When you get him properly plumped up, I recommend a dry rub and throw some mesquite on the coals.

But then you brought it back... so all is forgiven. No hell time for you. Well on this account, you may deserve it for something else, but I'm not here to judge. smile

The boy is almost three weeks old... some observations from a new/first time parent.

I figure you need three grown adults to tend to a newborn and keep everyone relaxed, rested, and happy. One to tend to the baby, one to tend to the household maintenance chores, and one to rest. And that's for just one baby. My wife stays with Aden through the week and I take him on Friday and Saturday nights so she can sleep. She's great.

I don't know how my dad did it. Honestly he was 22 when I was born and I was his third child. He was left to raise us alone and I don't know how he did it. Hats off to Pops.

I now understand the phrase, "slept like a baby". I never realized that a baby sleeps so much... pert near 18 hours a day. Of course its all broken up, but still.

Two weeks old and he's gained two pounds and grown an inch. I can't tell.

Similac formula is great... Enfamil really makes the baby smell.

Huggies over pampers.

He seems to like music. We play Beethoven and other classics for him. They say that's supposed to make him smarter. When my wife isn't in hearing distance I play some Ray Stevens and Weird Al for him. I don't want him to be smarter than me.

That's it for now.

Isn't the playing of classical music supposed to be when he is in utero?

We tried that (the classical music in utero and such)... don't know if it worked though so we thought we'd keep on keeping on.

The only song he responded to consistently in utero was "Get A Rhythm" by Johnny Cash. That one always seemed to get him kicking.

Don't know what kind of impact that will have on the boy's smarts, but maybe he'll be a better dancer... or drummer. Of course if he gets a drum set I'm going to have to kick him out of the house. That's just how it will have to be.
