Right now? Here's what's in my car's CD player (since my actual CD player is hooked up to all the music I've pirated!):
"Are you Experienced?": Best of Jimmy Hendrix
The Best of the Doors, Disc 1.
"Swagger" Flogging Molley
"Drunken Lollibies" Flogging Molley
"Nirvana Unplugged" Nirvana
"Crash" Dave Matthews Band
"III" Led Zepellin
I try to do a new rotation of CD's every three to four weeks to keep myself in a good driving mood, and these are all CD's that I've come to love over the years.
I also have three mixed CD's in there with various songs.

I've got a mix CD I made to try out the factory-issue stereo when I picked up my new car last week. It works well enough for my purposes.
It's become my tradition to try out every new sound system I get with the opening of Danny Elfman's "Batman" score.
After that, I did a mix of favorite songs that includes:
"Meadowlark" (I forget who sings this one -- I have five or six versions of it)
"Walking on Sunshine" Katrina and the Waves
"Love Tropicana" (the theme song to the anime "Hale Nachi Guu" (spelled wrong, I'm sure) that has the power to make me start dancing whenever I hear it)
The Proclaimers' "Walk 500 Miles" song -- I forget the actual title
"I Can Hear the Bells" from "Hairspray"
"The Rose" Bette Midler
"Hazy Shade of Winter" the Bangles
"Take on Me" A-Ha
"Somewhere" Barbra Streisand
"Flash Gordon" theme, Queen
"Tank" and "Cats on Mars" from the anime "Cowboy Bebop"
"On My Own" from "Les Miz" -- my theme song before I met my hubby
"River of Dreams" Billy Joel
"La La La La Lemon" a "Sesame Street" song done by Barenaked Ladies
"The Hoppity Song" I forget who did this, someone from They Might Be Giants, I think. It and "Lemon" are from a great kids' CD called "For the Kids"
"Take a Chance on Me" Abba
"O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," which sounds really regal but is really just an old Latin drinking song
I also have a CD I made to help me practice my few lines in "South Pacific," which opens in just a couple weeks. Eek!
Other than that, I mostly listen to NPR in the car so don't carry around a lot of CDs anyway. At home, I most recently listened to the recording of the new Broadway "Wonderful Town" with Donna Murphy -- a great CD.

I just really enjoy that one song on the "For the Kids" CD. Has it appeared elsewhere?

[profh0011] { Bay City Rollers: ROLLIN' (1974) }
Is that the one with "I Only Want to Be With You"? (They sang that first, didn't they?)
Oh, gawd, does THAT take me back. To Lois and a starry night. But we won't get into that *sigh*

CD????????? What's that? You mean it's meant to play music? Here I thought that CD thingie in my car was a depository for monetary contributions to my retirement account. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take my bills when I tried to insert them!

My first thought is that it's a cover of Dusty Springfield's big 1963 hit. But I'm not certain.

Every track is great. Yay, me too! I want to go see her in concert cause I heard her live shows rawk. Also, I'm part Portuguese but I know very little about the culture. I feel like when I listen to Nelly I'm gettin' some culture by proxy

The Pet Sounds Sessions by the Beach Boys. An entire boxed set dedicated to the making of one of the best albums ever - a true stereo mix, studio session outtakes with the Wrecking Crew (the session musicians who played the instrumentals), stereo instrumental tracks, vocals-only tracks, alternate vocal takes.
I also have a book-on-cd for the commute, "The Glorious Cause" by Jeff Shaara. He's the author of "Gods and Generals," and this is basically the same formula applied to the American Revolution.

"Trying to Forget" by The Be Five - a collection of songs sung by former Babylon 5 cast members...you'd think it'd be hokey, but the disc seriously rocks! Lots of blues, a few ballads, and a couple of totally kickin' rock songs. I can't stop playing the fragging thing!

"The Grey Album" by DJ Dangermouse (remixing Jay-Z and the Beatles) and "London Booted", a collection of remixed Clash songs. Awesome stuff! Download them all over the place...

After all this time, besides all of the Evanescence songs I've gotten from various sources, the CD I listen to the most in the car (the only place I listen to them anymore) is the Daredevil Soundtrack. I swear if the movie was half as good as the album it would have blown Spider-Man out of the water.
I also have the most recent 2 CD greatest hits set from Heart and Music from the Succubus Club -- Vampire: The Masquerade. Some pretty good vamp songs on the latter.

Today it's "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel.
I may pull out some Django Reinhardt a little later.

Current new selection:
"Master of Puppets" by Metallica (their best album IMO, as a life long Metallica fan)
"Four" by Led Zeppelin
"Evil Empire" by Rage Against the Machine
"Check Ya Head" by Beastie Boys
A mixed CD featuring a lot of the theme songs from Kill Bill and some other stuff
And Dave Matthews Band "Crash" is still in there
