Oooooh... a Heroes spinoff for next season: from Yahoo Entertainment To stretch the normal 22-episode season of "Heroes," which faltered after its long hiatus this year, NBC will add "Heroes: Origins." The spinoff will introduce a new character each week, and viewers will select which one stays for the following season. The two series will have 30 new episodes combined.

Here\'s the Variety article. I like the idea of a 30 episode season and NBC is doing it with two shows I love.

Terrific episode tonight, with some pretty surprising twists, particularly the one involving Linderman. Wow: Click Here For A SpoilerAt least three deaths already--and a fourth imminent? Intense!
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

I kind of doubt we've seen the last of Linderman, he was too talked up early on for him not to continue into season 2, though I do have to confess that the actor playing him does nothing for me. All the while I'm expecting the second coming of Voldemort, instead I'm left sort of like... ehhh... Why does he strike fear in so many? Can't be just the money aspect, cause there are plenty around with as much cash. His power?... hardly leaves one quaking in one's shoes... so what's the deal? Unless of course his is a thread that the writers never got around to fleshing out for lack of ideas.
I'm still peeved that we still don't know what triggered this generation of heroes' powers to kick in, it's got to be more than sheer coincidence that they've all come to be become aware of their gifts at about the same time.
Still... I lurve this show.

One thing that kind of bugs me... with the raw number of "special" people around, and with it turning out that our "heroes" are at least the second generation... are we really supposed to believe that the existence of people with powers isn't widely known? That just seems kind of improbable, unless you've got tons of people like the Haitian making people forget things they've seen.

So, from the preview:
D.L. isn't dead, not quite anyway.
Parkman is shot in the side.
Someone jumps out of window while Nathan and Mama Petrelli look on--probably Claire.
I really feel horrible about what happened to Ted. His was a terrible power, and before he knew it he had done such damage. I don't think he ever recovered. Sylar is rillly beginning to piss me off. If he dies, I hope it's by having his skull sliced open and his brain extracted--over and over again.
I think someone on CBR's weekly Heroes chat with the writers mentioned Micah using his power to rig the election. Great call, and kudos to the writers for picking up on the whole electronic voting thing.
The scenes with Hiro and Takei were, well, wonderful. When George makes his first move, surprising Hiro, I saw the same glint in his eye as when he was spaced-out Sulu musketeering around the Enterprise with his shirt off more than 40 years ago (choke!). It brings a tear to my eye thinking of it. I am so grateful to the show's producers, not just for giving George the part, but for making it such a good one, one that he could shine in.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

George was indeed wonderful, and I too recalled that spaced-out Sulu/Enterprise episode during that scene!
Also seconded on the Sylar thing. OFF HIM ALREADY, as painfully as possible!!
I'm enjoying the HEROES ride a lot, but I'm worried that we're going to be left with some excruciating cliffhanger that makes us wait long months for a sense of closure.
This might kill the show for non-comics fans. And we comic fans, already used to cliffhangers, probably won't be happy either!

Good stuff with Sulu. He did kinda remind me of Day of the Dove. Kudos to whoever called Sulu to be a good guy.
I hope Linderman is dead. I've never been that big of a Malcom McDowell fan (although now that I think of it, compare the pretty boy of Clockwork Orange to Linderman--whew, getting old is rough!). Can he heal himself? That's a pretty freakin' big hole in his head...
Hiro calling Flying Man a villain--brilliant.
Good stuff. By far the best episode yet, eclipsing the Days of Future Past episode.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!

Yes, I wonder how important Hiros' words will become -- especially if Sylar dies. It may answer the question, "Who will be the villain of the show?" Nathan certainly seems headed that way, now that Linderman's dead as well.
*Prediction for Syler's death* This actually came to me in a dream -- Hiro will kill Syler with the sword, but instead of running him through, Claire tells him at the last second to strike through the back of the head (where Peter told her to shoot him). It probably doesn't make sense since Syler doesn't have Claire's powers, but I figured I'd put it out there...

I really hope not, Nathan is much more interesting as he is now (basically decent, but doing everything he can to conceal that). I'm having a bad feeling about his mother, though.

Did anyone catch the all day marathon that Sci-Fi had yesterday? Kind of fraked up, if you ask me. They promised all but the finale to air and they still didn't show the pilot/first episode. And to make it worse, they showed them all out of order! WTF!? I think I said this somewhere else before but that's like showing hour 22 of 24 before hour 10.

How weird! Why wouldn't they show the pilot? Didn't they settle the lawsuit ages ago?

Maybe they were just too lazy to edit the scene out. I figured the first one showed, the only one without a description, would be it but it turned out to be the Homecoming episode.

They did show the pilot, it was just one of the last episodes shown in the marathon.

I went through and read each one and the pilot was not included. So if they did show it, it wasn't per my Comcast or TiVo program information. Which would tick me off as both are more and more frequently incorrect with programming info.

Hmm... I thought it was okay, but it seemed more interesting as setup for next season than conclusion for this one.
The Peter-Sylar battle was pretty weak.
And Nathan's heroic sacrifice was a bit too obvious.

It was fine and all, but I *was* hoping for more of a knockdown-dragout fight.
At least Nikki got some licks in.
