I kind of like Mekt has orange hair in the WaK version now. He originally had the white hair cause he was introduced as an old man. Man am I glad he doesn't have that Christmasy costume any more.

Very interesting interpretation, Cobie. It shows that the Legionnaires' relationships evolved over time, just as they would in real life. I find this fascinating, too.

And might I add that Cobie's series of threads, which he references in a previous post here, were wonderfully well thought out and very insightful.

Someone (hint, hint) should dig them out and bump them for newer Legion Worlders to enjoy.

It would be nice to see some tension between Brainy & Shady after so many years. Not a real love triangle but just tension.

With Kara and Mon-El dead? I'm suprised they didn't.

We ever see any members of the Taurus Gang again? Not sure if I like them as a team but as individuals they have potential especially Quanto.

I just read the first part of the Wanderers story. They really were mysterious weren't they? Do we see them again before GDS?

was a reoccurring villain. He fought Timber Wolf in SUPERBOY #213, December 1975. And chronologically before his first appearance in ADVENTURE COMICS #374, November 1968; Black Mace battled Karate Kid, Ferro Lad, and Princess Projectra in a flashback tale told in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #31, February 1987.

appeared in an issue of LEGIONNAIRES #4, July 1993 as a souvenir of Leland McCauley.

The Wanderers appear at Bouncing Boy and Duo Damsel's wedding in SUPERBOY #200, January 1974.

appears in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #59, April 1989; which is another flashback tale.

Also, I forgot that Black Mace was controlled by the Dominators in LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #40, February 1993.

I once had that same question on the Taurus Gang before. Of course, Nighty helped me there too!

Well I did like Black Mace lots too. I forgot he appeared in 1987.

I always saw Black Mace as kind of a poor man's Persuader.

ADV 374 is my favorite of the post-Swan ADV stories. Loved that it intro'd new villains (I was especially fascinated by Mystelor) and used such an odd, never-before-used combo of Legionnaires (SuperGIRL, Ultra Boy, Deam Girl, Element Lad and Matter-Eater Lad). I also grooved to how they spent much of the issue out-of-costume.

A story of Persuader killing Black Mace would be nice. A deal gone bad or something. It would be a good fight atleast.

Hey, Lash I always liked this story too (it's in Adv 374 btw). I always thought the author of that story must've been trying to feature some of the underused Legionnaires for once. After all, we hardly EVER saw Dream Girl, Supergirl, or Matter Eater Lad and Element Lad wasn't exactly over exposed either. Ultra Boy was probably thrown in because he'd just been elected leader by the fans.

Black Mace was my least favorite of the 5 villains and he was the only one we ever really saw again except for a couple of cameos as I recall. BTW, what's Rogarth supposed to be doing in his gremlin?

How about pounding Supergirl's face, as he spent much of that issue doing? Hee. Another kewl thing about that issue, Kara faught HARD!

Re: The Taurus Gang. Lash, I also thought Mystelor was pretty cool. These guys were odd but stood out for some reason.

Quick question about Brainiac 5. Do we ever learn if his parents are alive? I know postZH there is a big mess with his mom, etc. But how about before the reboots?

His parents are officially dead, according to the "Five Legion Orphans" story.

Pulsar Stargrave claims to be his longlost father when he first appears, however.

B5 said that Pulsar Stargrave looked like his father (presumably he adjusted for the disco look).

There was also a scene in SLSH #256 (the legionnaires are trying to cure Brainy's insanity) in which we see a flashback/memory of his parents and, in particular, his demanding father.
