the universe, pursued by enemies. Attempting to maintain some degree of coherence, they follow the lead of Eryk Davis Ester, who remembers his old pirate allies from his days of travel.

The One Elected to Stay Behind The LMB decide that it is time to abandon the Outpost for the time being, and prepare to close up shop. However, a deep fear overcomes them that many of their number that are lost to them will be stuck behind enemy lines—afterall, not everyone had made it through the terrible ordeal still with the group. The logical place any LMBer would go would be the LMB Outpost. Thus, it is decided that one member should remain behind to operate the Outpost in the absence of the team. It is longtime LMB Founder and trusted member Crusader, who finally volunteers. Electing to stay behind with his boyfriend Maxx, Crusader bids his best friends and sister a sad farewell, and promises to do his best to direct those lost in their direction.

The Pirate Community of Ships ‘N Giggles After a few brief battles with the authorities, as well as with some Barbarian scavengers, the remaining LMBers and whatever allies they can find make it to the Pirate Community of Ships ‘N Giggles. Fearing what is to come and agonizing over how terrible things have gotten, they settle down for a period of dry gin and melancholy to decide what to do next.

No Leader for the LMB At this point, it became time to elect new leaders of the LMB. However, no members made mention of this at all—in fact, many did not appear to even remember. Many members had left or were lost, some had died and some were too wounded from the battle with the Anti-Moderator to function on a daily basis. The constant flux of who was around, whether official LMBer or unofficial LMB ally, made it seem that electing a leader would be an official waste of time. For the time being, the election was put on hold.

At this point along the timeline, the story continues directly into the next section, as the LMB and their allies come together on Legion World.

Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part VIII: The LMB under the Roman Tetrarchy

Here is the LMB roster at the exact time that the Roman Tetrarchy term of leadership came to an end:

Lucien Lad (co-leader)
Iron Rat (aka Stu) (co-leader)
Poverty Lad (co-deputy leader)
Freekinos (co-deputy leader)
Lash Lad
LardLad
Mystery Lad
Princess Crujectra*
Grey Birdboy
Rhino
Beagle Boy
Loser Lad
Sketch Lad
Looks that Kill Lad
Faraway Lad
The Boy with Ultra Powers
Duplicate Man
Leap Year Lass (aka Thriftshop Debutante)
Eryk Davis Ester
Kid Prime
Quislet, Esq.
Fat Cramer

*With the decision of Cru to use his Princess Crujectra ID more than his Crusader ID, I’ve replaced Crusader’s ‘spot’ on the roster with Princess Crujectra, to signify the time period in which he joined (this will remain this way throughout the rest of this narrative).

**LMB Continuity at this point would infer that there were no members of the active reserve, as there was no official way to contact them.

At this point, it’s really impossible to differentiate when other posters became ‘official members’ of the LMB, since such an actual event never happened. Therefore, I plan to do this in the next section, even though there is no real date for when this happened, other the arguement that it is the day that Legion World first opened.

Nonetheless, here is a rough estimate of who the ‘Allies of the LMB’ were at this point (re: those who were at the various boards).

Nightcrawler
Matlock
Man from Cargg
Minesurfer (aka Peg of Legs)
He Who Wanders
Lightning Lad
Sanity or Madness
A Jar of Cardinals (aka Fiery Jack, Outdoor Miner)
Sonnie Bloke
Googoomuck
Lancerealm
Rickshaw
White Raven (aka Kat)
Tromium Crystal
NumberoneLegionfan
DrakeB3001
Omni Craig
Star Boy
LoneWolfLondo

Year Four: The Roman Tetrarchy Term
Part IX: Summary of Year Four

The LMB at the beginning of their Year Four Continuity was vastly different from the LMB at the end of it. This is by far the year with the greatest amount of change in LMB history. It must also be noted that Year Four in LMB Continuity was actually a year and three months in real time, when most other ‘years’ in LMB continuity were really not even a year at all.

From the onset of Cobalt Kid’s term to the close of the “Roman Tetrarchy” term, change remained constant. Cobalt Kid’s term marked the close of a period that can really be lumped together with Seahorse, Stu and Faraway Lad’s terms, which had seen the reemergence of a reenergized LMB. Towards the close of Cobalt Kid’s term and throughout Ultra Matt’s, the roster of the LMB continued to change as some members became more prominent and other decreased their activity. Many longtime posters, such as Kid Therod, Dedman, Yellow Kid, Cobalt Kid, eventually Shady and particularly Seahorse took a leave of absence from the LMB. Thriftshop Debutante became notably active, as did Eryk Davis Ester and Kid Prime, who were prominent members toward the close of this year.

Although the roster continued to change, however, the spirit of the LMB did not. In fact, the idea of maintaining a large group of friends that enjoyed talking about the same hobby (among other things) began to incorporate the idea that it would work even better with a much larger, expanded community.

The gradual combining of the LMB and the larger online Legion fan community had begun on the old DCMBs, but had truly accelerated when the crossover from boards began to occur during the final months of this year. By the time Legion World was created, one larger community had emerged. The gift of Legion World would further serve to make this a true community.

The LMB, coming out of Year Four, had seen an increased amount of change in appearance although little in spirit. This LMB at the end of Year Four was among the very first posters to enter Legion World.

Year Five: Legion World
Part I: The Creation of Legion World

Real History

After a tumultuous period of a few months bouncing from message board to message board, many posters had become disenchanted with message board posting in general, especially in light of the recent events on Rob’s Board. Some posters had made their way to “Ships ‘N Giggles” and were glad to have found a community again, although this message board did not have the feel of the old Legion DCMB that many posters were nostalgic for. Likewise, many of the LMB regrouped at the LMB Yahoo Group, as they had always done in the past, to try and figure where they could find another home. This time, however, the focus shifted to the idea of finding a message board for the online Legion fan community at large, not just an LMB-centric MB.

It was Nightcrawler who offered everyone the best alternative ever put forth before them. Nightcrawler approached Lightning Lad, with his own idea of how to get back the feeling of community, and this time, to actually have an active hand in controlling it. Previously, Lightning Lad's own website "Lightning Lad's Legion" had become popular among the online fan community (it also incorporated Legion reviews by Mystery Lad and later He Who Wanders). And so Legion World was purchased and created, as a new website to act as a message board for the community at large. This time, it would be run by the posters, who could have an active say in what they wanted on their message board, and would be moderated by posters that had come to earn the trust of the community over the years. Legion World held the old format of the DCMBs, but was immensely expanded upon to be something truly special. Nightcrawler and Lightning Lad truly saved the online community and gave it the best gift they could ever have received—there is truly no way that this can be overstated. As months have come and gone in the days since, the posters of Legion World have continued to thank them for this, and will continue to do so, as no amount of thanks will ever be enough.

Nightcrawler and Lightning Lad soon brought on a few others to help get the website together. They brought in Kid Prime, an LMBer and prominent member of the general community and he and Saturn Girl rounded out the original Legion World Founders. Cru (aka Newcru/Princess Crujectra/Crusader), one of the most prominent LMBers and often times ‘spiritual leader of the LMB’ was also brought in immediately, and they soon opened up Legion World to everyone. To say the reaction was that people were literally blown away is a vast understatement. Legion World quickly became a new home. It was fresh and it was new, and it was absolutely more than anyone could have ever wished for.

The LMB and the general online community flooded into Legion World, quickly registering and joining up.

In Continuity

With the LMB on the Run, and now joined by a wide variety of allies and friends, they attempted to find some way to regroup at Ships ‘N Giggles. A large portion of their membership had been lost to them, and it had become hard for any real ‘regrouping’ to occur.

It was Nightcrawler who offered them salvation. Previously, he had left the group upon the return from the Anti-Matter Universe and had developed his own plan of action. Contacting fellow hero Lightning Lad, they purchased a backwater planet in a slightly remote section of the universe, knowing full well the potential that this planet could have. Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad’s wife, quickly joined them, rounding out the group and they dubbed the planet Legion World. Their plan was heroic: to offer a sanctuary to the larger community and to anyone seeking a place for friendly conduct, to escape the daily spite and negativity that the universe seemed to be producing at the time. This place could act as a home that all would have a hand in running, with the founders guiding the way.

Upon the creation of Legion World, they soon opened their gates to those they knew were in trouble, and spread word. Kid Prime and Princess Crujectra, two members of the LMB, were contacted immediately and told of this new sanctuary, and the two quickly passed word to the LMB. The LMB bid farewell to the pirate community of Ships ‘N Giggles, and ventured to Legion World to finally find a home once more.

Other members of the community that had become disheveled throughout the previous months were informed of this new place, and quickly made their way to Legion World for a chance to live in peace once more.

Legion World had opened, and the founders guided the membership at large to come join them.

Year Five: Legion World
Part II: The Great Migrations

Real History

Quickly word spread of Legion World and the new message board. People had become so enthusiastic and so happy with the website that it became an immediate mission to try and bring people in that were missing.

As word spread, more people made it a mission to go to the various websites, Yahoo Groups, and message boards (including the new DCMBs) to inform them of the new home. It often took awhile for people to become aware of Legion World, but once they did, most did not hesitate in coming over to explore the website—and were blown away by the amount of fun it was.

A gradual flow of old posters and new posters began immediately and people continued to come over. Old posters that had not been seen in a longtime were among them, such as Shark Lad. Lurkers that had never really actively gotten involved soon de-lurked and joined in, such as Semi Transparent Fellow and Super Lad Kid. Eventually, most of the online Legion fan community at large was able to make its way to Legion World.

As people were converted from the DCMBs, the Legion message board there began to fall by the wayside. The old board, which had been bursting with energy and a large community truly did cease to exist on the DCMBs—as those posters could largely be found now on Legion World.

