I love how Gretchen does that. I've started doing it just for fun.
"I guess I'd better go to work now."
"I hope the car still works so I can get to work."
"Oh, I got a bad car."
Last episode was my favorite solely because Rob and Amber failed. They'll still probably win, but it was nice to see them so utterly fail in playing the game.

Good show. Rob and Amber kicked ass again. Ron and Kelley are moving further apart. G&M are gone. They did a great job on the race. Can't wait for the season finale next week!

oh i hope that Rob and Amber will not win the finale! isn't one-million dollars (and more) enough for them? Will they pursue the next game show - Fear Factor?

I hope R&A come in third! I doubt it'll happen, but I can wish. It'd be cool if someone *wouldn't* help them because they recognized them, for a change. R&A really have had an unfair advantage.
I'd like them, maybe, if they did a 'reality show veteran' Race in which *everyone* had some recognizability working for them. (or not)
I'm all for Uchenna and Joyce. Because they seemed to appreciate the things they saw and the places they visited more than any of the teams that are left.
If soldier boy Ron could win on his own, I might be for him. He sounds just like people I've been around all my life-- he's got that millstone/beauty queen around his neck, though.

I really really hope it's not Rob and Amber winning another 1-million dollars.

I now officially believe in God and the power of prayer. Rob and Amber LOST the AR to the black couple that I wanted to win. I loved the rousing reception they got compared to the tepid applause for R&A. Thank God U&J managed to get on that plane. (I wonder if the producers of the show actually convinced the pilot to wait for them -otherwise the race would have been over at that point).

What was really great was the U & J won while totally respecting themselves, each other and everyone around them, including the ass of a cab driver who was insiting on more money. Had that been Romber they would have said see ya later and raced to the finish line! Regardless of what you feel for Romber, it is kind of nice to see that there is genuine affection there between the two of them.

I don't hate Rob and Amber, I just think it's unfortunate that they went through this entire experience basically not making any relationships and basically not giving a shit for anyone except themself. I have to wonder if they live their lives that way.
LOVED U and J throughout the whole race. I was genuinely thankful for their win. That cabbie was something else, wasn't he? The thing that sucks for him is that if he and just let U and J off with an IOU, you know that he would have been getting a check for 5 or 10 grand later on. They're just those kind of people. Sucks for him! Karmic retribution, baby!
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

I stil like Romber. You either hate them or you like them. They got some bad luck on the cabbie. While I am happy U & J won and this help heal their relationship, could they have done a worse job in the begging department. I mean come on, coudn't they say they are on the amazing race and that they got stripped of all their money and stuff.
Another great season, can't wait for the next one.

I'm very happy Uchenna and Joyce won. And I wondered the same thing about them getting on the plane as Man from Cargg. Oh well, they had to keep the race interesting.
Rob and Amber played the game like pros, which is why I'm happy they didn't make first place.
Seeing them win nearly every time didn't make this one of the best seasons for me. However a DVD compilation of Gretchen's narrating would make up for it.

U & J's win certainly makes up for the fact they didn't win any prizes for the 2 legs of the race where they came first.
Talk about a classy, decent couple. This also makes up for the fact that the other decent couple, Kris & John from the last season didn't win. I was so bummed about their runner up status, but Uchenna & Joyce's win was by far the most emotional one for me and restores my faith that good things can happen to good people. I was shocked to hear Uchenna make it sound like their marriage had real communication problems. They were the most well adjusted couple on the race. -Just goes to show you never know what happens behind closed doors.
U & J will go down as the most memorable winners of the Race for me and my wife. She can't even remember who won last season.
Does anyone know if and when the next Race will begin?

-Can you tell I'm still fixated?
Why couldn't U & J just have told the cabbie to wait right here like every other cabbie for other stops and race to the finish line?

Hey Owl Lad,
Next season will start in the fall. It will be the family edition-4 people teams.

For those who missed the early seasons of The Amazing Race (I joined in on the fun somewhere along the line in season 5), GSN, The Game Show Network is now showing reruns. I believe they are on at 9 p.m. and rerun at midnight.
They have shown the first two eppies of season one so far this week and its pretty fun to see how far the show has come along since the beginning. The early racers are nicely naive to the adventure that I am sure is ahead of them, althought the narrative is a little bit cruder than in later seasons.
Ooh that Lemnos! He makes me so angry, so, so, what was I saying? Oh well, must not have been very important.

I believe for the first two seasons Phil was always dressed in a turtleneck, pretty funny.

I'll keep an eye out for the ever-present turtlenecks BWB. I've noticed that so far in the first season Phil only greets the last team to arrive. Also, his Kiwi accent is much more pronounced. In the first episode he kept saying something like "trafelkluhs" and it took me a couple of minutes to realize that he was saying "travel clues." Of course, I'm not the brightest I haven't seen a start date for the next season yet but I am kinda wobbly about the twist with families of 4 with two kids per team.

So we are about two-thirds of the way through the latest race...and my wife and I are both rooting for the cowboys! The lesbians are too snippy, and I hope they leave soon. I can take or leave the other teams, though.
Last night's episode seemed to lack any real suspense, since most of the tasks were pretty easy. I was really impressed by how the cowboys went from last to first, even though they had a speed bump thrown in.

Anybody watching the latest season? I was really surprised at the team that got eliminated first - I had them pegged to last a lot longer.
I was cracking up when Phil asked the tattoed lady if she knew what country she was in and she replied, "Uh...London?"
I still love this show!

Apparently, it is very easy to get lost in England. Several of the teams got really lost!
Lookin' forward to this week's episode...
