Remember, guys, by the end of the regular season, you'll be able to drop your worst score as you "bye" week, so Drake and thor are still in the running if they wanna jump back in. I'm considering adding a second "bye" week, as well to accomodate the rule change. Whaddaya think?

Speaking of the rule change, now that we have a week under our belt, to you wanna keep it exactly as is? Personally, I like the element of danger (of which I was a victim this week!) the LP brings, but I certainly am open to suggestions. It certainly affects the final outcome significantly, though. Let me know!

On the other hand, the Upset Special revision bore fruit for those of us who picked Arizona--two points for beating the spread. No actual outright upsets for the three points still, though.

I like the way it ran this week Lardy. Of course I benefited from the LP so I may not like it when it eventually bites me in the nass.

I say run Week 4 the same.

Glad ya like it LL! The way I see it, putting the LP in there not only adds that element of danger, but actually helps further demonstrate the proficiency of those playing. I'm sure that I (and Jorge and Nova) will think REAL hard about our LP pick next week! laugh

NFL WEEK FOUR

The Matchups (pick a winner each game)

*Oakland at Miami (-4)
Houston at Atlanta
*Baltimore (-4.5) at Cleveland
Chicago at Detroit
Green Bay at Minnesota
*N.Y. Jets (-3.5) at Buffalo
Tampa Bay at Carolina
Seattle at San Francisco
*Pittsburgh (-6) at Arizona
*Philadelphia (-3) at N.Y. Giants
*New England (-7) at Cincinnati

Upset Special (pick one only)

(Note: Still Two points for beating the spread, Three if the dog wins.)

St. Louis over Dallas (-12.5)
Kansas City over San Diego (-11.5)
Denver over Indianapolis (-9.5)

Tie Breaker (total points scored in game)

Miami and Oakland

*All these games (with asterisks next to them) are candidates for: The Lead Pipe Lock! Whichever game you choose out of these will be worth more points than all the regular picks. Choose the favorite, and that favorite must win AND cover the spread. Choose the dog, and the dog can either win OR beat the spread!

Note: all spreads culled from current day's morning paper. If lines change afterward, the ones posted here are the ones that count.

If you're right, you will be awarded 4 points! If you're wrong, you will be deducted 4 points from your total!

To choose your Lead Pipe lock, simply place (LP) in parentheses next to the appropriate line.

Bonus Point (pick one)

Which among these league leaders in QB passing yardage will have the most yards in Week 4?

Jon Kitna, Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Brett Favre?

It's not too late to join in, everybody--we'll drop the two lowest scores, so missing the first two weeks didn't hurt! That goes for you, too, DrakeB3004 & Thor2168!!!

Lardy, if I don't make my picks by Friday, hell at me in the shout box! Caught for time traveling in the mid-west until at least Friday afternoon, and then a busy wedding weekend (not mine!).

PS - Green Bay will beat Minnesota! laugh

Random side notes: This week was definitely the hardest (and not just because I'm slightly unsober at the moment). A lot of the ones I usually pick to win are playing each other and a lot of teams I don't give two shakes about (or even know a thing about) are also playing each other. Made the choices very difficult.

Oh, and in case I never said anything-- my brother works for the Bills. And I always bet on them to lose. smile Ah family. Gotta love it.

Nova...I'm assuming your LP refers to Pittsburgh? If not, you'll need to clarify before that game begins!