The LMB Yahoo Group, which had always been the true ‘home base’ for the LMB throughout its history and indeed in its darkest times, saw a gradual decrease in activity. The LMB largely posted on Legion World, and most of LMB business could be talked about there. Further, the Yahoo Groups had initiated a policy that did not allow members to post artwork any longer. Essentially, this was the hardest blow to the activity on the Yahoo Groups, because it was largely one of the main reasons people posted on those sites. With Legion World offering this as well, the Yahoo Group became less and less active. However, it remains open to this day, and continues to serve as a place to escape to when Legion World is down. Further, it remains the ‘home base’ for the LMB, and is always there for discussions and a place of refuge.

In addition to the LMB Yahoo Groups, other Yahoo Groups lost the majority of there activity because of the change in policy. LegionPics, the group with the most artwork on it, was filled with a tremendous amount of beautiful artwork that needed to be saved. Nine posters, headed by Greybird, volunteered to save as much as they could and store it elsewhere, and began this process. This noble act has served to keep as much artwork alive as possible.

In Continuity

Throughout the universe, word spread. There was a sanctuary for anyone that could get to it, although the journey would often be rough. With Barbarian Hordes invading everywhere throughout the universe and Earthgov’s refusal to cooperate with the UP, it had become very unsafe to journey.

Many LMBers and other members of the community remained lost for a time, not hearing about Legion World for the first few months of its existence, although actively trying to get their once they did. Crusader remained at the Outpost to help guide journeymen onward and other LMBers tried to visit him from time to time to help.

As LMBers and others became members of the Legion World community, it became highly important to find all the lost friends over the years and bring them over. Many members had left in the recent months, but there were many others that had been gone for even longer.

This process of migration was gradual with brief explosions of activity, as Legion Worlders continued to search for past friends and welcome new ones.

Year Five: Legion World
Part III: The Blurring of the LMB and Legion World

Real History

The LMB largely began posting on Legion World, where they were joined by the other members of the online Legion community that they had come to know so well. Essentially, it had truly become one larger community, especially in light of the changes in boards from the DCMBs to Rob’s Boards to Ships ‘N Giggles and now to Legion World. Upon posting at Legion World, there was no real way to see any split between the two groups, as they had begun to be essentially the same thing (there really would be no way for any new member to be able to tell differently).

This blurring of the lines between the LMB and the rest of Legion World occurred gradually in the months leading up to the creation of Legion World, and really happened overnight in the early days of its creation. There never was an official ‘induction’ of these members, and there never really needed to be. They were by no means ‘new’ members, as most had been posting aside the ‘official’ LMB for some time.

Thus, the LMB proper and Legion World melded into one coherent group. For the duration of this narrative from the point forward, any reference to the LMB will refer to the entire group, which includes all of the Legion Worlders that participate.

In Continuity

Upon the settling of Legion World, the new focus of the LMB and the Legion Worlders was the further creation of the planet they were residing on. Buildings had to be built, infrastructure needed to be established and a government needed to be structured. Basically, all of the key components of a society needed to be put in place.

Princess Crujectra (with her brother Crusader’s consent) donated a large sum of money to be used for this venture, taken from the Royal Heirloom of the House of Jectra. With this currency available to them, the Legion Worlders began putting in place the building blocks of the community.

Many LMBers that had been badly hurt in the battle with the Anti-Moderator, as well as others that were just completely exhausted, settled on Legion World, but then took a brief period of absenteeism from the LMB. Looking to get healthy and regain some structure in their lives, they dedicated their time to the continual structuring of Legion World. Thus, LardLad, Loser Lad, Beagle Boy, Duplicate Man and Freekinos, while making it to Legion World, took some brief time off from the daily battles of the LMB.

However, the greatly thinned ranks of the LMB did not suffer from a lack of members, for they had a vast array of allies and friends that basically served the same purpose as ‘official’ members. The LMB, smaller than it had ever been and with no official leader, realized that there was little point in not including all of these allies among the official roster, since they had been virtually members for some time now anyway.

At this point, this was the active membership of the LMB:

Lash Lad
Mystery Lad
Princess Crujectra
Grey Birdboy
Rhino
Sketch Lad
Looks that Kill Lad
Lucien Lad
Faraway Lad
Iron Rat (aka Stu)
The Boy with Ultra Powers
Poverty Lad
Leap Year Lass (aka Thriftshop Debutante)
Eryk Davis Ester
Kid Prime
Quislet, Esq.
Fat Cramer

The Induction in one big ceremony, this small group of LMBers made official the induction of their allies and friends, including the founders of Legion World into their membership. Laughing at the idea of being ‘new’, these longtime allies filled out the ranks of a depleted LMB.

These members were formally inducted:

Nightcrawler
Matlock
Man from Cargg
Minesurfer
He Who Wanders
Lightning Lad
Saturn Girl
Sanity or Madness
Outdoor Miner (who was formally known as Fiery Jack and A Jar of Cardinals, but had taken on a new moniker)
Arachne
Sonnie
Googoomuck
Lancerealm
Rickshaw
Juan
White Raven
Tromium Crystal
NumberoneLegionfan
DrakeB3001
Omni Craig
Star Boy
LoneWolfLondo
Rokk steady
Italian Boy
Awkward Pause Boy
Caleb
Bubble Wrap Boy
Superboymddjr
Portfolio Boy

Note- from this point forward, I will continue to end each section with “The LMB Under…” However, this will not be all those who were registered during this period at Legion World, but rather, those that were actively posting during this period to be considered an ‘active member’. For instance, some posters signed up at one time but truly began posting at another. Granted, this is a hard line to follow and ambiguous, which is why I will rely on others to help make sure I have things right.

Year Five: Legion World
Part IV: The Early Days of Legion World (Real History)

With Legion World established and the LMB (both old and new) settled in, the place exploded with enthusiasm and energy. These earliest days of Legion World saw the further development of the website, mainly carried out by Nightcrawler and the other founders, as it became structured in the same manner that it is today. Also, a variety of other traditions began on the website that are still relevant.

A New Home
Above all else, Legion World quickly became the new home for everyone. Moreso than the old DCMB Legion Forum, it really felt like Legion World was a place for the posters. For old time LMBers, Legion World seemed to fit much like the old L* Board and Emessage forum did, but even more so. It was apparent from the onset that the opinion was the same across the board: this was truly our new home. For that alone, every poster to have journeyed to Legion World has always, and will always, pay thanks to Nightcrawler and Lightning Lad and the rest.

Everyone’s Own Room
At the beginning, new posters quickly jumped into the craziness of filling Legion World up with threads, and it became enjoyably hectic to figure out where everyone was throughout the boards. One thread, the Mission Monitor Board , became central to keeping track of this.

A new tradition began with the creation of new threads by posters that essentially created their ‘own room’, or rather, their own thread that welcomed posts by others. These threads more often than not had a central theme to them, such as “ Kid Prime\'s Room ” centering on Transformers in addition to casual fun posting and “ Lardy\'s Lair ” centered on sex-filled antics. There were a great many of these rooms, some still remaining active to this day, many largely abandoned although occasionally bumped to bring some enjoyable nostalgia.

Some Examples
Kid Prime\'s Room
Lardy\'s Lair
matlock\'s attic
Outdoor Miner\'s Off-hand Manor
EDE\'s Room
A Faraway Room

Splitting Legion World into Forums
Early on, Nightcrawler began splitting Legion World into different forums based on the content of the topics. In doing so, he choose trusted long-time posters to act as moderators in these various forums. To this day, the split in forums continues to be honed to suit the needs of the website as Nightcrawler sees fit (with the advice of the Legion World population in general).

Some changes have been made since the beginning, including the deletion of the “Trophy Room”, which used to house the “The Secret Trophy Room Thread” for a time and “Calling the Roll” which featured excellent and much loved reviews of current Legion issues by Mystery Lad, which are now seen and highlighted in the Legion Forum.

In the beginning, each creator was also given their own forum, such as Dave Cockrum and Steve Lightle, two of the Legion greats to have made it to Legion World. However, over time more and more creators would journey to Legion World and a new forum was created to house all of them, “Visionaries of Tomorrow”.

On Legion World, the majority of LMB history takes place exclusively on “The Mission Monitor Board” (which is highly similar to the old L* Board) and “Bits O’ Legionnaire Business” which is home to fiction and artwork done by fans, and is where most Onevisions, Tag Threads and LMB art can be found.

There are many posters on Legion World, and many of them do not venture into these two forums as much, focusing specifically on the comic book related forums. However, this does not make them any less of an LMBer, as their contribution to the fun of Legion World is greatly and widely appreciated.

The Founders
From the onset, the role of the founders has been understood, although no discussion has ever been held on it. Where issues concerning the collective LMB are settled by the collective LMB, larger issues concerning Legion World as a website, whether a technical issue or something more serious, are the domain of Nightcrawler, the owner of the website, and his fellow founders Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Kid Prime and Cru (Princess Crujectra). Although they do not have to, the founders have always encouraged other points of view to be expressed in these matters anyway.

Despite this large responsibility, these members are of course beloved members of the LMB.

Welcome Threads
From the onset, another Legion World tradition was begun on the Mission Monitor Board, the tradition of a welcome thread. Begun initially by Eryk Davis Ester, these threads were personnel welcomes to new members and encouraged them to participate. Other members have taken a cue from Eryk Davis Ester in subsequent months and have continued this tradition since, giving a refreshing reminder that all posters are welcome on Legion World.

