Claire's father is obviously Linderman. Nathan is a bit young to have a 17(or so) yr old child (not impossible but improbable). So many subplots are pointing to Linderman. He's Nathan's financial backer and father's former business partner-or something along thoise lines. He's got Hiro's Sword. He buys lots of Isaac's paintings. Niki owes/owed him for something. And I seem to get the impression he is responsible for DL having been in jail but I may be mistaken on that one. If there's any connection to Parkman or Mohinder so far I haven't seen it but I'll bet something comes up. So one of the biggest plot-hinges has to be Linderman. Maybe he's pulling the strings. Maybe he has the key as to why they all have their abilities. Maybe Hiro's old man is his Japanese counterpart or lackey? Maybe Bennet works for him.
Is that a moon?

it wouldnt surprise me either if Linderman was Claire's dad, as was posted before, all things seem to lead to him. I didnt get the impression that the "heroes" were genetically altered, or MLLASH when you say this do you mean just genetically different?

Great Space! Tonight's episode seemed pretty groovy, but my television reception was all crappy, so I couldn't read any of the subtitles during Hiro's scenes!

I'm just glad we got the whole episode. Some kind of emergency broadcast knocked out our cable DVR so it refused to continue taping 24 and Heroes both. So we wound up with Heroes in three pieces, missing only about a minute or two of the show. But I was worried the closer the end got that it would cut off before they revealed Claire's father. I knew it had to be Nathan.
As for the character that won't survive, they have said one main character won't make it to season two, I think it will be Matt.

Nathan is only a year older than myself (I'm 40). There's no reason to believe that the character would be any younger than the actor. That would mean he had Claire when he was 24. Not all that young and definitely not improbable.

Scott, I told my wife last week Claire's father was probably Nathan. I knew from the preview for tonight's ep that Claire's birth-mom called the father, and since the preview didn't show who answered the phone, we figured it was someone we "knew" already. Nathan seemed to fit the bill! So when Peter felt drawn to save the cheerleader, he had no clue she was also his niece!
And go, Hiro!!!! Way to stand up to your dad, dude!

Another good ep tonight, makes me wish the season was already on dvd. I would of rather that Claire's dad turned out to be Linderman but it looks it being Nathan will make for some entertaining tv. The new twist in the Jessica/Nikki plot is probably the most interesting it's been so far. Honestly I thought most her stuff had been dragging the show down.

Hmmm... it sounds like we're now dealing with Heroes, the next generation, with an earlier version having been found 15 years earlier, Nathan, Fire mom, Invisible guy.

I thought it was a good episode. The last 10 minutes was all good stuff. I miss when Saturn Cop Matt is not included (as in this episode) but it looks like he gets some time in next week. For some reason, I really like that character and would love to see him mix it up with Mr. Bennett and Sylar. This is probably why I'd rather see the Haitian guy be the one who doesn't last thru Sweeps Week, although I think he could become an interesting character as well.
My prediction is the Invisible Man is the one who kicks the bucket. The Haitian is my second guess, and Simone third likely to get the boot.
I also predict that Linderman is a character we haven't met yet and is the real father to the Pertrelli brothers. Hiro will be the first to meet him on screen at the end of this season.
I missed the limo license plate too!

I don't think it will be the invisible Dr. Who. The writers have specifically stated it was someone who was around in the first episode. Unless you want to say he was there, just invisible.

NCC 1701 That's too funny! Since you asked about the license, I figured it would be a variation of "NTRPRIZR" or something, since he's now portraying a CEO, but that's even better that they used the actual # from the ship! Love Easter Eggs!

I'd predict Isaac as the death, since he already died in the future Hiro visited.

hey maybe it's Ando? just because he doesn't have any powers doesn't mean the "sidekick" can't die doing something heroic, or it might be Simone. does it say weither or not it's gonna be any of the "Specials" that dies?

I wonder if Issac would be able to paint his own death, or if he would have a blind spot to it like Nura did in the threeboot?

Did anyone else think Invisible Bum would throw Peter off the building to test the "you can utilize the powers if you really need to" theory? And I had the same thought John, that it might be Ando. That would suck though, because he and Hiro are a dynamic duo!

you know Craig, that just reminded me of the first run of the New Warriors back in the 90's were Night Thrasher had thrown a "powerless" Richard Ryder aka Nova off a building to reactivate his lost "Nova" powers, and if i remember so Nova asked him (Night Thrasher) how he knew that that would give him his powers back. and Night Thrasher replyed he wasn't sure.

It's worth noting that Hiro (and his dad) have already become heroes of sorts -- not many Japanese women get a shot at leadership in major corporations.
Do I want to go on record predicting Saturn Cop's demise? That was the clear indication from the preview of the next episode.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"
