Yep, forgot Pete. Probably the only one worth mentioning in that group, but I still gotta put my vote down for Richard.

Chandler is not gay and in denial, "not that there's anything wrong with that!" Oops, wrong sitcom! smile

I know this because I am not gay and in denial and as I described above, we're like twins. But with different mothers and fathers. And he's an imaginary character on a TV show... wink

And as to the newer poll, I think the best relationships of the Friends (outside the pairings between the 6) were Richard and Monica, Chandler and Cathy, and Ross and Emily.

Funny -- sounds just like what someone in denial would say ... wink (still, I'd pay attention to the last episodes of the show just to be sure)

Wow Drake. So you think they're going to "out" Chandler by the end of the series? If he does, I guess I'll have to come out of the closet too. confused wink

1) Of all the people the Six have dated during the show, which of the friends' relationships did you like the most? (name one partner for each friend -- not counting Ross/Rachel and Chandler/Monica)

Ross/Emily
Monica/Richard
Rachel/Paulo (if for no other reason than to hear Ross mock him hehehe)
Chandler/Kathy ("You did some real good thinkin' in there!")
Phoebe/Minsk Guy (forget his name, played by Hank Azaria)
Joey/Phoebe (Okay, hasn't happened yet, but Phoebe said it would happen eventually, and I believe her!)

2) Do you think Chandler's really gay and just living in denial?

No, but he's terrified he might be "tricked" into being gay, I think. lol

3) Fav celebrity guest shot (Eliot Gould doesn't count since he's a recurring character).

Gotta go with Helen Hunt. Crossovers rule, and Mad About You was pure class!

1) Of all the people the Six have dated during the show, which of the friends' relationships did you like the most? (name one partner for each friend -- not counting Ross/Rachel and Chandler/Monica)
Ross -- Mona (although Ross/copier girl would've been a fun couple to watch)
Monica -- Richard
Joey -- Kristin Davis (if they had been a couple, I would've picked Leah Remini, the pregnant woman Joey helped through labor. They had good chemistry)
Chandler -- Cathy ("Chandler loves Cathy!"): Cathy and Chandler had the most believable relationship of all the friends except maybe Monica/Richard. Paget Brewster was a natural comedic actress who fit in well with the gang.
Pheobe -- though I really like Paul Rudd as Mike, I don't feel anything for their relationship. David/Pheobe was a more fun couple.
Rachel -- Jean Claude Van Damme? Bruce Willis? No -- Wynona Ryder! (or as Joey would say, "Yeah, baby!" -- I can hear the coconuts now...)

2) Do you think Chandler's really gay and just living in denial?
Not at all, but it's been a funny running joke.("I have homosexual hair?!") When you think about it, despite his image, Chandler has bedded a bevy of beauties -- Sofia Milos as the married woman with all the boyfriends, Jade who's legs were on that James Bond poster (she was *hot*), the cute girl from his office that he had to fire, Rachel's boss, the sleep talker etc...

3) Fav celebrity guest shot (Eliot Gould doesn't count since he's a recurring character).
Jennifer Saunders from Absolutely Fabulous as Emily's mother (I loved her reading of that line to Tom Conti "Yes ... There. You. Are...")

Well, we're down to the final three and we've gotten the obligatory last Janice appearance (looks like she'll have to guest on "Joey" if she wants to go for the hat trick and bed all three of the guys).

With two episodes left now, what do you want to see happen? Could be anything -- from Monica in a fat suit again to Gunther professing his love or Ursula dying a horrible death.

Looking back, if there were *three* things about the show you could change or have turned out differently, what would you choose to happen?

I didn't read any spoilers or anything for the third to last episode. I had no idea what was coming...

As soon as that real estate lady said she had another lady upstairs that was looking at the house, I turned to my wife and said, "OH MY GOD".

After the maternity ward with Rachel, they can't ever say there's a woman off screen at an inopportune time without me thinking of Janice.