Part V: The Early Days of Legion World (In Continuity)

The Problems Facing Legion World:
There was still much to do in establishing Legion World. The infrastructure needed to be worked out, the city needed to be completed and an active bureaucracy needed to be created to solve a large variety of problems. How would the population be fed? How would the economy run? How much of Legion World should be dedicated strictly to farming and feeding the population, and how much should be industrialized for the economy. Many LMBers were still scattered throughout the galaxy, and needed to be found and told of this new safe-haven, so they could rejoin their comrades.

These were some of the problems facing Legion World early on. The Legion World founders, with the LMB assisting them, worked hard to come up with solutions to these problems. It was decided that a vast majority of the country-side would be dedicated to farming, to ensure that the population of Legion World was well-fed. Farming then became an important and heralded occupation, as farmers were central to maintaining Legion World. The LMB itself helped the founders create a bureaucratic and industrial infrastructure, using ages old philosophies, as well as newer ones, to begin this process. To facilitate the process of getting this started, Princess Crujectra donated an enormous amount of the Psyonion Royal fortune to give Legion World a stable supply of revenue.

Most importantly, the universe was unsafe. Alien hordes still spread their armies, hoping to conquer large portions of the universe. The Naturals, the army from the anti-matter universe, targeted the LMB and had followed them into the positive matter universe to gain their revenge.

Earth’s corporations still wanted the LMB for their own devious ends. And millions were still being displaced and persecuted brutally for evil reasons—millions that the LMB had sworn an oath to protect. Legion World was a target, and it would not be long before it was attacked. The LMB was in a rough state to protect it, and too much needed to be done on Legion World to fend off so many problems. It became apparent immediately, that the LMB itself would not be enough to defend Legion World from so many numerous threats. They were spread too thin, and too many were lost or feared dead. Even more, there was too much to do on Legion World in the early days, to worry about these potential threats.

These were the problems facing Legion World during its early days. A shining new colony, its growth was vast and extremely quick, although it was a complicated process that involved a great deal of extraneous thinking and sacrifice.

Further, word had spread throughout the universe, almost immediately, that there was a safe haven open to all refugees that could house and protect them, and provide food and healthcare for any who needed it. Immediately, large caravans of refugees began coming to Legion World by the droves, hoping to become a part of this growing community. This created more problems than it solved. There was plenty of work to be done, and plenty of jobs to be filled. The majority of the planet-side was for farming, and farmers were needed by the thousands. To the shock of everyone, thousands of farmers soon arrived. Positions for technicians, clerical workers, laborers and a variety of infrastructure jobs were open—and these two were filled. Although it was a logistical nightmare, the incoming refugees were helping get Legion World on its feet quicker than it was previously thought possible. This unnamed class of people, often left out when discussion of Legion World and the LMB took place, was dubbed the ages old title ‘the lurking class’.

These problems would continue to haunt Legion World throughout the early period of its existence, and would lead to many ingenious solutions along the way.

The Construction of the Great City:
With these initiatives taking place and equally important task fell to building the great city that would be the capital of Legion World. Almost immediately, it became common place for anyone with anything resembling money to start this process, as it was encouraged to further the new economy. Thus, new housing developments centered on specific LMBers were quickly put into place, such as the infamous “Kid Prime’s Room”, “Matlock’s Attic”, “Outdoor Miner’s Offhand Manor”, etc. While many of these would be later set aside as large projects so those controlling them could have more time for other things, many of them remain central parts of the center of the city. For instance, “Kid Prime’s Room” and The Psyonion Embassy are located directly in the center of Legion World Way, one of the two most famous streets in Legion World.

All in all, Legion World quickly proved to be the perfect fit for the LMB. LMBers old and new felt the common bond that some had known before—of being part of something much bigger than themselves. A family united in a new place that was above all else home, the LMB looked forward once more to a bold, shining new era.

Part VI: The Election of Princess Crujectra and Eryk Davis Ester

Real History

With Legion World exploding with activity and revitalizing the online Legion Community, the LMB quickly settled into place as some sense of structure began to take place. For some time, the LMB had largely been leaderless and the idea of falling back on old traditions began to set in.

Further, Kid Prime, a Legion World Founder, major LMBer and very prominent poster put forth the idea that there should be a Legion World Leader elected in the tradition of the old Legion elections. The LMB, who had been doing this, decided to return to this tradition also, and use these elections on Legion World as the elections for LMB leader. Thus, the leader did not have to be ‘Legion World Leader’ (which might make it awkward for Nightcrawler and Lightning Lad), but was LMB leader.

Further, Kid Prime’s enthusiasm for the elections was highlighted by making the leadership elections an enormous amount of fun again and more of a game than ever before. Different rounds of nominations, campaigning and the like ensued, and the election was bigger than any other in the past.

Nominees were put in place and the final nominees were*:

Eryk Davis Ester
Danny Blane
He Who Wanders
Princess Crujectra
Portfolio Boy
Poverty Lad
Semi Transparent Fellow
Sonnie Boy
Suddenly Seymour
Varalent

The Election took place, a smashing success, with Kid Prime running things behind the scenes. 50 people voted, the biggest turnout ever in a LMB election. The leaders were announced as Princess Crujectra as Leader and Eryk Davis Ester as Deputy Leader. Cru (Crujectra/Crusader), the longest standing member of the LMB to have an uninterrupted membership (along with Lash) was a natural leader, as a more often than not ‘spiritual leader for the LMB’. Eryk Davis Ester also seemed to fit naturally as deputy given the flow of recent events, as he had rose to major prominence in light of the transition to boards as leader of the community.

*please note, the introduction of Semi Transparent Fellow, Danny Blaine and the return of Varalent will be covered in the next section

In Continuity

With the construction of Legion World well underway and some semblance of structure and order falling back into the lives of the LMB, it was decided, on the recommendation of Kid Prime, to once more resume the LMB Leadership Elections. Heartened by the recent positive turn of events, the elections were fresh and fun. Princess Crujectra was elected as leader of the LMB, with Eryk Davis Ester as Deputy Leader.

With a new home, a solid roster and a leadership once more, it felt like things had finally gotten back to normal (as normal as they could when it concerned the LMB).

Part VII: The LMB at the End of the Early Days of Legion World

Here is the LMB roster at the close of the early days of the Legion World. Please note, that this is not an exact date, as it is hard to gage what the “Early Days of Legion World” truly are (re: ten years from now, right now might be considered part of the “Early Days”):

What is an active member of the LMB?
On Legion World, it is often hard to judge who is an active member of the LMB. Some posters have registered but do not post until a few months later, and it won’t be until that period of posting that they would be considered an active member.

Likewise, the majority of LMB continuity related activity goes on in the Mission Monitor Board and Bits O’ Legionnaire Business Forums, although that is not the full essence of what the LMB is. Thus, it will be harder to judge who is an active LMBer concerning posters who do not post much, and only do so in the other forums, like the Legion Forum, Dr. Gym’ll’s, or Anywhere Machine Forums.

In the future sections of this narrative, I will try to do my best to keep those on these chapter ending rosters who were truly ‘active LMBers’ at that time. Since this will be more of a judgment call by this author, any insight or opinions on this are always appreciated.

Year Five: Princess Crujectra’s Term
Part I: Anything but Routine

With Princess Crujectra and Eryk Davis Ester officially elected at leaders of the LMB, old traditions were brought back in a new way to the LMB and Legion World. However, life on Legion World has never been close to routine. In these days especially, there was a continued craziness on Legion World and an onslaught of topics, events and creativity to always keep the place moving.

Throughout this term, there was a continued explosion of activity as the site was still very new and people couldn’t wait to start posting. This is arguably the most active time ever in the history of the LMB for ideas, topics, stories, etc., and it is very hard to keep track of everything.

The LMB had officially planted itself on Legion World, and pretty much most of the active posters on LW were admitted to the LMB by osmosis, although there was never any firm moment or ceremony for this. As the lines continued to blur, new and old posters immersed themselves in the daily craziness of Legion World and new friendships were constantly struck up. Many posters who had grown tired of internet posting in general suddenly found themselves rejuvenated by the fresh feel of Legion World.

The migrations to Legion World continued throughout the end of the summer months of 2003 and the fall of 2003, as more posters arrived on Legion World and a surprising amount leaped right into the fray. Many new posters quickly became prominent, and many old posters, such as Varalent were able to find their way over. Also, many longtime lurkers, such as Super Lad Kid and Semi-Transparent Fellow ‘de-lurked’ and began posting more often, becoming a big part of the community. Even more, longtime LMBers that had been missing in action for years returned to the fold, some becoming active, some just making sure they were registered. Kid Psychout was one of these, and one of the most surprising of all was Shark Lad, who returned after a lengthy absence from way back during the second year.

To say there was a lot going on is an understatement. There was always (and still is) something going on at Legion World with the LMB and the excitement remained very high. Things were anything but routine.

Year Five: Princess Crujectra’s Term
Part II: Life on Legion World

As the months have now turned well beyond a year, certain trends have become noticeable in terms of life on Legion World. Activity on forums has increased and decreased, events have happened and natural thread ideas and topics have peaked at certain points and become more prominent at others. For the duration of this narrative, I will dedicate a section to each leader’s term titled “Life on Legion World” to discuss some of these trends. This will include things from each forum, although the Mission Monitor Board will receive a higher degree of speculation.

I highly encourage people’s thoughts and opinions on this and any additional insight they can bring. As I’ve said numerous times, my memory isn’t always spot-on and I haven’t been active in all forums all the time.

The Mission Monitor Board
Flirting One trend that sticks out above all others during the early days of Princess Crujectra and Eryk Davis Ester’s term is the incredible amount of flirting going on in the MMB. This has always remained constant on LW, but at one point it was so noticeable that people were saying (in jest) that ‘gay flirting was taking over Legion World!’. It appeared that every thread was becoming consumed by an enormous amount of flirting, as LMBers were enjoying each other’s company so much that the flirting symbolized the fresh excitement on LW. Gay flirting was joined by strait flirting soon after and both have remained constant since—but it was a considerable trend at this point.

