I had kinda wondered about that, even before learning that Linderman had powers.

Question?

Paint guy said he could die with the satisfaction that he had told the others how to kill Syler (did I get the right?).

Has that already been shown, hot to kill Syler?

It looked to me like the entire floor Syler was stapling him to was a painting of some sort. Is it?

I really need to stop trying to multi-task during this show. There's too much going on to follow it all without full attention.

The painting on the floor is the painting of New York blowing up.

The secret to killing Sylar is (I believe) in the final issue of his comic, which he sent to the printer via courier earlier in the episode. It wasn't shown what the secret is, although he did show part of one page when he was talking to the courier. I can't remember what it showed, though.

Anyone think the notoriously touchy Alan Moore (not a slight, I *love* him) or his lawyers might have a few gripes about the WATCHMEN-ish turns HEROES has taken?

We saw three things from that comic:
-- Hiro in the future standing on the rooftop with Ando.
-- Hiro swinging his sword
Now this is probably the relevant part:
-- A hand (apparently male and wearing a shirt and suit) stabbing someone in the back of the neck with a hypodermic needle.

There was a vague clue to Mama Petrelli's power on tvguide.com...I think some of you are on the right track.

Nathan and Peter's relationship just seems "off" to me somehow...I am sure they are driving home the fact that they are so close so it'll be more "powerful" when the are (inevitably) on opposing sides, but IMHO, they are written more like a romantic couple than siblings. Some of that dialogue...like when Nathan said something this week about not being able to live without Peter or something like that? I mean, I love my brother and all, but geez...

I think Mahinder may have a superpower after all--the power to not register any kind of facial expression no matter what the situation! Seriously, that dude is one terrible actor.

Does anyone understand just what Nikki/Jessica's powers are? Is she just a badass? I wonder if she'll get her husband to help get their son back? And does Linderman have any other superpowered henchmen (other than shapeshifter girl)?

I didn't really mind that they killed off Isaac; he wasn't that intresting. They can do the same with Parkman and Exploding Guy, too.

I'm really enjoying this show, but in the future, I'd rather see season long arcs, like Buffy, than one long continuous story that always gets muddled and bogged down (Lost, I'm looking at you).

Has anyone checked out the online HEROES comic, lastest issue explains what happened in the future hiro's timeline. Very cool i thought, and insightful at least to me.

As near as I can tell, she has super-strength, but only as Jessica.

It seems like Ma and Pa Petrelli were pretty stinting on the emotional sentiment, and the kids ended up having only each other as examples of human feeling.

But yeah, their relationship feels less like traditional siblings and more like identical twins, where one becomes 'the outgoing one' and the other becomes 'the shy one' and they sort of push farther into their respective niches, using each other to balance out. That seems to me to be what Nathan was saying with the whole 'I can't live without you' bit. That Nathan, by himself, is a cold bastard, and Peter 'balances him out' by being a nice guy.

how could they? writing like music is based on what's come before. The Stars my Destination is The Count of Monte Cristo
updated.
and Watchmen premise(well the villian's plan anyway) was the same as an episode of Outer Limits.

without sin, cast the first stone and all that good stuff.

Your jaw will have company on the floor. I am pulling my hair out in anticipation. 3 episodes left. A new tiny tot hero.

One gripe -- had future Hiro ALREADY gone back in time to give Peter the save the cheerleader, save the world spiel? The web comic says yes, but the actual episode left me confused on this point.

count me in too.....my jaw hurts so bad when it was dropped down on the floor. *clunk* *bang*

I wonder about two characters - the nuclear guy and the wireless woman. they did very good job on making all those characters more interesting - such as Hiro, Jessica, Peter, and Parkman. It was very awesome.

So if Peter explodes and not Sylar, how will killing Sylar save everybody? Should be interesting...

I find it hard to believe that Sylar is such a good actor that no one guesses for five years that he's not really Nathan.

Also, I guess we can kiss Illusion Girl goodbye before the end of the season...

Lardie,

You hit on something I was thinking about this morning after jaw reattachment surgery.

Namely, future Hiro believed that Sylar was responsible for the explosion. He also knows that he stabbed Sylar before the blow-up. He therefore assumed that Sylar didn't die and had Claire's regeneration powers. Therefore, "save the cheerleader, save the world." But all of this is based on future Hiro's lack of knowledge about the real culprit behind the explosion: Peter. We know it, because it's been a major plot point for months, but HIRO doesn't know it. And the whole "save the cheerleader" thing seems like a massive red herring at this point. Does anyone have a different view?

And, as far I can remember from last night, PRESENT Hiro didn't learn anything in the future that would alter the trajectory that led to FUTURE Hiro and the hellish future. Or did he? I honestly can't remember.

So, PRESENT Hiro has come back to the present, intent on killing Sylar, when Sylar isn't the one who blows up New York. So, how can anything end up differently?

My only thought is, that PRESENT Hiro does come back from the future with the information that Nathan Petrelli is going to turn into a very, very bad man (even though it's really Sylar, which I'm not sure PRESENT Hiro saw--OY!) Hiro and Nathan have a bit of a relationship. So, one possibility is PRESENT Hiro somehow alters Nathan's decision-making. As we hurtle towards doomsday, Nathan is thinking two things: "If Peter blows up New York, I can become President, but I have to protect Peter from the consequences." So, after the bomb, to protect Peter, Nathan blames Sylar, who everyone will now think is dead, inadvertantly giving Sylar free rein to destroy the future.

Can't say she's endeared me to her much, however...it's unspecified as to when exactly Sylar killed Nathan, and we don't really know when he killed Illusion Girl. Both could've happened any time after the explosion in the timeline.

I'd guess Nathan was probably elected and served for a short time before being replaced. I'd guess it was Nathan, at least, who helped cover-up for Peter.

On another note, funny how our perception of HRG (Claire's dad) has changed since that first episode. In a way he's the biggest hero on the show. Hope he survives!

Man! Does my head hurt, DC (my evil twin wink )! I wonder how the "9 Wonders" comic ends. Is that panel of Hiro doing the deed the final one? How extensive is Isaac's roadmap?

If Future Hiro did stab Sylar, then how'd he survive? I sure hope the writers have this all figured out!

My half-baked theory for the finale is that Hiro will somehow change Nathan's mind. And Nathan will fly his brother somewhere to explode safely and spare New York, sacrificing himself. I'm sure that if Nathan knew the man in the painting was actually Sylar and not him, he would change his mind.

But Hiro doesn't know that!

Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh!

Everyone believed sylar killed claire, they didnt even explain how this timeline's claire survived or why everyone was given the impression she was dead, to save her for sylar..yes, but i dont get it.
I believe hiro will kill sylar and be forced to stab peter, however peter has healing powers so he will survive and no explosion.

You know, I wrote that post, and my brain has basically turned to mush. Good thing I actually got a lot of work done earlier today.

I wonder if today's smarter kids will have an easier time discussing contingent-reality time travel than I do?

I thought it was really interesting how "comic book-y" this show has become. They boosted Watchmen last week, this week they boost Days of Future Past. Loved it. LOVED Peter and Hiro kicking ass.