That being said, it was still funny, although Janice was looking pretty old. Yikes. Her hair was enough to make my balls dissappear.

I can get on board with your questions too...

What do I want to see happen in the two episodes left? I just want some good, original laughs like the show has been delivering over the last 10 years. I want to see them move on with their lives like they are set up to do and like what happens to friends in real life. I don't want some cop out wedding for Ross and Rachel, if they do it, I want it done right, and maybe have Ross move to Paris with her. That sounds like something numbnuts would do. We pretty much already know what's going to happen with Joey and The Bings. I'm content with their resolutions.

As for Phoebe... it almost seems like her wedding was her resolution, and I'm content with that too. For me the only wrapping up left to do is Ross and Rachel.

I don't think a "shock" death for anyone would be satisfying, after getting you involved for 10 years with these characters... to kill one off in the last two episodes would be cheating. Heck they gave Nana her own episode and we never even saw her except on her death bed. They just don't have enough air time left to kill off one of the mains and do their death justice for the other characters as well as the loyal viewers. And that would be an abrupt change to the "spirit" of the show.

If there were three things I would change about the show...

1. I would definitely have made sure that naked Thursdays worked out (va va va voom).

2. I'm not sure I'd change anything else, I'm pretty happy with the run they had. I laughed, I cried, but mostly I laughed.

What I'd like to see happen before the show ends:
-- A scene with Pheobe and her parents (since the "orphan" has two parents now) -- they never followed up on her finding her dad. Throw Ursula in there too to break the tension.
-- A scene like the beginning of the show where the six of them are sitting in the coffee shop just shootin' the breeze, talking about random stuff.
-- One more marriage/divorce for Ross just for old times sake (there are two shows left after all wink

If I could have three things turn out differently than they did:
1 -- I'd like to have seen Chandler's ex Kathy stick around longer, making their breakup a bigger deal.
2 -- I'd never have done the whole "Joey loves Rachel" storyline. I didn't really buy it.
3 -- Ross should've had a brief marriage to Chandler's mom (think of all the "Ross as Chandler's dad" jokes that could've been made!).

Hmm...

Three Things That I Wished Had Turned Out Differently:

1. Phoebe and Minsk-Boy should have gotten married

2. Chandler and Kathy should have gotten married

3. Monica and Richard should have gotten married

Stop the constant ads already! It's getting maudlin! And they're doing it at the same time for the final "Frasier"s, but not nearly as many of them. This is the end of a series (or two), not the Apocalypse, fer chrissakes.

... Don't mind me. It got up to 100F today in my normally-not-needing-A/C apartment. The City of Angels is having sweat from our brows tarnish the halo.

When the show ends, can you guys post spoilers, so I can find out what happens? I've had to watch an episode or thirty over the last three years of having a girlfriend. She's totally obsessed! I couldn't believe when she told me it's on four times a day...and she watches them all every day!

Strangely, now I feel like I have an invested interest in the characters, especially Joey, my favorite one.

It's been "Friends" week leading up to the finale -- practically every news and entertainment show has been going on about the show and I still watch whichever ones I catch! Tonight's the "Dateline" two hour special (preceded by back-to-back eps).

One more day to go...I love the show and all, but it really is about time to go. One or two more seasons and its farewell might have been as "momentous" as Frasier's wink .

4 times a day, Des? I thought that was only on Thursdays. Lessee... 6:30 on FOX, 7:00 on WB, 7:30 on TBS Mon-Fri... and Thursdays on NBC.

When else is it on?

You know, that's kinda the way I am with Seinfeld. I watch the 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm showings every day on our local FOX station and then catch the 2 showings on TBS every day when I can.

I've lapsed on Friends over the last two seasons and not really kept up but will probably catch the reruns this summer. I just wish the finale wasn't on against the next to last episode of Survivor.