Alt IDs At the onset of Cru and EDE’s term Alt IDs became a major part of life on LW. Many old LMB alt IDs returned and a plethora of new ones emerged on the scene. Many of these Alt IDs remain a solid part of the LW community to this day, and Alt IDs have always had a strong presence on Legion World. At this particular time, however, the Alt IDs were literally exploding onto the scene and many LWers were left confused at who was who and what was going on by the sheer density of Alt ID craziness. This will be covered more in depth in future sections.

Conspiracy The other great trend of this era was the enormous amount of conspiracy threads that became prominent on the MMB. Rising out of the influx of alt IDs, they began when Tarik the Mute and his android began recruiting for his academy and Winema Wazzo accused Eryk Davis Ester and Princess Crujectra of being fascists. The later arrival of Space Ranger and his investigations into LW conspiracies furthered this. This will be covered in depth in the following section.

Legion Forum
It is also very noteworthy to refer to the Legion forum during this period (and the periods thereafter) and make mention of the onslaught of topics often started by Thriftshop Debutante, MLLASH and Eryk Davis Ester. Often joined by others (Fat Cramer, Nightcrawler, etc.), the Legion Forum has continually gone through periods of many topics begun by these three.

Legion Memories He Who Wanders, who had been giving excellent reviews of old Legion stories on Lightning Lad’s forum (and could be seen at the DCMBs also) began doing his Legion reviews on the Legion forum, to the delight of the posters there.

Calling the Roll
Mystery Lad had been doing his “Calling the Roll” threads on Legion stories for many years on the DCMBs, and continued to do so after the move to Legion World. Another literal fan favorite, these were given their own forum on Legion World during this time.

The Trophy Room
Secret Trophy Room Thread Although the Trophy Room had little activity compared to the other forums, it became the home of a thread towards the end of Cru and EDE’s term, “ The Secret Trophy Room Hideout ”, which was a fun hideout for some posters, since most posters did not venture to the Trophy Room.

Encyclopedia Galactica
It was during this period that the excellent collection of Legion indexes was assembled in the Encyclopedia Galactica forum by Nightcrawler, Lightning Lad, Kid Prime and Portfolio Boy.

Year Five: Princess Crujectra’s Term
Part III: Anecdotes and Adventures During Princess Crujectra's Term (Part I)

With the LMB firmly planted on Legion World, the ongoing construction of Legion World and the capital city continued with bold strides being made. The political and economic structure was also fleshed out, as other problems were dealt with. Most importantly, a continued large number of people migrated to Legion World, some even with super-powers of their own that wished to join the LMB.

- Danny Blaine journeys to Legion World, where he shows off his new powers to the LMB’s amazement. He is quickly inducted into their ranks.

- Blockade Boy, a hero that once fought alongside the LMB on Earth finally leaves Earth, preferring the company of his friends. He ventures to Legion World and is officially inducted into the ranks of the LMB.

- Many others migrate to Legion World upon hearing of the new home of the LMB. Kid Psychout, a longtime LMBer that had not been with the team in awhile, is one of many that venture to Legion World but elect to not remain on the active roster, much like LardLad, Loser Lad and others who are busy with day to day activities. Mondo Joe X and others do the same, and even Shark Lad is rumored to have entered Legion World.

- The Psyonion Embassy is constructed on “Embassy Row” which inspires the idea to set up a long line of buildings to act as Embassies. Thus, the great city of Legion World begins immediately to become a center for diplomatic peace, much like the Earth was of old. Diplomatic relationships with Earthgov, which ceded from the UP, remain non-existent.

- The street intersecting with Embassy Row, Legion World Way, becomes the other main center of commerce and employment, as does “Legion World Main Street” (which run parallel) becomes more viable. “Kid Prime’s Room” is one of the many buildings that adorn Legion World Way.

Lurkers Reveal Yourselves! The lurking class begins to fill out the majority of Legion World’s population, as many lurkers venture to the planet and interact with the LMB on a limited basis. However, the new energy in the LMB, now that they had a new home, began to push many of these lurkers to come out and join them. Thus, Super Lad Kid, who was once an LMBer long ago, but then died and was only brought back by a glitch in the time stream during a great rift, officially de-lurks and announces his presence to the LMB. Further, another lurker, Semi-Transparent Fellow, officially de-lurks for the first time as well. Both Super Lad Kid and Semi-Transparent Fellow show off their powers and impress the LMB greatly, and become fast members of the LMB, as well as prominent members of the Legion World community.

- Varalent, a previous LMBer who was ‘lost’ during the escape from Earth, finally makes his way to Legion World after a perilous journey. His former allies and friends Kid Prime and Eryk Davis Ester quickly welcome him back into their ranks.

- Lightning Lad and Nightcrawler decide to cut off all diplomatic relations with Earthgov, which receives a hearty round of support from the rest of the LMB.

- The party atmosphere surrounding Legion World quickly takes on a life of its own and everyday flirting and fun become a prominent stay of the LMB lifestyle on Legion World, both day and night. This in turn plants the seeds for many ideas on how to build upon an entertainment industry on Legion World to benefit its citizens.

- While on a mission exploring the edges of Legion World space, Lash Lad spots an attractive young man named Icefyre, who also has a super-power. Icefyre impresses Lash with his control of ice and fire, but moreso for his super-flirting abilities, which suggest that he may be the biggest flirt of all! Lash Lad quickly invites him to Legion World, and Icefyre joins the LMB!

The First Legion World Army Despite the excitement happening planet-side, the dangers of the universe remain a very potent and real fact. The Barbarian Hordes continue to carve out large areas of the universe for themselves, most deadly of all, the Naturals, the anti-matter army with a thirst for revenge on the LMB, continue to hunt for Legion World. In addition, the constant migrations to Legion World create a new problem, as over-population becomes a real issue, something that was previously un-thought. Using the abundance of people to first fill out the need for farmers and everyday workers to give Legion World a solid infrastructure, Nightcrawler and the founders are able to create a solid self-sufficient economy on Legion World. However, the population problem continues, especially the influx of young males. It is Princess Crujectra who suggests that these young males could be good to good work by forming a Legion World Army, since the majority of the LMB were too busy creating Legion World to deal with their enemies. Eryk Davis Ester, the deputy leader is chosen to lead the army, and Faraway Lad, longtime LMBer and former army officer himself, is chosen to be his second in command, to help train the army. Princess Crujectra once more uses her funds to fund the equipping of the army. Note- the more in depth story to this is covered in “ This Historical Origins of the Legion World Triumvirate ”.

Everybody Comes to SHAKES Quickly becoming a prominent member of the community, Semi-Transparent Fellow opens up the most famous establishment in Legion World history, SHAKES . Known as the best bar in the cosmos, he was inspired by his friends Vararlent and Lash Lad to proceed in doing so, and used his knowledge of bar etiquette to bring a touch of class to SHAKES that has never been matched. Most famously adorned with the triple marine varnished authentic antique swinging saloon doors, SHAKES quickly became a very popular spot. Over the first few weeks of its existence, it would gather a small group of regulars that would become famous mainstays at SHAKES, often tightly muscled super-heroes. SHAKES most famous patron, Outdoor Miner would soon make famous the “three-fer special”, and amaze other SHAKES patrons with his ability to consume mass amounts of alcohol and maintain his famous wit. Varalent a close friend of Semi’s and later lover, would become co-owner of the establishment soon after.

SHAKES I
SHAKES II
SHAKES III
SHAKES IV

The Starfield Lounge Danny Blaine, also looking to keep the party atmosphere vibrant on Legion World, opens his Starfield Lounge adjacent to SHAKES (which can be entered by a special door), and quickly welcomes all to the “Official Party Place on Legion World” note – the Starfield Lounge would later be known as ‘The Beacon’, although the first 30-40 pages were known as Danny Blaine\'s \'Starfield Lounge\' .

- Some prominent posters from the Early Days of Legion World exit for a time and become focused on their day to day lives outside of the public sphere, such as Caleb, Rokk Steady and Lone Wolf Londo.

- Lash Lad establishes the The Top 5 Posters Club , an elite club on Legion World for the five most active citizens in public life. This club became and remains a part of Legion World life, and the five LMBers who hold those positions often garner respect from others (and vice versa, many do not offer any respect for this largely symbolic position).

- New Kid, a young man named Abin Quank, journeys to Legion World after overhearing a lecture given by Leap Year Lass. He quickly becomes a part of the community and joins the LMB with his powers of super-annoyance. (Note- this is the posters known today as Abin Quank, and how his powers, name and alt IDs evolved will be chronicled when those times arrive on the timeline).

- Sonnie Bloke, an active and prominent LMBer, invites his good friend Harbinger to come to Legion World and join the LMB. She does so, and impresses the LMB so much that they admit her immediately. The effectiveness of Harbinger and the big welcome she receives gives Sonnie the idea to invite his brother Numf-El the next time he contacts him.

Varalent\'s Varaible Villa Varalent, now officially back in the LMB, quickly becomes a prominent member of the community. He begins construction of his Variable Villa, one of the most prized pieces of land on Legion World, which expands to Varalent’s wishes, and encompasses some of the finest views of the city (as well as numerous beautiful architecture that cause many to try and stay at this establishment). In later months, as the Villa’s (and Varalent’s public persona in government forums) prestige would grow, Varalent and his Villa would often be linked to that of an old Roman Senator.

-Portfolio Boy begins tabulating “the Top 40 Posters” to keep track of the activity of Legion World’s most active public servants, which were all LMBers.

