Eden's powers probably work like hypnotic suggestion -- the farther it is from something you'd actually do, the more time and effort it takes to work. Sylar was so singularly focused on getting her, and then he broke her concentration, she wasn't able to get him to do it in time.

It took more than a single sentence from her to get Isaac to do the drugs again so he'd paint. And, assuming she wasn't lying to HRG (maybe she and the Haitian were in cahoots), she used her powers to try to get Mohinder to stay (and they even showed her whispering into his ear like she did to Isaac), and he still left.

If his power is truly just figuring out how things "tick" and how to "fix" them, like the manifestation with his clockworking skills, absorption might just be a side effect. The reason he couldn't break out right away was that he had to use his true power to figure out how the chamber worked, and/or he was waiting for Eden to come in so he could get her power.

Peter's last dream was interesting. Not only was Simone in it, but so was Ando. That made me think that they're just important, not necessarily that they have powers. But you never know with this show.

As for his illness, I'm stumped, but I have an idea for his prophetic dreams. He has had a couple of them. And when Simone told him about the dream her father had, and Peter'd had a dream about her dad when the dad died, too, I thought maybe Simone's father had a dream power, and since Peter spent so much time with him, it's stuck around longer.

Should we start calling Peter "Rogue"? wink

I loved the scene with Saturn Cop and Peter, and it was like a microphone getting feedback as Peter unknowingly absorbed telepathy.

I think it is a bummer that Claire's buddy no longer remembers anything, since he has been her confidante recently.

So, the Haitian has an agenda too? Cool! I wonder who else he's working with? Why is he telling Claire she must remember her powers, it is very important that she remember her powers (something akin to the "save the Cheerleader, save the world?" scenario).

I too am tired of the Nikki storyline. I think her husband and son are more interesting, and I don't think a jail will hold her anyway. Once Jessica takes over again, she can rip off the door or window and leave... so she's obviously still around.

And I agree that by killing herself as she did, Eden stopped Sylar from copying her abilities. Good thing for the other Heroes, but a shame it cost her life. I knew her attempt to kill him would backfire the moment she told HRG her idea. Coupling that with previews for this week (when it said one would die), I figured that she might be the doomed one. frown

Can't wait for this show to return! Definitely my favorite new show of the season!

I almost missed this week's episode. I was thinking that last week they said that the show would return in January, so I was going to take it out of my VCR timer for now. Then I just happened to double check at 9:00 last night and saw it beginning, so I watched it. Guess I mizunderstood smile

Also, wasn't the Haitian with Eden when she captured him with her powers? This seems to tell us that the Haitian can not only block one person's power, but also has the ability to allow for another's to occur in the same proximity.

When she went back, the haitian wasn't there to block out Sylar, so her powers were useless on him.

Also sad about Mind-Control Maiden, but definitely cool that she took herself out. So Sylar (who seems to be even creepier now that he has a face) is on the loose again. So many tasty brains around--which one will he choose? Could he really eat Claire's brain, or would she just heal back again? She has actually been clinically dead and come back (the science of that makes my head hurt, but oh well...), so COULD he get her at all? Funny how hard Creepy Dad is working to protect a girl who is invulnerable.
It was shown in the episode where Claire was autopsied that her healing didn't begin until after the piece of wood was removed from her brain. So, if her brain is removed, no healing.

(HRG, maybe?)
I wonder if the illness was somehow related to his leeching Saturn Cop's powers. He seemed to start looking sick after that. Or it could have been caused by his leeching of Sylar, and it just took awhile to show up.

Also, Peter has been shown to be having prophetic dreams since the beginning of the series. Remember his dreams that he could fly? Those occurred before his brother was revealed to have the ability. I think there were other dreams as well.

From what I'm gathering from bits and pieces, I think that Sylar opens up people's heads to better study their brains, and detect the genetic makeup that gives them their powers. He then alters his own generic makeup to gain those abilities. I don't think that there's any brain eating going on. When Eden blew her brains out, she effectively prevented him from copying her powers. [/b]
ok but is Sylar trying to get tha abilities of all of the "Specials" or is he kinda like "culling" the heard, with the telekinetic he sensed that something was wrong with him, and with Total recall lass she was gonna die anyway. i wonder if all of his vitcims were genetically flawed some way and he thinks of himself as a purifier of his species?

I tend to think that Sylar wants to be special, and to him being special means that no one else is. I think he wants to eliminate the competition.

I was bummed to see Suggestion Lass bite the dust. I pretty much assume anyone not on the ads is fodder, but dang, that Nora Zehetner's a cutie! (bad enough to lose uber cutie Memory Maiden) I agree it's not clear why Sylar's powers worked when they did and I hope they explain soon how he "alters his own DNA"

I have to wonder why Claire's father didn't do the big memory wipe with her and her friend a lot earlier, especially after he found the tape.

How bugged out was Isaac's last painting? Hiro in land of the lost?? What are the odds he's going to spend time there - it'll likely be just a very brief jaunt/detour.

My first impression about Peter was that his powers are overloading him somehow - especially since we didn't see Nuclear Lad in the dream.

I think it's unclear so far wether or not it's Peter who actually causes the explosion. My guess is that nuculear dude has something to do with it. One thing I was thinking about is that if he and the other "Heroes" were in some sort of battle with Sylar, Peter would not only have all their abilities but Sylar's as well making him potentially the most powerful character and able to kick Sylar's ass.

23 days until the next episode and I'm counting every one.

Did you hear Hiro was nominated for a Golden Globe? Best Supporting Actor. And the show was nominated for Best Drama.

According to Comics Continuum , NBC has already issued a full season pick up for season two of Heroes. Here's to hoping they can keep it going and not stumble like Lost did.

I saw a preview clip of Hiro and Ando in a museum over at MySpace. I'd link you to it but I forgot exactly where it was. It was pretty cool.

Okay the DJ at the station I listen to must be a fan or this is a weird coincidence. Just as Heroes started here he started playing the new Shinedown song "Heroes".
