I agree with you 100% Beagz. I don't believe they could come up with anything that would satisfy everyone.

I just had to point out that this thread has now had more posts than ST:Enterprise will have episodes.

Which is only fair, as this thread is more interesting.

Getting close to the end and I finally get another version of my ultimate episode, "Mirror, Mirror". Last night Star Trek: Enterprise aired part one of "In A Mirror, Darkly". Haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet but did watch the intro. Very cool use of a cannon movie character (but expected) and I loved the change to the intro. I hope the rest of the episode holds up.

I saw the ad -- granted, as a marketing ploy it worked on me. I plan to see it and I stopped watching the show. But still, I couldn't help but think that it was a desperate move. What happened to this show supposedly being different from the "same old same old" of the other shows? (it was the rehashing of plotlines and themes that turned me off the show a few seasons ago)

It was a pretty good episode so far. I also really liked that they reworked the opening to fit the mirror universe. At first I thought the captured earth ship was going to turn out to be Enterprise (Archer's) and that the Archer we were seeing was actually the real one playing the part of the mirrored one to get back to his ship. It tickled my nostalgia bone to see another dead red shirt though (oh yeah, the Tholian web was cool too)

When does the final episode air? Anyone know if there is truth to the "entire series was a Ricker & Troi playing on the holodeck program" rumor?

It airs on 5/13. Frakes and Sirtis are reprising their characters and the only hint the producers have given is that the episode does not involve time travel. That, to me, lends more credence to this being a holo-novel the two are reading.

But then, this is Star Trek.

I don't know what's in store for the finale, but did anyone read the recent TV Guide article about it? The cast were, with the exception of Scott Bakula, refreshingly honest about how upset they were that their last ep was bringing in TNG characters. I don't blame them, and good for them for letting a little dirty laundry air out.

ok i'm at a total lost, why are the events involving Riker and Troi in this episode seems to take place on Enterprise D? i know it's on the holo-deck but is this one of those untold stories before the events that happened in ST:Generations?

Last night being the last episode of Enterprise I thought I would comment on how it totally sucked. Yeppers... it sucked. And for so many reasons.
1. Riker and Troi. What the heck. Why have them on at all? It made no sense and for Riker to use the holodeck to figure out his own problem and if he was gonna tell about his big secret. Who cared.
2. STTNG Enterprise...??? Hello destroyed. Why not at least used the current Picard Enterprise.
3. Data on the comm...Hello dead.
4. I really could not figure what year we were suppose to believe this was happening in with Riker.
5. Trip killed. What the heck. I really can not understand this at all. Trip was one of the best on the show. To give him this pointless death that was far from heroic. No reunion for him.
Overall the only good thing about the last episode was the sign off with the three era ships. I just can not believe they ended the series with that load of crap. I am a huge fan of Star Trek but last nights send off really ticked me off. What an injustice to the characters of Enterprise and it's fans.
Looking for Earth Prime.

It's meant to be set during a specific Next Gen ep. I forget which one.

Riker looked like SUCH a dork running around like a crewman who seemed to be carrying a load in his pants. I was a bit confused at first, but *I think* what we were seeing was a "never before seen" backstory to a STNG episode, I can't remember which one but it's one where Riker's issues get resolved, so this was telling us how he came to resolve those issues. It also explained why Riker and Troi weren't married (I believe they are now, yes?) so basically the Riker era being told wasn't at the end of the STNG series, but somewhere in the middle, yes? I thought it was a bad episode, hurriedly put together, but at least I'm grateful that they didn't totally negate the Archer series by making believe it had all been a holodeck novel (a la the Dream fiasco on Dallas). Everything that we experienced with this go round of ST did occur. The finale was just a rehasing of how things ended.

Pegasus and you find out how the Pegasus was lost when they tried to use an experimental Clock/phase device. and Ryker was sworn to secretcy about the incident. but still the episode sucked and Enterprise went out with a whimper how very sad!

The only good thing about the Riker/ Troi stuff was that it gave Trip's death a greater meaning since it was being used as a parable for Riker in his state of moral confusion. Other than that, it was a needless distraction. Aside from the fact that it took away from the main characters, it was confusing for viewers to have to remember the specific TNG episode they were referencing. ("The Pegasus" with Terry O'Quinn (Locke from "Lost") as Riker's former commander) The other little nods would've been just fine (the "to the next generation" toast, Malcolm saying "All good things...", the title of the last TNG ep I believe. There might've been others I missed). This gimmick was way too intrusive. Setting this six years ahead of the rest of the series just made this last episode seem more like an epilogue than a finale (I guess there are "untold tales" now...). The previous two-parter was the "real ending" - this was more a "what happened to..." tale just to tie things up and give us the formation of the Federation. And am I the only one a tad insulted for Janeway and Sisko who were left out of the end sequence? (no respect at all...) Actually, the most out of place part of the ep for me was Troi saying Reg would be furious if she were late -- Reg? Furious?? Yeah, right ...