Part IV: Mega Explosion of Alt IDs

Real History

A few months into the start of Legion World, the old alt IDs of LMBers and members of the DC Board community began to register, as people began to fall comfortably back in old roles without experiencing the hindrance of having no control over the board. Soon, a large amount of alt IDs registered on Legion World, many older ones revisited (i.e. Umber, Mekt Ranzz, etc.).

Soon after, even more alt IDs began registering. This number continued to increase, until it became apparent that there was a virtual explosion of alt IDs. This became so rampant, and such a major influx, that Nightcrawler had to actively ban the use of further alt IDs without special permission, out of fear that this could do damage to the board itself.

The presence of alt IDs was felt enormously on the Mission Monitor Board in particular. Soon, Alt IDs, with fully developed personalities of their own became a mainstay on the MMB and became embroiled in LMB continuity, interacting with various LMBers and each other. Further, many of these alt IDs, in fact the majority, were not ‘new’ members of the community looking to join the LMB, but were in fact antagonists to the community itself, looking to cause trouble and create friction (although this was transparently blatant and totally in jest, obvious to everyone—in other words, this was not an issue). The Alt IDs became so many, that it was hard for some posters to keep track of what was going on.

Although this would die down considerably, Alt IDs have maintained a strong presence on LW and as part of the LMB universe since this period and in the MMB section of LW in particular. It cannot be stressed, however, how potent this was at the time.

In Continuity:

This will be covered in the next section, where a full list of alt IDs that participated during this period will be given.

Part V: Anecdotes and Adventures during Princess Crujectra’s Term (Part II)

“Conspiracies on Legion World!”

- Eryk Davis Ester brings his cat, Jinx, to Legion World, where she is openly welcomed to the community by various LMBers, like Arachne, Varalent and Fat Cramer, who acts as a mentor to all incoming feline immigrants.

- The Alt IDs, long missing from the LMB, make their journey to Legion World. Umber & the Boyz, Homecoming Queen, Raging Bull, Mekt Ranzz, Mighty Quinn M., Rody the Super Rat, Bucky the Super Beaver, the (3) Triads and other old LMB alts join the community on Legion World. While many elect to spend time regaining some semblance of a personnel life, Umber and Homecoming Queen become active members of the team again.

- Kid Prime, who is joined by Looks that Kill Lad, gives a lecture on the history of transformers and automated mechanics. This proves so popular, that Kid Prime incorporates this as a major part of “Kid Prime’s Room”.

- Many mysterious travelers begin coming to Legion World, which raises the question if there should be some sort of screening process to allow this, or even an office to make sure Legion World is secure.

- Tarik the Mute ventures to Legion World, accompanied by his Android. At first, their presence raises some eyebrows, but nothing comes of it.

- Semi-Transparent Fellow and Varalent begin a relationship on Legion World. Icefyre and Italian Boy also appear to have one, although it appears to be much more open to go along with the legendary flirting ways of both.

- A woman named Evil Queen enters Legion World, and appears to have ill intentions. Other beings, such as a being named Computo also enter.

- The Emerald Empress journeys to Legion World, causing alarms to be raised once again by the LMB, who have heard of her evil reputation for quite a bit. However, she appears to have gone strait, although suspicions are still raised against her.

- Eryk Davis Ester and his army begin fighting back across the universe, conquering Barbarian hordes and liberating lands. At the same time, Cobalt Kid, unknown to the LMB, escapes his imprisonment and murders Dark Conan and the Pious One. Over the next few weeks, he assembles his rag-tag army, which also wanders through the universe conquering barbarian peoples and growing in size. Note- for the full story on both of these, see the Onevisions “ The Tale of Dr. Albert Hoffman ” and “ The Historical Origins of the Legion World Triumvirate

- Tarik the Mute’s Android becomes more active in public. He announces that his master has opened up a school on Legion World and invites LMBers and LWers to attend the fall semester.

- Icefyre and Semi-Transparent Fellow learn secretly that they are brothers. Semi also discovers that he has an as of yet unrevealed second super-power.

- Mystery Lad sets up his laboratory on Legion World, which most famously has solved mysteries throughout the cosmos. It is once more dubbed "Calling the Roll", which Lightning Lad sponsors the creation of.

- The presence of Tarik, his android, Computo, Evil Queen and Emerald Empress continue to unnerve the community of the Capital City, and some begin to wonder if a conspiracy is afoot. New Kid, sensing that they may need help, writes to his brother Space Ranger to join him on Legion World as a liaison with the Science Police.

- Tarik the Mute and his Android open up their school and to everyone’s surprise have a major number of students enroll. Most shocking of all is some LMBers suddenly enroll in the school as well: Icefyre, who takes the moniker Frostfyre, Fat Cramer, who suddenly becomes Dark Cramer, Super Lad Kid, who becomes Ultra Lad Kid and Blockade Boy. Immediately a city-wide panic ensues and the LMB are left wondering what to do.

- Using the connection between magic and having a 'name', Iron Rat, who is more commonly acknowledged as Stu on Legion World (his traditional moniker among friends), also takes on the alias' PQR and VWX.

- The Emerald Empress offers her help, but is largely rejected because of suspicions. Princess Crujectra speaks to her in private and the two come to an understanding—where the Princess believes the Empress is genuine.

- Ultra Matt and Princess Crujectra’s long-standing admiration for one another is publicly acknowledged as Princess Crujectra adds the title “with Ultra Powers” to the end of her name for a period of time, in honor of her attractive consort.

- Lash Lad strangely undergoes a transformation, and is turned into an android. Android Lash then goes on to his normal business, only to become completely consumed with stalking and then killing Matt Damon.

- Danny Blaine mysteriously disappears from Legion World, only to have his placed swapped with Mantis (who unknowingly is transported from Earth-3). Mantis and Danny Blaine soon learn that they cannot be in the same world at once, and constantly switch back and forth. Further, Mantis becomes aware of a great evil approaching Legion World and begins giving warnings about it. This only increases the feelings of conspiracy and suspicion around Legion World.

The Legion World Triumvirate Throughout all of this, the danger of the Naturals grows ever closer, and a further panic begins to set in on the LMB. Eryk Davis Ester and Faraway Lad, who had beaten a large number of Barbarian Hordes, are called back to Legion World to prepare for the battle with the Naturals, which seems to be destined to failure. At the same time, the army of Cobalt Kid, who is not in the right state of mind after terrible torture and having to commit murder, stumbles across the old LMB Outpost, where Crusader and Maxx find him. They help him regain his senses and send him on his way to Legion World, as he learns his friends still live. The Naturals finally enter Legion World space and attack as Eryk Davis Ester’s army defends it. When things look bleak, they are suddenly joined by a second army, the army of Cobalt Kid, who are only loyal to the famous LMB hero (and not any one planet). Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester meet for the first time, and in a show of allegiance, exchange second in commands (from this point on called ‘Primus Pilus’ aka ‘First Spear’), as Eryk Davis Ester receives Martyrious and Cobalt Kid receives his old friend Faraway Lad. After a brutal stand at the battle of Thermopolyae, a third army of Starhavenites, led by Grey Birdboy who sought them out and rallied them together, helps give the LMBers the edge, as the finally finish off and decimate the Naturals leaving no man standing. The Naturals are finally defeated, and Cobalt Kid is reunited with his old friends. After Martyrious’ selfless suicide in a show of allegiance to Eryk Davis Ester (in the style of Cobalt Kid’s army), the three armies now pay homage exclusively to the three generals, who then become the Legion World Triumvirate. As the armies march on to conquer the rest of the Barbarian Tribes, the three Triumvirs and Faraway Lad return to Legion World to unite Cobalt Kid with his old allies.

- The Triumvirs return and Cobalt Kid is reunited with his long-lost LMB family. However, he is quickly told by Android Lash and Princess Crujectra that his long lost love and wife, Space Tart, has died. He goes into a quick depression and disappears.

- Eryk Davis Ester becomes aware of the Tarik the Mute’s academy and worries that he is attempting to subvert a large portion of Legion World and the LMB. With Dark Cramer, Icefyre, Ultra Lad Kid and Blockade Boy as examples of this, he orders (as Deputy Leader) that Tarik the Mute’s academy be investigated.

- Winema Wazzo arrives on Legion World, and suddenly announces her candidacy as Legion World/LMB leader, which is not for many months away. She wastes no time in declaring that Eryk Davis Ester and Princess Crujectra are fascists, and calls EDE’s trouble with Tarik a ‘witch hunt’ and the business of Crujectra taking Ultra Matt’s name as blatant bigamy. She starts a campaign against them.

- Some LWers and LMBers become alarmed by this, and many unfamiliar with the leaders almost give these charges some thought. Princess Crujectra and Eryk Davis Ester immediately fight back.

- Out of fear that Computo, Tarik the Mute’s Android and Android Lash may lead to more robot trouble on Legion World, Sanity or Madness? has Circuit Breaker, a unit bent on destroying robots, sent to Legion World as a back-up plan.

- New Kid’s summons to his brother finally pay off and Space Ranger enters Legion World, with the intentions of clearing up the various conspiracies there. At first, he is greeted by many who are relieved. However, his rough around the edges attitude and black and white outlook turn some LMBers off, who fear his style of policing my not jive with Civil Liberties. Most outspoken of all against him are Semi-Transparent Fellow, Varalent and Arachne. Space Ranger, ever determined to do his duty, ignores this completely at first.

- Android Lash is able to revert to his normal self, although in doing so, the cure consisted of several gender-reversal germs. Unexpectedly, he is changed back into a human, but into a female. Thus, Lash Lass retakes her place among the LMB.

- Giant Robotic Lesbian first appears on Legion World, and makes it apparent that she has no patience for men. Many fear her strength.