*(i hope the mods don't find this too racy for the boards))*

i remember listening to a old radio talk show here in the NYC area called the Radio chick and they did a callin poll and asked male and female listners;
"Which one of the Friends Characters:
Ross,Chandler,Rachel,Phoebe,Joey,Monica,&Joey
would you"?
1) "DO" ?
2) preform "oral" on ?
3) have "oral" preformed on you?

well for me my decission went like this:
i'd DO Phoebe or Ursula.
Preform oral on Rachel.
and have Monica preform oral on me.
so what about you folks....any takers?

Is this the kind of thing where we can't repeat our answers? If not, I'd say Rachel for #1 and #2 and Phoebe for #3. If so, then I'd swap out Monica for #2 (at least you know she'd be *clean* wink )

So, what'd y'all think of the finale?

Comments :
-- It all unfolded pretty much as expected. It wasn't like they were going to throw any curve balls at us for the final ep. This isn't "Dynasty" -- it's a feel good show and we got to see them all have their happy endings and say their goodbyes.
-- I was a bit surprised to see them show Gunther confess his feelings (the timing was funny for Ross' sake, but the scene itself between Rachel and Gunther was anti-climactic) and to finally hear an explanation for what happened to the chick and the duck.
-- It was funny to see that they all had keys though that door was locked maybe three times in the last ten years wink

It's been non-stop "Friends" since 7:00 tonight with the shows, reruns and retrospectives... and now they're on the "Tonight Show" -- gotta go!

Assuming I can't choose Phoebe for all three (which I would!):

1. Monica (She has an incredible amount of energy and would expend every bit of it proving that she's the best choice)

2. Phoebe (If I could only be with her in one way, I'd want it to be focused entirely on her pleasure, since I adore her...hmm, kinda like the one episode where Joey is so "selfless" and the girl kept sending him fruit baskets and flowers in appreciation)

3. Rachel (Since Rachel is a solid pick for any of the three categories, she gets the honor of cleaning up my ba...erm...batting clean-up.) wink

I thought the final episode did a great job of staying true to the spirit of "what had come before". It didn't have the "feel" of a final episode per se, it felt like another episode of Friends. Kudos to the people that put it together.

Spoilers ahead if you haven't watched it yet...

I was surprised that they didn't address Joey's leaving. I kept waiting for that to happen. I wander if he's going to take Chick Jr. and Duck Jr. with him.

I thought it would have been "neat" if Ross and Rachel moved into the house next to Chandler and Monica... it is on the market. It's probably just as well that they didn't do that though.

The best moment for me was when Ross whipped out the ole "on a break line"... I laughed and laughed and laughed.

The show ended appropriately I thought... the gang going down to Central Perk to get some brew. Very Seinfeldish in that the show ended as it began. The pan through the empty apartment really brought home that this was the end of an era. My wife cried, but I didn't. I was satisfied.

I'm not surprised they never mentioned it, but it is odd to think there's all this drama over Rachel leaving when it turns out it's going to be Joey who leaves and we won't get to see it (unless they're going to suprise us with a pre-taped segment with the Friends cast on the Joey show). It makes sense though that he'd leave - with the other guys coupled up or with babies, Joey is the odd man out.

I actually think they should've pretaped a whole bunch of stuff with the Friends cast before they left the show and scatter them throughout "Joey". He can just have a random phone conversation with one "Friend" each episode to kick off each episode wink (I'm sure NBC would've loved that).

YEEEEHAAAAAA!

Thank god it's over. I never really got into it, despite having seen a few episodes over the years.

My wife and her friend, on the other hand, were obcessed with the damn show. They even did the hand clap while they sang the theme song, which i don't care if i never hear again.

Geez. I don't doubt the show was good and fun for those that liked it, but damn, man. I thought the wife and friend were going to cry. And the damn commericals, the specials, the friggin dateline "countdown to Doomsday for NBC" show (well, it should have been called that, i thought they were all gonna commit suicide from depression or something)...it was just to much for me.

Being a dutiful husband, i watched it with the wife, but man, i have no feelings of loss, lol.

Enyway, sorry to be such a downer, but this is one place where i can let it all hang out. Thanks for letting me vent.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
