I don't really get why Hiro couldn't save his father. We've heard all the arguements before, but none of them convince me. Is it just this old-fashioned notion that heroes have to be self-sacrificing for us to admire them? I dunno... I mean really, he could've froze time a few seconds before they went over the edge and killed Adam. Done. Oh, but that's too easy I guess...
And at the hostage trade-off, what made HRG think duck tape would hold Lightning Lass? The water thing with Mr Muggles' bath was smart, but what made him think nothing would happen once she wasn't in water?
I think they've said that the writers' strike didn't affect this story, but if that's true, what the hell was the point of having Infectious Lass around? That story seemed to go nowhere - Sylar could've found Mohinder on his own, and while my own theory that a girl with sickness powers might somehow get some play in the plague story was off, she didn't seem to do anything (or maybe her powers were a red herring)
I wouldn't mind seeing the end of Nikki (take Micah with her though). It seems that anyone not related to the older generation storyline isn't as important.
Peter could've just walked through the vault door -- duh!
I hope Lightning Lass sticks around - they've done a good job making her somewhat sympathetic and now she's gotten a taste of what it's like to be a hero. Will she decide to be one? And will it be for the right reasons?

The first hour appears to be a clip show of last season. 1st get back up to speed then get ready for some fast and loose setup for the next round of episodes. I've got 'em on DVD so I'm going to watch The Sarah Conner Chronicles THEN switch over to Heroes.

I must say, Season Three already looks to be a big improvement over Season Two, so I'm pretty pleased so far. There was plenty of interaction among characters we care about and a lot of mystery and intrigue to go around.
I guess, though, the future disaster was a little too reminiscent of Season One's New York disaster. (Was that another explosion or a killer tsunami?)
It certainly seems like Adam might have survived his fate and will be back, doesn't it? Where is Claire's flying boyfriend? And is Mrs. Petrelli really Sylar/Gabriel's mother?
Anyhow, I'm hooked and am happy to see Heroes back and, apparently, the ship righted.

Two disasterous futures..I think. I'm not sure if the future Hiro hopped to was the same as the one scarface Peter came back from. I don't think they were.
Is this the first time the schizophrenic whats-her-name has manifested the freeze power? I don't remember her being able to do that before and it could make for an interesting twist. Are their powers somehow affected by their preconceptions? I mean check out Dr. Spiderman, he mentioned that he thought he'd get super strength or something like that before he injected himself with the untried serum.
One more thing, have any of these writers EVER read a comic book? Hiro pulled a slick trick on the speedster but everybody else fell for the oldest cliches in the literature. Retcons, super serums, nobody stays dead, the unintended consequences of time travel and most importantly ignoring Jimminy Cricket.
I enjoy the show a LOT but we've seen every one of these plot devices before. All they need is somebody with claws and it's full on 80s Marvel comics.

YK,
I definitely think the future that Hiro saw is a different one from the one Scar Peter came from. After all he said that stopping NAthan from revealing that people had powers was the key event. And Momma Petrelli seems to think the future has changed. She seemed rather sarcastic when she would tell Scar Peter "Go back to where you came from".

Originally posted by Quislet, Esq.: She seemed rather sarcastic when she would tell Scar Peter "Go back to where you came from". Something else else that bugged me from season two (well, one of the things...) is whether or not the future still exists after being changed. Can Peter 'go back where he came from?' Or is it gone, wiped out by the butterfly effect of the changes he's made? The reason it bugged me in season two, is that Peter left his girlfriend Caitlin in the post-plague future, and then went back and prevented that future from happening. Whither Caitlin? Was she wiped out of existence? Did she get squeezed back out to the point where she'd left, in the middle of present-day New York City? Does the post-plague future still exist, with her trapped in it, as an alternate future continuum? She wasn't that interesting of a character, but it seems amazingly callous of Peter to just forget her like that, considering that he may well have wiped her out of existence (after being responsible for the death of her brother, destruction of her workplace, etc.). Hiro continues to bug me. Once again, he endangers the entire world by being a doofus, and it looks like Ando is the oft-ignored voice of reason. 'Oh Ando, I'm so bored with my billions of dollars and international corporation. Let's put the entire world at risk again so that I can have a swell time running around and being incompetent!' Nice to see both Ali Larter and Adrian Pasdar survived their characters apparent deaths. I like both actors, and both characters have potential. I really want to see Nikki/whomever get control of her self (selves) and her power(s), and become less of a victim of both. I like strong female characters, and, as Claire complains, her power is pretty much passive. 'Yes, I have the power to get hurt, a lot. Whoopy.' Nikki gaining control over herself and her powers would really help to turn this away from being 'the Peter, Sylar and Hiro show, with some chicks.' As for Nathan, shades of Linderman abound, and it remains to be seen if he's going to be able to somehow tap Linderman's power. It would be a massive boost to his messianic turn if he was seen *healing* someone... Surresh seems to have gone mental, channeling Jeff-Goldblum-as-The-Fly levels of manic-ness. He's almost unrecognizable personality-wise. Still, he was deadly dull before, so perhaps he'll be more interesting as an oaty fruity bar. Angela Petrelli is quickly becoming a favorite character, no matter how cold she is. I'm also looking forward to seeing what's in the cards for Elle.