-Following GRL, Anti-Lad appears on the scene, seeming to have an outright hate for all males.

-Princess Crujectra visits Cobalt Kid’s chambers to snap him out of the funk he is in. She realizes that what he really needs is something to do, something to take his mind off of Space Tart and his still recent torture. Realizing that his greatest skills have always been super-heroing, she discusses with him the need for increased security on Legion World, in light of the recent influx of strange characters.

- Dark Cramer, disappointed with the poetry at Tarik the Mute’s academy, quickly drops out and resumes her moniker as Fat Cramer. Blockade Boy soon follows suit. Many LMBers are relieved and the two rejoin their ranks.

-Space Ranger has a run-in with the Emerald Empress, who is insistent to create a harem on Legion World . His suspicions of her create a tension between the two. The Empress focuses on starting a harem with Lash as her harem master, overseeing Icefyre, Danny Blaine, Italian Boy, Varalent, Kid Prime, Icefyre, Nightcrawler, Eryk Davis Ester and others. Not so strangely, many of them do not mind all being together in a harem.

- Mantis’ cryptic warnings continue to worry many. Semi and Vee, seeing her so stressed, offer her a change to work as a bar maid at SHAKES, a job she once had before.

- Kara journeys to Legion World after experiencing her own intense loss. She quietly joins the others at first.

- At this point, the Royal Inquisitor entered Legion World, although he remained in the shadows for some time.

- Space Ranger announces to Legion World that he has direct evidence that Winema Wazzo is a fake, and is in fact, not the real Winema. She denies this vehemently, although she slowly begins decreasing her activity in the public eye.

- Poverty Lad, after receiving a hefty some of money from a few choice investments, takes on the new moniker of “Low-Middle Income Lad” for a brief period.

- Lash Lass spends an evening flirting with her old friend Sketch Lad, although these strange new attractions leave both LMBers confused. While Sketch Lad returns to his family, Lash Lass deals with her new female hormones.

- While on Legion World, Stu takes on the form of a puppy, instead of his traditional human form. The reasoning behind this is that when transformed, mages are able to channel magical energy far easier. Also, it is believed the lovable reaction of many to puppies may have had some effect on this decision.

- Space Ranger gives Jinx a universal translator, which allows Jinx to speak 'human' from time to time.

- Probes sent out by Nightcrawler into the surrounding universes are fond on Taltar. Taltar elects their honored Ambassador Thora to venture to Legion World.

Year Five: Princess Crujectra’s Term
Part VI: Anecdotes and Adventures during Princess Crujectra’s Term (Part III)

“Boiling Points and Thora of Taltar!”

One Crazy Night at SHAKES
With a plethora of activity occurring across Legion World, and various conspiracies reaching their boiling points, the tension continues to mount on Legion World to the point where it appears as if it will explode. The first semblance of that explosion occurs on one Friday night, mainly occurring at SHAKES. Here is a brief synopsis of what occurred note- these events occurred one crazy Friday night on Legion World here on page 22 of SHAKES I although these events crossed into other threads, which progressed the various stories going on there quite a bit :
  • Frostfyre, confused by his recent time at Tarik the Mute’s Academy, travels through the city streets of Legion World. Suddenly and without reason, he is attacked by Evil Queen, whose violence almost kills him!
  • Frostfyre, whose senses have now been slightly knocked back to what they should have, immediately searches out his brother, Semi-Transparent Fellow at SHAKES.
  • At this exact time, Space Ranger enters SHAKES for the first time to questions Mantis on her warnings. As of this point, he and Semi-Transparent Fellow are not on friendly terms. He begins questioning her, and she refuses to answer, not trusting him completely. He becomes frustrated.
  • Also at this exact moment, Princess Crujectra discusses with Cobalt Kid the idea that he might be in charge of some of the Security on Legion World, in an attempt to give him something to do that he is good at to break him out of his depression. He appears to like the idea, and takes it under consideration, venturing out into the streets of Legion World for the first time.
  • Frostfyre barges into SHAKES looking for Semi, only to find Space Ranger and Mantis. Space Ranger immediately begins questioning him, threatening to arrest him for being a student of Tarik’s and for fighting on Legion World. Mantis disappears to find Semi.
  • Semi enters SHAKES in a frenzy, threatening Space Ranger to leave the premises. Space Ranger, worried of a conspiracy between Tarik, Winema Wazzo, Evil Queen and others, refuses.
  • Superboymjjr watches from his ship and wonders if he should enter.
  • Cobalt Kid, on patrol on Legion World for the first time, enters SHAKES and steps right into the middle of the confusion between Semi, Frostfyre and Space Ranger. Attempting to figure things out, they are able to make things a little calmer.
  • The Emerald Empress enters SHAKES and sees Space Ranger harassing Semi and Frostfyre. Feeling protective of Semi, one of the few LMBers to believe in her, she immediately attacks Space Ranger. Space Ranger responds by attacking back, and he accidentally destroys the authentic triple marine varnished saloon doors of SHAKES.
  • Cobalt Kid and Semi are able to break the fight up, but not before hard-feelings are left lingering between the combatants, and the feelings of conspiracy have only increased. Space Ranger leaves, with unfinished business between he and Semi, and Cobalt Kid meets the various LWers for the first time. He and Kara enjoy a drink.
  • Outdoor Miner enters SHAKES for the first time and helps Semi sort out the mess. This marks the beginning of his long association with the bar.
  • Frostfyre’s memories are returned throughout this trauma and he suddenly regains his composure with the help of Semi-Transparent Fellow and Outdoor Miner. He becomes Icefyre once more with the help of his brother and drops out of Tarik’s academy to rejoin the LMB!

- New Kid, feeling as if he is no longer new on Legion World, takes on the new moniker “Almost New Kid”. He is subsequently referred to as ANK by Varalent, which is picked up by other LMBers.

- Lash Lass meets back up with an energized Cobalt Kid, whose depression seems to have faded after the recent high energy events. The two actually flirt a little, although the physical attraction between the two seems to confuse them and seem unnatural, since Cobalt has often taken the role of “Lash’s little brother” in the past.

- Following the events of the night at SHAKES, tension continues to mount between Space Ranger and certain members of the LMB and Legion World. Semi-Transparent Fellow, Varalent, Icefyre, Mantis, Kara and Arachne are just some who are unsure of Space Ranger’s intentions.

- Lash Lass goes on a major shopping spree with Umber and Homecoming Queen.

- Tarik the Mute’s Android remains a public figure, despite the large drop off in academy students. Mantis, who had previous affections for androids before, attempts to seek him out.

- Princess Crujectra has a secret meeting with Cobalt Kid and discusses the need for an Office of Security on Legion World. She officially makes him “Chief of Security” and makes it a position for life, so that he would not have to worry about the constraints of politics. Nightcrawler gives his approval of this nomination (thus, cementing its place among Legion World bureaucracy) and donates a building for Cobalt Kid to work out of.

- Lash Lass, sick of dealing with female hormones undergoes a special procedure to be returned to his normal state. Unfortunately, the side-effects change him back to a man, but increase his age to over 80 years old. He takes on the new moniker, Peepshaw Lash.

- Thora of Taltar arrives on Legion World. Immediately, she is disgusted by what she sees as a patriarchal society, because the men are not enslaved. She call the Legion World women to join her in enslaving all males . Harbinger, Arachne, Fat Cramer and Princess Crujectra immediately decline. While Leap Year Lass does consider it, Giant Robotic Lesbian and Anti-Lad seem very interested.

- Peepshaw Lash is finally able to revert himself back to his old self, and becomes Lash Lad once more.

Invasion from Taltar!
With tensions mounting across Legion World, Thora’s invasion of Legion World finally began, as she struck at a time when Legion World was still not at full strength – many LMBers were busy constructing the city and getting their lives together, and an air of distrust had surfaced due to the conspiracy theories! Thora’s attack led to the following events (note- Once more, one crazy night on Legion World caused the following things to happen in succession. This time, the effects were long-lasting on LMB continuity and many personnel story-lines for LMBers!):
  • Thora launches her initial attacks on the streets of Legion World. Anti-Lad and Giant Robotic Lesbian immediately join her.
  • Lower Middle Income Lad (aka Poverty Lad) utters his famous quote : “Oh No! The Girls are Revolting!”
  • Kid Prime and Lash Lad, fearing what may happen to their genitalia, hide out in Kid Prime’s room.
  • Cobalt Kid emerges from the chaos as Chief of Security and announces the opening of the Office of Security (original office) . He immediately begins fighting back against Thora.
  • Space Ranger, at that exact moment, begins his counter-attack, defending the freedom of the citizens of Legion World.
  • Seeing the exact similarities between their missions, Cobalt Kid and Space Ranger fight side by side against the forces of Thora.
  • Ultra Lad Kid, while walking through the streets of Legion World, is suddenly attacked by Giant Robotic Lesbian and Anti-Lad. Calling to Tarik the Mute and his fellow academy students to help, he receives none.
  • A united front makes its stand against Thora: Semi-Transparent Fellow, Mantis, Kara, Varalent, Arachne, Icefyre, Emerald Empress and Outdoor Miner fight back.
  • Cobalt Kid sees Ultra Lad Kid being attacked and is able to defend him against Giant Robotic Lesbian and Anti-Lad. He tells him that he will save him, and then pardon him if he swears off his allegiance to Tarik the Mute’s academy and rejoins the side of good. Ultra Lad Kid agrees and becomes Super Lad Kid once more.
  • The forces of Thora begin getting pushed back by the united heroes, who are all now fighting side by side. Cobalt Kid confronts Thora herself and offers to make peace with her inside his new Office of Security.
  • Cobalt Kid brings Thora into his office and the two discuss peace settlements. Eventually, a different understanding takes place and Cobalt Kid locks his door so that he and Thora can take out their aggression in another way. Afterwards, a satisfied Thora calls off the attacks.
  • Cobalt Kid announces the creation of the Office of Security. He offers Space Ranger a job as Deputy Chief of Security, since his mission is so similar to Cobalt’s and they fought so well together. Space Ranger excepts and joins, as well as becomes a member of the LMB. Cobalt then offers a place in the Office of Security to Super Lad Kid, which is a part of the terms of the pardon, so he can repay his debt to society. Super Lad Kid accepts and the three begin the new Office of Security.
  • During this night, Kid Prime announces that he is taking a brief absence from the LMB and Legion World, for personnel reasons. He promises he will return.
  • The various heroes venture to SHAKES to end the night on a drink together. At this point, Semi-Transparent Fellow takes Space Ranger to the side to discuss their differences. The two, mutually impressed by each other’s passion for justice and freedom, decide to put aside their differences and work together—and more, become friends. Space Ranger is officially welcomed by the Legion World community.
  • Impressed with their willingness to help, the LMBers present induct Emerald Empress, Mantis and Kara into the LMB. Semi and Vee vouch for the Emerald Empress, and Cobalt and Space Ranger take them at their word and give the Empress a chance. After even further consideration, they make the Emerald Empress the fourth member of the Office of Security.
  • The heroes spend a night of drinking in each other’s company after these events, and toast to Kid Prime.

