Jorg, both Kill Bill soundtracks kick total ass. I've had them in my car on steady rotation for about a year now.

at the moment i'm listening to all my David Morales dance remixes, and loading them onto my iPod !!

i have over 60 remixes by him, of many artists from the late 80's early 90's !!

and i'm currently bidding for some on ebay, and trying to get the cd versions of them from music websites, as many of the ones io have are on 12" records !!

Matthew.

Now as to my collection, thats another thing, lol.

Hmmm, need to find my Nina Simone stuff.

The Storms eponymous album.

I always wanted to do my own album and call it Eponymous.

REM's "best of" collection covering their early years on the IRS label was called "Eponymous." Sorry!

Right now:

Car - "Cold Mountain" audiobook.

Home - "Eat A Peach" The Allman Brothers Band.

The Brain Surgeons' debut album back in 1992 was called EPONYMOUS. (This is Albert Bouchard's band-- the guy who was drummer for Blue Oyster Cult from their beginning up to 1982, and wrote or co-wrotre much of their earliest, WEIRDEST stuff!)

Maroon 5

Songs About Jane.

Superb album - the vocalist Adam Levine reminds me of Paul Rogers, and there are touches of Stevie Wonderesque playing on the keyboard.

In my car I've got a mixed 80s/90s MP3 CD. At the office I've got the new Audioslave. Just wish I could get some peace and quiet to listen to it. mad

Nice article. And they hit the nail on the head with that quote from Rick Rubin... That first album, as much as I loved it, did feel like a "studio" album. These guys are their own band this time around, and it really comes across on this record.

Asia -- ASIA (5 stars / one of those rare "PERFECT" albums)

Asia -- ALPHA (also 5 stars / ditto)

Asia -- ASTRA (3 stars / I just ran off a "corrected" version of the CD-- some IDIOT at Geffen Special Products had put the end of side 1, "Rock And Roll Dream" as track 9 instead of 5-- thing like that can screw a whole album up! This one, I've always loved all of side 1, but mostly "tolerated" side 2, and now I can skip the entire 2nd half much easier if I want to.)

The Bonzo Dog Band - Cornology - Disc 1. ("The Intro and The Outro" alone is worth the price of admission)

The Soundtrack of Our Lives - Origin, Vol. 1. It rocks.

A compilation of southern soul tunes. "Dark End of the Street" gets me every time.

Today it's the new Mercury Rev CD. Tends to get lost in the production sometimes, but there are some really nice psych-pop tunes here.

Coldplay are getting some serious promotion here right now. Lots of TV time for the video and a VH1 Storytellers thing tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if this sells big in the States.

As for me, I'm gonna put on some Sun Ra and kick back.

Just picked up the new Garbage cd, Bleed Like Me.

Nice, but not as good as their first two albums. They changed their style subtly for the last two in a way I can't quite identify, but isn't as good, IMO. Still has a few excellent songs, though.

I have an enhanced cd rant for later. =P
