Did anyone see this special on Comedy Central?
It was hosted by Alan Cumming and his opening monologue was pretty funny.

It had some funny stuff, especially Buddy Cole from Kids in the Hall.

I tried to and saw parts of it.

But, we were having "Severe Weather" warnings at the time here in San Diego (don't laugh) and missed large chunks of it, because of the interuptions.

What little I saw was really good. It's my only experience with Alan outside his Nighty makeup.

It wasn't too bad. I enjoyed some parts more than others, but then that's to be expected. I really enjoyed Alan Cummings (he had more costume/hair changes, I swear!).

You haven't seen Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion??? Blasphemy!!! Awesome dance scene!!!

I've also seen him in Circle of Friends and Spy Kids 1 & 2. I never got around to seeing Josie and the Pussycats or Spice World. But Romy and Michelle's HS Reunion is MUST-SEE.

Alan Cumming did a good Russian accent in that James Bond movie "Goldeneye" (which also starred another X-Man, Famke Janssen aka Jean Grey)

I saw Circle of Friends, years ago. Didn't realize he was in it.

I second Ger. ROMY & MICHELLE is excellent.

He and Parker Posey were the saving graces of JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS.

Parker Posey can clearly sing. She's been perky, annoying, and superb in director/actor/writer Christopher Guest's "mockumentaries." Including the most recent one, from last year, that I saw on DVD last night, "A Mighty Wind." A thoroughly entertaining, hilarious, yet not at all nasty satire of the folk-music era. With some well-done music!

Posey is a lead vocal in the (fictional) "New Main Street Singers," brought together with other acts to pay tribute to a folk impresario's passing. Including (again fictional) "Mitch & Mickey," the hilarious Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. These last will perform a nominated song from the movie on the Oscarcast.

How's that for topic drift!

VERY nice, Grey!

Though I may "cut & paste" it to my PARKER POSEY fan thread floating around near the back of this forum. Parker deserves all the recognition she can get!

I have to admit I enjoyed Josie & the Pussycats, and Alan's and Parker's performances had a lot to do with it.

Romy & Michelle? Fabulous film, but not Alan Cumming's best moments. Same for Spice World. But if you really want to see Alan Cumming at his best see if you can track down 'The High Life'. It was a short lived sitcom about the crew of a Scottish airline with Alan as a trolley dolly and is just one of the funniest things ever. Very, *very* silly and cheap but by gods it's funny. The episode with Hazel the McWitch in it all about espionage and biscuit recipes is classic. You can get it on DVD from the BBC but I don't know if it ever surfaced in the US.