- Around this time, a few LMBers become less active, including Italian Boy and Superboymjjr.

The Return of Shark Lad Shark Lad returns to the LMB in a big way! After migrating to Legion World sometime earlier, Shark Lad waited for awhile to be sure that his old evil feelings would not resurface. Confident with himself, although always harboring fears of going evil again, the mighty LMBer returns to the fold and immerses himself among the new LMB community on Legion World.

- In light of the recent battle against Thora, Mantis and Space Ranger begin spending quality time together. Space Ranger’s known marriage to his twin Carrggite wives prevents him from making moves in the public eye, although they share some nights together behind the scenes.

- With Super Lad Kid rejoining the side of good, Tarik the Mute’s Academy loses its last major recruit among the LMB. From this point forward, Tarik the Mute and his Android begin to decrease their presence on Legion World.

- The Office of Security establishes a rigid entrance examination to Legion World to stop any further malcontents who wish to harm the LMB from entering. Although not anywhere close to violating civil rights, these check points help to keep Legion World secure from the likes of beings like the Royal Inquisitor and Evil Queen.

- Kara and Cobalt Kid date for a brief while during this period.

- Princess Crujectra continues to have many suitors, including the Boy with Ultra Powers, Nightcrawler, Cobalt Kid and the newly returned Shark Lad.

- Flirting in general continues to be a very strong force on Legion World. The Emerald Empress becomes very close to both Space Ranger and Cobalt Kid, her new undercover partners in the Office of Security.

- StuRat becomes a regular at SHAKES, and is often found huddled behind the bar at the end of the night. A photograph of the drunken puppy famously makes the rounds of the local media circuits.

- As Danny Blaine and Mantis continue to switch back and forth, Semi-Transparent Fellow and Varalent do their best to watch over the Starfield Lounge. Kara takes on a job as a bouncer there, as Icefyre spends many nights dancing, and Shark Lad spends quality time in the pool.

- Icefyre and Shark Lad begin dating on and off.

- Nightcrawler opens the “Trophy Room” on Legion World, which also has a ‘secret trophy room’ attached to it, known only to a select few. Inside this room, Nightcrawler reveals many of the deepest secrets of Legion World.

- Mantis continues to issue her warnings about an oncoming evil, explaining that Thora, Evil Queen and Tarik were not the evil she had foreseen, and that it will be much worse.

- Harbinger has a few amusing exchanges with Space Ranger and Almost New Kid, beginning what has become an ongoing tradition on Legion World.

The Return of Dev-Em Dev-Em returns to the LMB, as he ventures to Legion World. Quickly, he learns the LMB have disappeared, while he is greeted by what appears to be Space Tart. Soon after, they are joined by Computer, who has the personalities of Lash Lad, Lucien Lad and Dolly Parton. After a battle with Madrox the Multiple Durlan (who is first introduced here), and joined by the Amazing Cans (an all-female super team from Xanthu), they venture to Earth to find that the Retros are forcing the LMB boy band to reunite. The Entropy Spinach attacks, causing the Retros to bow out and Lucien Lad to go evil. Soon after, LardLad, Eryk Davis Ester, Shark Lad all are turned evil too. Space Tart is revealed to really be the LMB Spectre, returned once more, by a trick of the Time Mouse Trapper. A second Space Tart appears as Space Hawk Tart Avatar, but is soon revealed to be the Avatar Beast, appearing for the first time, as it can take the shape of various animal avatars. Various LMBers are used to turn the other evil LMBers good again, while Lucien Lad and Kyle Minogue team up. The main enemy is eventually revealed as LMBer Beagle Boy…and then, truly revealed to be, Piddlin’ Pup!! At the end, Dev-Em and the LMB Spectre return to the LMB and join them on Legion World. Beagle Boy is restored and Lucien Lad appears to be good again. Piddlin’ Pup is sent to major super-pet therapy. Note- this story was actually written a little later and is an actual tag thread. It takes place now, because it was retelling events that happened before hand. Thus, this is the second appearance of the Avatar Beast, but the first in chronology.

- Dev-Em rejoins the LMB on Legion World, and uses his first moniker, “Dev-Em”. It appears that he has regained his Daxamite powers, in addition to his Durlan powers.

- The LMB Spectre joins her comrades on Legion World, but takes on the status of ‘reserve member’. She opens up the Hall of Fallen Heroes , which acts as a monument to the LMBers who have died. Statues adorn this hall.

- The idea for this narrative comes about by a suggestion from Lash Lad. Cobalt Kid takes this idea to heart and begins his research for the “History of the LMB” at this time.

- Thora reemerges on Legion World and announces to the general public that she is pregnant with Cobalt Kid’s child. She informs them that she intends to raise the child as a man-hating femi-nazi if born a girl, and as a slave in the pits of Taltar if a boy. She then demands that Cobalt Kid marry her, or she promises to capture him and force him into a servitude of marriage if need be. Quickly, this becomes the new focus of Crisis on Legion World.

Year Five: Princess Crujectra’s Term
Part VII: Even More Anecdotes and Adventures During Princess Crujectra’s Term (Part IV)

- Thora’s declaration that she will be forcing Cobalt Kid into marriage sends the LMB into a frenzy . Prepartions begin getting made. Some prepare to attack, such as Arachne, Eryk Davis Ester, Varalent and others, while some, such as Fat Cramer, prepare to plan the wedding just in case the LMB lose.

- Now that Dev-Em was firmly planted among the LMB again, he sends for his old friend, Furball, to rejoin the LMB as well.

- Shark Lad joins the Office of Security, as he also begins looking for an occupation on Legion World.

- Another Alt ID, Nardo, comes to Legion World, where he hosts a radio show for a brief period of time. He has many listeners who are loyal and dedicated, and equally as many who loathe him.

-Furball arrives and immediately, he and Shark Lad resume their animosity for one another from three years ago. This time, a whole new set of LMBers (Semi, Varalent, Icefyre, Almost New Kid, Sonnie, Harbinger, etc.) try to break them up.

- Lash Lad publicly laments for introducing Cobalt Kid to Princess No-Protection all those many years before, which resulted in his distaste for protection. Once more, Cobalt’s libido has gotten them into trouble.

- Space Ranger appears missing for a few days. Almost New Kid, Emerald Empress and Mantis alert Cobalt Kid, his partner, to this. Immediately a search begins. The words “Males are Cretins” is found spray-painted on his quarters. It is surmised that Thora has kidnapped him.

- Cobalt Kid announces that he is ‘Calling All LMBers’ to fight against Thora. Volunteers immediately sign up.