Random prediction.
The dude who made Hiro's sword was a 'hero' as well, with the power to imbue special power into items he crafted.
The sword is the only weapon that can kill someone with Claires healing powers. Future Peter's scar is testament to it's ability to leave permanant wounds on people who can heal...

I like how Claire doesnt feel anything anymore, i was wondering when they were going to get around to that. I just find it hard to believe a person would put themselves through extreme pain, broken neck, broken back just to make sure you were human, why not pinch yourself. Did anyone ever read NEXT MEN by JOHN BYRNE, the invulnerable blonde in that book was the same way, she couldnt feel anything, eventually she felt no emotions, then her body started to turn white, almost marble i guess, it was very cool.
Where is Jessie, if the real Peter is in his body, is the conciousness of Jessie being held back by Peter?

I've become really intrigued with Nickii/Jessica/???. I can't help but wonder if she's something like Crazy Jane (one of my favorite comic characters of all time!) her dissociative disorder causing multiple personalities each with it's own unique power.
I'm also really curious about the Linderman/Nathan thing. It doesn't make much sense if it's just a figment of his imagination. I'm sure the explanation will be... interesting.
Click Here For A SpoilerI highly suspected Sylar was related to someone. The Petrellis being the most obvious. The sneak peek of Angela "feeding" him was pretty creeptastic.

Finally saw it last night! My power (that is the electricity ) was still Monday night. My mom DVRed and and waited till I was here so we could watch it together (Yes, I am a second-generation geek ). Tracy has finally gotten me to care about Niki (assuming that they are the same person). I always found Niki the most boring character, but I like Tracy. Of course, I'm partial to characters with ice powers. I love Future Peter (Of course, I love Peter in any way, shape or form ). His "losing" Present-Day Peter was actually kind of funny. One thing: Isn't painting the future just a little too common in that universe?

I can't believe no one's mentioned Ali Larter's (Tracy/Nicki/Jessica's) LIPS in those episodes! Oh my GAWD!!! I dunno if it was just the bright red lipstick or if Ali's gotten some major work done, but those lips were effin' HUGE!!! Swear to god, they've given me nightmares! (maybe the cold powers aren't the only ones Tracy has?!?!?)

Wow what a bombshell that Mrs. Petrelli dropped about being Sylar's mother. and i knew it was gonna happen, HRG & Sylar teaming up to bring in the escapees. would've liked to have seen the escapees do some more havok before HRG&Sylar brought them in. i wonder if there are anymore? and just how long before HRG finds Sylar's weekness and kills him.

nothing about Mohinder in this episode, and so Nikki is a clone, or maybe she is real and the ice lass is the only clone, assuming its clones

"You're the one from..." (what was the name of the town?) and "I created you." Could mean a) clones b) twins or trips (or more) c) something I haven't thought of yet..aliens?
Schizophrenia has been said to be a result of child abuse so I don't expect the other "sister" or "sisters" to also suffer from multiple personality disorder but at the same time doesn't that suggest that they're all potentially subject to a psychotic break?
Mrs. Petrelli has become one scary mother. Creepy too. What's her power? It seems that since Sulu died the power structure of the elder supers is in flux. Who is the speedster working for? Why was the Haitian carrying part of the formula? I'd like to see more of their power struggle than just an assumption that things are as they always were with new people giving the orders. I hope the writer flesh this subplot out some more as we go along.
Mohinder was in the advertizing clip for next week and there were spider webs all over the place. Something else else is definitely going on there and it's probably not anything good. Y'know?
Speaking of "painting the future" could anyone make out who it was the cop had in his arms? Was it the cheerleader or Lightning Lass? I couldn't tell.
I'll have to watch the rerun on G4 tonight and see if I can pick up on anymore hints.
