BTW, not directly DWS2-related, but I don't want to search out the older thread Apparently, some Eighth Doctor (McGann) audio plays are going to be broadcast on BBC [Radio] 7 (digital only) on Saturdays starting tomorrow. Here's the schedule: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/news/cult/news/drwho/2005/08/02/20879.shtml and they'll each be available here for a week after broadcast.

Kind of completes a circle in a way, considering the show's producers tried to coax one of those characters (not the one pictured) into returning numerous times during the original run.

i think it's !! i loved K-9 as a kid !! i remember having one, with a motor that when the wheels were moved back, he moved along on his own !! as i got older i seem to remember the reason K-9 was removed was because the producers felt he defeated the ememy to easily !!?? is that correct ?? anyone else remember that ?? i like the look of that image of a 'beat up' version of the character, kinda how we saw the DALAK for the first time again !! perhaps the character will only feature in a couple of episodes before being put back in 'moth balls' !!?? Matthew.

At first I thought you guys were talking about this (you'll have to scroll down to see what I'm referring to). But this is worse. But if he is confirmed for only one episode I can live with it.

And I'm not looking forward to K9 either at least.

K9 I can do without but I have to admit Sarah Jane was my first real big TV crush. I am looking forward to this.

Anthony Head has been confirmed by the Beeb as being in the second series apparently. They haven't, however, said what role he is to play or how long he's going to be around. BTW, has anyone heard whether Captain Jack is going to be back at all for the second series? I hope so because he's a great character and just too hot for his own good. Yummy.

Some ( see LitG ) have taken the latter half of the title and... well... Originally posted by Bevis: BTW, has anyone heard whether Captain Jack is going to be back at all for the second series? She was the first companion I ever saw, so she sort of defined the role for me for a long time. And to think they considered killing her off....

I thought, like Niles the butler, in the "Nanny", his accent was laid on with a trowel.

And Anthony Head (or Anthony Stewart Head as we've always known him in the U.S.) is from Camden, England. As far as I know his accent is genuine unlike Daniel Davis who portrayed Niles on the Nanny. He was born in Arkansas.

Antony Head's accent in Buffy is actually quite fake. He's British but the posh accent he uses is not his natural one. In fact James Marsters said in an interview that Head's accent was as fake as Marster's accent when playing Spike. I think Head uses his real accent in Little Britain if you ever see that (but I might be wrong).

Ok, here's probably a silly question. Where can one in the US view episodes of the Doctor. I grew up with it on PBS late Sunday nights. Loved it of course, but the funding stopped or some sort and have not seen it in years. How can I get the Doctor to make a house call to my home???? And I loved Tegan from the series. If my wife and I ever have a daughter, we will name her that at my request...

Thanks for jogging my memory on the Spike accent misnomer, Bevis...I remember reading his biog on the Internet Movie Database which states James as being anything but British...he is a Californian!

Right now you'd have to wait for the DVD release (assuming they do a region 1 release) or acquire it by other, more shady, means. The BBC has yet to find a network willing to broadcast it in the U.S.

Thanks Scott. Figures. Unfortunately as I get older, the only shady things I know are the marks left in my underwear...

Billie Piper made it official that she would leave the show with Series 3. The BBC have apparently already started a search for her replacement. Sci-Fi Wire story . Also, a pic of the new Cybermen has been released here .

I know this is a late reply, but I just stumbled across this thread. I'm just catching up with the Eccleston episodes (waiting on volume 4 right now) and eBay is your friend. I bought a code-free DVD player solely so I could watch the Region 2 DVDs, and it was worth every penny.
