It looks like that Cham´s it´s the child of one of the UP delegates. I wonder what that means for RJ Brande...

Maybe the delegate IS Brande. I just have to wonder which "half" of the delegates are Legion parents. I don't see anyone resembling anyone we've met so far except the Durlan rep and there's no guarantee that he/she is actually Chameleon's parent. Remember who the writer is. laugh Mark's been able to surprise me a few times.

Anybody else see the issue of JLA: Year One the one of the Legion kids is holding?

Now we know that the SPs and UP are separate and that the SPs are the older, more established organization. I wonder how that works, that you have a planet-spanning police force that doesn't answer to any government... or are they a government unto themselves? All the SPs so far have been humanoid - maybe it's an Earth military group that just took on the role of keepers of the peace in a time of upheaval - a time which also would have led to the fearful and restrictive society.

It's great to see Art Thibert on the Legion again. I loved his work with Shoemaker, and Jurgens never looked as good as when Thibert worked with him.

Although... this is a "Spoiler" thread, isn't it?

That looks like White Witch on the background of page 3. I really would like to see her again, in a manner closer to preboot than to postZH Legion, although I guess she doesn't fit the name rules.

The cover blurb makes me wince, but I tend to always dislike cover blurbs. I dunno, they just always sound so hokey. This one stuck out especially though. I again find myself wondering specifically whose job it is to write those, since Gail Simone said she didn't have responsibility for the blurbs on her books. Hm. I guess it's not a particularly big deal, though.

The UP being so supportive of the Legion seems strange, given the tone of earlier books and the feeling that "all" adults are against them. I prefer it this way, though.

Livin' Fast, huh? Is that anything like Thinkin' Fast?

Perhaps the S.P.s are a mercenary law enforcement outfit like L.E.G.I.O.N., but comprised exclusively of Earthlings.

Must Waid continue to hammer us over the head with the adults vs. kids premise each and every issue? We got it already. I'd rather we see the Legionnaires DO something radical, than be told they are radical.

Shifting scenes to Rimworld (I presume), it looks like whomever Lightning Lad is trying to help is giving him a real hard time. I imagine he looked every bit as displeased when he said "Eat it, grandpa". I look forward to seeing more of him.

Thanks for the heads-up, Lobo Gris!

Which legionnaires have UP delegates parents?
In my opinion:
Shady.
Jecki.
Jan.
Gim.

Eh? If anything, it seemed that the generation conflict is SOFTENED here. We also see that there's one particular institution -- the SP -- that's chiefly fostering the conflict. You want to see the LSH be "radical?" Reread every issue. They're radical just by EXISTING, because they exist outside the SP's heretofore-firmly-defined sphere of influence.

Where did that Garth splash page come from? It wasn't there yesterday when I saved out the pages, only the first three plus the cover were there.

And where can I buy the original? laugh

Isn't that Lyle's dad saying half of them have kids in the Legion? A little pot/kettle action?

I think you guys misunderstood. The SP guy isn't saying that half the UP delegates have children who are in the CORE Legion group, he means that half of them have kids who are amongst those thousands who consider themselves part of the greater "Legionnaire movement."

Actually when I re-read it I saw I was way off, "...half the kids on the team have parents in this room." isn't the same statement as, "Half the parents in this room have kids on the team."

My bad.

I got to read the issue today. Another great story. The book just keeps getting better. This issue showcases Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl the most. We get to see who the mystery character Brainy sent is. A very nice surprise imo. We also get to see more of the person (behind the threat to the galaxy) from Dream Girl's vision.

Another weird roll call page piece of info...Lightning Lad's home world is listed as Trom. An error or a change?

Not sure how much more info I should give. Don't want to ruin everything.

Trom?!? Uh. Oh. Not sure I like that. Maybe some of these are wrong for a reason.

And Hamz, please PM me who the mystery character is, pretty please. *bats eyes*

Trom??? Sounds interesting.

I liked the preview. By now you all know I hate the entire underagers thing so i won't get into yet again. wink

Garth! Yes! I am very interested in what his origin will be. Glad to have Barry back. He's the best part of the book. Can't wait to see who the mystery character was.

Just a thought...

the roll call page may be a representation of the SP dossier on the Legion and therefore may have some inaccuracies. That would explain the listings of homeplanets we've seen for Gim and now Garth.

Waid did mention some members were going to be from different planets. As someone suggested earlier Gim may have been born on Earth but his parents may not.

Garth? Well I am hoping he is still related to Ayla. Waid had to explain why they had different powers. I think both Garth and Ayla certainly need new origins. smile

If this is NOT a typo, I'm going to be sick to my stomach.
