So I've been in India since August. Have there been any good movies since then? Anything you can recommend? And what about new TV Series? Is there anything that I should try to watch? Thanks for the help,

Juan

I don't know if it's playing up your way or not but the one new show that grabbed my interest this year is "Lost." There's a thread here discussing it, though it might spoil it for you. Some people survive a plane wreck on an island in the middle of the ocean, with little hope of rescue. A lot of wierd things are happening there. It airs in USA on the ABC network on Wednesdays at 8:00. The just reran the first two episodes this week and will show the next two next week.

Lost is the best. Desperate Housewives a close second. As for movies, I'm not sure. I don't usually get out to see them until they've reached the local pub/theatre.

In terms of tv, I'll agree that "Lost" is the one to watch. "Desperate Housewives" is also great.

In terms of movies, go see "The Incredibles"

I'll chime in on Lost and Desperate Housewives. Good stuff. Fortunately for you, you haven't missed much in terms of popular culture for the last few months. Vast wasteland....and you didn't really miss much Legion, either.

The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.

Don't judge me!

Desperate Housewives is on ABC at 9:00 PM, I think. Not sure when it's on in Canada or what station. It's a comedy/drama about a group of suburban housewives who deal with all sorts of everyday and not-so-everyday problems -- ranging from hyperactive children, to an unhappy marriage (and an affair), to a friend who committed suicide under unusual circumstances (setting up the central mystery of the show). It's intelligently written and usually pretty funny as well.

"The Incredibles" was one of the best movies of the year. I'm also looking forward to seeing "The House of Flying Daggers" when it opens in wide release.

Incredibles was definately one of the best this year. I also reccomend Ocean's 12 and Ladder 49--both great movies.

I'm not much for TV, but suddenly, I've been sucked into some great shows: Nip/Tuck, The OC, the Shield and the Apprentice (which is over).

And welcome back Juan smile !

Let me recommend a tv show for ya...
LOST is a new show on ABC, it's good drama on Wednesday, not getting much hype. wink

As for movies, you missed the Halloween crop.
SHAUN OF THE DEAD is one of the best zombie movies out there, and one of my favourites of the year. Funny and exciting at the same time.

Just spouting off.