The Assault on Thora
The history records remain slightly vague during this time, because the hallucinogenic inducements that would later haunt the Dark Stu Saga were released on the LMB at this time as a test for that later crisis. Therefore, the LMB did go through much of what they believed, but much of it was not happening in reality. The following is what this historian believes occurred: Note- this was an actual tag team thread called “The Assault on Thora”, and was the first new one to begin on Legion World. Some of the details, however, have been retroactively fixed, as some posters did not want their characters so involved in the story. Here is the retconned version of events:
  • The LMB arrive by space cruiser to Taltar, looking to diplomatically speak to Thora. Their objectives are: to free Space Ranger, to save Cobalt’s child so it won’t be raised to be a femi-nazi or slave, and to stop Thora from marrying Cobalt Kid.
  • Immediately, they are attacked by an army of femi-nazi’s. Many LMBers strike out against them in space, including Icefyre, Danny Blaine, Kara, Harbinger, Lash Lad, Dev-Em, Lucien Lad and others.
  • Shark Lad and Furball also join them, but immediately begin battling each other.
  • Princess Crujectra stays on board with Almost New Kid, whose powers of super-annoyance are of little use.
  • Semi-Transparent Fellow and Varalent act as the Espionage Squad and break into Taltar to free Space Ranger.
  • Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester disguise themselves as nurses to see where Thora is. They find Thora is surrounded by a royal guard, including a female doctor named Doctor Lesbon.
  • Outdoor Miner and Arachne enter Taltar through their own means and journey to the slave pits. They then recognize that they must free the slaves there.
  • At home, Super Lad Kid patrols Legion World. Suddenly, he is attacked by Evil Queen! She is supposedly joined by Winema Wazzo, Tarik the Mute and Tarik’s Android, as well as a mysterious fifth person. The Emerald Empress, Fat Cramer, Grey Birdboy, Lower Middle Income Lad and Iron Rat.
  • Space Ranger appears to Semi and Varalent, but is under the control of Thora, due to the Golden Dildo of Taltar! The powerful Daxamite soon attacks his fellow LMBers.
  • Thora appears to go into labor (this is later revealed to be untrue). What is actually happening is Dr. Lesbon is casting an illusion that Thora is in labor. Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid, dressed as nurses, help the illusion Thora give birth with Dr. Lesbon, when it is actually Dr. Lesbon herself that has given birth. Crazy enough, the child to come out is the Avatar Beast, which takes on the form of animal avatars. It soon takes on the form of a Shark Lad/Furball combination and heads into space to attack the LMB and the femi-nazis.
  • Femizons attack Eryk Davis Ester and Cobalt Kid, until they are suddenly saved by a major surprise: LardLad! LardLad, dressed as a femi-zon (and using the reasoning that there are plenty of fat chicks on Taltar with beards and dicks), saves EDE and Cobalt and rescues them. However, it remains a mystery if Thora was ever on Taltar at this time to begin with.
  • Arachne and Outdoor Miner, through ingenious use of combining their powers, are able to free all the male slaves.
  • Semi and Varalent are able to free Space Ranger from the clutches of the Golden Dildo of Taltar. They then rejoin Arachne and Outdoor Miner, Eryk Davis Ester, Cobalt Kid and LardLad and teleport to the ship. Dr. Lesbon, who still appears to be a doctor, is enamored with EDE and Lardy teleports her too by accident.
  • On Earth, the LMB go to rescue Super Lad Kid, and battle the villains there. Tarik the Mute, his android and Winema Wazzo are captured, but all appear to actually be hallucinations. Evil Queen, however, is very real, and she prepares to kill Super Lad Kid. The Emerald Empress, with no other option, uses the Emerald Eye to vanquish her on the spot, and kills her. The fifth member remains a mystery.
  • The LMBers in space battle the Avatar Beast and defeat it again, unsure of what it is. With the illusions lifted, neither the femi-nazis nor the LMB are sure of what’s real anymore and agree to an easy truce.
  • The LMB return home, wit Dr. Lesbon in toe. Later, a secret investigation led by Cobalt Kid and Semi-Transparent Fellow reveal that Dr. Lesbon was behind the whole operation, working for an illusion casting villain, who was the mysterious fifth member on Legion World. They would not know until the very end of the Dark Stu Saga, who this villain truly was (re: the main villain behind the Dark Stu Saga).
  • LardLad rejoins his friends, although tragedy has now struck. The Emerald Empress, after committing murder, demands to be put on trial for regicide. Dr. Lesbon does not make it Earth, fearing that she would be found out.

- Upon returning home, the LMB learn that Evil Queen is dead and the Emerald Empress wishes to be tried for regicide. The LMB find her not guilty for reasons of self-defense, but the Empress still wishes to be tried by another royal, Princess Crujectra, for killing a royal (Evil Queen). Cobalt Kid places her into his custody per her wishes.

- Tarik the Mute and his Android, are not seen for some time after this (as of this narrative, they have not been seen since). Winema Wazzo is also not seen for a time.

- The Royal Inquisitor makes his presence known to the LMB for the first time. He posts a note on the door of Princess Crujectra’s Headquarters, announcing the start of his ‘ Inquisition ’. He says that he finds the Emerald Empress guilty, and that he plans to execute her for her crimes.

The Trial of the Emerald Empress The Trial of the Emerald Empress finally comes, and a major show of support from the LMB comes out for her—and for the first time in her life, she feels accepted. Various LMBers, ranging from Varalent, Semi, Space Ranger, Harbinger, Cobalt Kid, Icefyre and a variety of others tell the Royal Inquisitor to back off. The Inquisitor replies by charging all of them in his inquisition and swears revenge. However, he makes no move at this time, although he is placed on the Office of Security’s Wanted List. Princess Crujectra finally deliberates and finds the Empress ‘not guilty’.

- Quislet, Esq. opens up his “ Super Law Firm...of Space! ” in response to being asked a variety of questions on the law. This becomes a popular and frequently visited establishment on Legion World.

- Kid Prime returns to Legion World toward the end of Princess Crujectra and Eryk Davis Ester’s term.

Ms. Grundy visits SHAKES Legion World gets a strange visitor when Ms. Grundy visits SHAKES one night. Strange things happen as the night progresses, including Pastor Uptight N. joining her and many LMBers suddenly becoming much more conservative and resentful to civil liberties. Soon, Icefyre is planning on marrying Umber, Cobalt Kid and Eryk Davis Ester lead a Gestapo-inspired Security office, and other LMBers all are very unlike themselves. Only certain LMBers, such as Space Ranger, Kid Prime, Faraway Lad and Grey Birdboy are able to fight this, and they soon act as a resistance under Princess Crujectra’s orders. Finally, the LMBers gather at Hi-Risk Von Tingle’s mansion after the wedding of Icefyre and Umber is halted, where Paster Uptight N., Princess Cru’Power, who may be related to the Jectra family, Jamie and Jessie Quickly two horrible twins with super-speed, Lex Herosbane and Emma Grundy all waited for them. After the LMBers battled each other, the distorted LMBers are returned to their normal selves, although all of the LMB soon feel the wrath of Lana and Lex Herosbane, who used their power to remind them of their greatest fear! Only Space Ranger is able to overcome this, as he breaks free and leads the LMB into the final battle! Learning their enemies were agents of Botoxalips, home of Evilseid, the true master of long-believed dead LMB foes Biegeseid and Plaidseid, the LMB take the fight to Botoxalips, calling in every available active and reserve LMBer..
Note- this was an actual LMB tag thread entitled “Ms. Grundy Visits SHAKES”.

- Stu sponsors a “ Beatles Tour of Legion World”, as the famous group is brought from the past to invade the super-hero planet.

- Anti-Lad and Giant Robotic Lesbian, still both on Legion World, have a crazy night on the town. Although not getting too out of hand, they do create quite a bit of chaos.

- Doctor Mayavale enters Legion World and sets up shop. He often tells of the various times he’s been betrayed in his other lives—often times by LMBers in their other lives!

- Thora settles on Legion World permanently. She remains hostile to Cobalt Kid, although there are times when the two appear to enjoy each other’s company. Some LMBers remain on hostile terms with her (i.e. Arachne, Princess Crujectra, etc.), although some come to know her better (i.e. Fat Cramer). She gives birth to a baby girl named Umber, for the color of her eyes.

- Lower Middle Income Lad changes his name back to Poverty Lad.

- The denizens of Legion World, impressed by the conduct of the Office of Security and enamored with the legend of the poster known as Cobalt Kid, erect a giant statue in his honor. As the first Legion World Statue, The Statue of the Legendary Poster Known as Cobalt Kid becomes infamous. The name of the street it is on (parallel to Embassy Row) is changed to Statue Way.

- Almost New Kid takes on the job of Official Legion World Janitor. This thankless job incorporates a variety of things and actually gives Abin an ironic bit of power.

- Almost immediately, Almost New Kid (aka Abin Quank), Sanity or Madness? (now known as Reboot) and Poverty Lad begin tampering with the Statue of Cobalt Kid. The Emerald Empress, the LMB Spectre and a host of others continually restore it for him. At one point, a giant statue of a bidet is erected in downtown Legion World.

- Giant Squid, an Alt ID reporter, makes his way to Legion World and becomes a major media figure. He covers all of the major LMB and Legion World events through his broadcasts.

- Almost New Kid takes on the new moniker “Almost But not Quite New Kid”.

- “Calamity” the official Legion World band forms at the Royal Psyonion Embassy. Some members include Outdoor Miner, Eryk Davis Ester, Icefyre, Cobalt Kid and others.

- Homecoming Queen, spending the majority of time shopping and looking for boys, becomes less active with the LMB.

- In light of the negative reaction to the LMB Enquirer’s shameless news printing, the Emerald Empress creates her own newspaper, “ Eye on Legion World ” to give a different viewpoint of various news events.

- Juan, who had been involved on and off with the LMB, becomes a full-fledged Doctor, specializing in single-celled amoebas. Taking the moniker Doctor One, he officially joins the LMB, and becomes their resident scientist specialist. Amusing enough, the LMBers seem to go to him for all problems even slightly related to going to a doctor of any kind. Thus, Doctor One joins the LMB!

- Thora sends her baby to Taltar to undergo traditional treatment for infants. While there, a scientific experiment goes wrong and an interdimensional vortex opens up. Baby Umber is sent backwards into the past fifteen years and across space into another dimension. The residue left behind strangely echoes the same residue noted both two years earlier and fifteen years earlier. Both Thora and Cobalt Kid are devastated. This further distances Thora from the rest of Legion World.

Return to Earth After months of being away from Earth since the Corporate takeover, the LMB considers organizing a small espionage force to journey there and see what has been happening there. A meeting consisting of Eryk Davis Ester, Icefyre, Cobalt Kid, Shark Lad, Nightcrawler, Varalent, Space Ranger and Lash Lad is held, and it is decided that Lash Lad will remain on Monitor Duty, while the rest return to Earth. However, the monotony of the Corporate Earth is able to best many of the LMB, causing the mission to be a failure. Fortunately, a more thorough attempt by Blockade Boy, Icefyre, Space Ranger, Jim Gallagher, Eryk Davis Ester, Iron Rat and Nightcrawler succeed. Leap Year Lass and Rhino also join them, and the two are able to set up a special means of transport between places that later becomes accessible to Eryk Davis Ester and Lash Lad.
