I really thought the comment about "he wasn't good (nice?)" will tell later.
I actually could not stop thinking about this episode. They did a great job of portraying the dread and horror of the attacks, the paranoia of knowing they'd been infiltrated, etc. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it, couldn't go back to sleep for a while. My DVR cut out on the last five minutes--I didn't see anything past when they captured Jin. Can someone tell me what happened?

I'm not currently tuned into Season 2 - so could anybody clue me in on what the Mira Furlan character was doing on that island - besides causing trouble?

random thoughts: -- This show really is like watching a dramatization of "Survivor" -- there are two tribes, there were several challenges and eliminations, backstabbing and alliances and now we get to the part where the two tribes are merging... -- That stewardess was the one who doomed Nathan, imo -- I guess she really wasn't so good with facess after all. She was wrong about Nathan and didn't mention that she hadn't seen Goodwin either (or she thought she saw him. Either way, she screwed up). -- During the scene with the crash, there was quite the butt-crack shot with Ana Lucia in the water -- Interesting that the Dharma logo in the bunker was different than the others we've seen (this one had an arrow instead of a swan) -- a glass eye?? -- Ana Lucia was wrong about Nathan, now she shoots Shannon. After this, I'd find it hard to believe the rest of the Tailies would have any faith in her judgement.

Think about this too...there are quite a few "Others". Since Echo took out 2 the first night, and Anna took out another during the other raid when they dragged 9 people off.
that's 12 right there, plus 2 more for Goodwin and Ethan.
At least 14 that we can safely account for.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

Even though we don't know them very well, I cried when Rose and Bernard got back together.
I'm glad we got to see Ana's backstory (I thought that was a rather pregnant pause (pun intended) when someone asked her if she had kids two eps ago). She's got a lot of anger and for while it seemed as though she might actually be an antagonist for the survivors running around in the jungle (speaking of crazy women with a gun in the jungle I wonder where that french chick is? Cavorting with Desmond?).
When he was with Shannon, it's easy to forget Sayid's past, but he might be entering a dark place now that she's been killed.
Ekko was staring at those guns a looooong time. Makes me wonder about his backstory - had he witnessed some genocide in his time (and was he victim or perpetrator?)?
That last frame was interesting. Such a buildup to Ana and Jack meeting up again. Why were they framed as equal and opposite? Are they reflections of each other, yin and yang, different sides of the same coin or will they be diametric opposites? Or will they just get it on? I might be reading too much into it, but it'll be interesting to see how the Tailies add to the mix (not that there aren't enough cast members, but I wouldn't mind knowing a few more of the original survivors - to just know their names if not their backstories).

Wow, Ana has certainly gotten use to drawing a gun. Okay so now I know why she's such a hardcase. She's the first survivor whose backstory lowers my opinion. I just don't like her. The showdown with Sayid got me thinking tho'...
I was hoping to see more of the reunions for the married couples. I guess happiness doesn't make for good drama.
But Echo (Ekko) is really getting my interest. He and Locke had a bit of a moment; any chance I can see Echo rip Locke's heart out?
Just spouting off.

Wow. Reading that theory made my day. Though I wonder how "using the computer to communicate off the island" fits into it, now... Still, that was the best theory as to what's actually happening on Lost that I've seen yet, I think...
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

I just realized there's like 37 pages to that thread, and each page has little more nuggets of gold from the idea guy (Andrew Smith). It's really hard to work with this minimized!

That is some serious research work there. I like the idea too.
As for the recent Kate episode, intense as always. But enough of her. I get that she has some bad history. And yes, she is a beautiful woman. And Miss Lily can act too. But she's in serious danger of overexposure.
Just spouting off.

Tonight was a repeat, part 2 of Hurley's backstory.
Seeing this reminds me how little has been done with some of the interesting characters on this show. Sun has a mobster father!
I'm just getting a bit tired of Jack and Kate and Sawyer and Locke.
Just spouting off.

Um, speaking of Kate, what were the revelations about her in the last (new) episode? I was short on time that night and decided LSH #12 was more important.

she blew up the house with her step father in it. Hwr mother turned her in, because had stopped by the diner where her mother worked and basically hinted at what she did.

She killed a man (blew up the house he was in) who she grew up originally thinking was her stepfather, but who she later found out was really her biological father. I'm not 100% sure what her motivation was. She denied to the Marshall who eventually died on the island that the man had never harmed her or her physically, but it could have been a bluff. The marshall had actually caught her and was driving with her in a car but they got in an accident and she got away after kicking the guy into unconciousness. It was sort of odd. That may not be the worlds best summary but that's the gist of it. Em, she saw a horse on the island just like one she saw after getting out of the marshall's wrecked up car, but then Sawyer also saw it so it apparently wasn't an island "vision."

Arachne, some thoughts:
- She had recently just found out the the man whom her mother had been with for years was actually her biological father. Her whole life, she thought her father was a very good man, although her parents had been seperated. When she killed her biological father, she went to her mother, who obviously was going to turn her in, and then went to the man who she had always thought was her father. He gave her a head-start (he had always known but said--"I knew you'd kill him if you found out").
- Her biological father (who she killed) was obviously abusing her mother pretty bad. In the opening scenes, he makes a drunken pass at Kate, grabbing her arm and telling her she's pretty. She later tells the detective he never touched her. Personally, I think this isn't the truth and she's still in shock/denial and is traumatized, and had been abused (most likely sexually) by the man before. It could go either way though, and we'll know in future episodes if he really had or hadn't.

Kate's certainly got daddy issues. She mentions that Sawyer makes her sick because he reminds her of her trailer trash "stepdad"/biological father. But of course she's hot for him too.
Oh, and Jack and Kate have a big kiss! She was a bit distraught at the time, thinking Sawyer was possessed by her dead daddy and she ran off right after kissing him.
A non-Kate moment was Locke and Ecco watching some newfound footage from the Dharma group saying that the computer MUST NOT be used for anything other than inputting the numbers. At the end of the ep, Michael's checkin out the computer and someone types to him "hello" -- when Michael tells the mystery IMer his name, the response is "Dad?"

Well, if they have to bail Ms Rodriguez out of jail, it may take a little longer. Apparently, she and one of the other Tailes were arrested for DUI recently.
Just spouting off.
