Jin should be the first female cast member to get an Emmy nod after this ep. She showed (as usual) such range with such restraint at various moments in this show.

I heard Kate and "Hobbit Rocker" are engaged in real life.

Jin is the guy, Sun is the girl. And I totally agree. She is a terffic and very talented actress.

Okay, so I'm hooked on the other survivors. Echo certainly has the most appeal, Ana being a b%$#@ and all. Seeing Sun and Jin's story was sort of a let down, it didn't add to either one of them. And the Kate/Sawyer suggestion left me cold...

Just spouting off.

Since Lost won't be on for another two weeks here is something I ran across. Lost will introduce a manuscript that will be a plot device on the show In some corporate synergy, Hyperion Books -which is a sister company to Touchstone that produces Lost- will publish an actually complete book.

Well I guess I'll be posting what are you reading in the spring sometime...

Holy Shit! It's back, and off to a great start!

Shannon's Dad (Boone's step dad) is actually the person Jack's wife-to-be killed in the accident! HUGE, HUGE, HUGE revelation. And Jack actually passed over saving him to save her...

Poor Shannon. It's only twenty minutes in and I posted this. I really don't want her to die and will know in forty minutes if its her. I hope not. I hope none of them do to be honest...

These interconnections before the crash are much deeper than we thought I suspect. (I just realized but forgot if mentioned, that I remembered that Hurley owned Locke's box company--not sure if others caught that in season one).

Well I saw that coming a mile away, it stilled shocked the hell out of me about how it happened. Sure going to add to the tension and the drama of the show between characters. Wow.

Can't wait to see the next ep and the story of the tailies.

Well, like Vu said, not totally unexpected, but still masterfully written. The season is really rolling now. A great episode.

I'm sure next episode will try to see if they can make us feel for the other survivors and invest in their characters. The test will be if I still don't want Sayid to torture Ana Lucia.

Well written.

I know I'm holding out a false hope here, but Shannon's not dead yet.

DANG IT! I was hoping that her character would grow and learn over the years, eventually becoming one of the strongest people on the island. All I know is if they mess with Sun and Jin, I'm going over to Damon Lindehof's house... mad

NOT SHANNON! Why couldn't they have offed Claire instead???

Just read some theories about the talies and Shannon's death...

Libby could be there Ethan. -proof, Cindy was behind Libby as they climbed the wall. Cindy was actually handing things to here as they climbed, someone said that there was some sort of cave, dark shadows that were there to possbily camflouge a person

Anna Lucia did not kill Shannon. -someone else noticed and I will have to go back and watch - Only Shannon and Sayid were wet, the tailes, Micheal and Jin were dry. Shannon also had a knife wound to the gut too. A case of being in the wrong place with the wrong item?

At least we know what the other with the teddy bear is, judging from next weeks preview, one of the kids had a teddy bear.

An if Locke and Sayid don't get nomminations again for supporting actor... that look on Sayid at the end from love lost to total bent on hell revenge/grief -what great acting. And Locke's little throwaway converstaion with Charlie , priceless.

This 'death' will be scene from multiple angles t think and we will be seeing all angles of the story. Shannon's not gone yet.

Well, judging from online buzz, it looks like it's official. Dang it. I really enjoyed that character.

At least I have Rose and Bernard to look forward to. Who bets that in a triage situation between Sawyer and Shannon next week (one lives, one dies,) Sawyer wins out and that drives a wedge between Sayid and Jack?

Shannon's death was so very sudden. Maybe that was the point.

Incidentally, has anyone seen Vincent? smile

I've seen "Lost" very sparingly since it debuted. I tend to work pretty much every Wednesday night, so it was hard to get into. I could've recorded it but never got around to it. Now it's very hard to understand what's going on. Still, I do enjoy it when I see it.

My question is this: Is Shannon the girl who was pregnant when the series began? The picture I see in the articles about the death remind me of that girl. And whether she is or isn't, what happened with the kid?

Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Y'know it's a good thing I tape this show -- I almost missed seeing Jack at the hospital when Shannon's dad died.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happened to the "Tailies" (and yes, I agree that this should humanize Ana Lucia) but I hope they don't leave us dangling about Shannon's fate (although I don't have much hope from the buzz). It'd be a shame since she definitely had a lot of room for growth, but of course death isn't meant to be convenient. I'm glad they're killing central characters instead of just side ones like Arzt (and even Boone was the most expendable character) - keeps you on your toes.

Vincent will show up again, when Michael rejoins the crowd.

Shannon had to go, she didn't have a place anymore, except as Sayid's love interest. It would have been good to watch her grow, but that would mean she'd have to edge out Kate or Jack of Locke. And they are the writers' favourites.

I'm waiting to see the backstory on the Tailies. Especially Echo. It'd be great if he came and replaced Locke as the resident spiritual goofball.

Just spouting off.

well that answers if Anna Lucia really shot Shannon or not. And the answer if Libby was the plant or not. And Wendy was the stwerdess that was chasing done Charlie while the plane was crashing.

Some nice nuggets of info. Can't wait to see next weeks show.

I wonder what the relationship is between the hatch dwellers (most recently Desmond) and the Others is. Are they allied in any way? I guess Ethan Rom was one of the Others, not from the hatch but somehow he seemed a little more formidable physically than the Others who took on the tailies. After all, they took down two in the first raid and Anna Lucia accounted for another two. Ethan seemed nearly unaffected when he and Jack were fighting, or maybe Jack's just a singularly poor fighter.

Poor Nathan... that guy must've had some really irritable bowels. Two hours in the forest and a similarly long stint in the plane's toilet spelled his doom.

so more questions to ask...who really is Goodwin? He was good enough to con the others into beliveing he was on the plane. Why did he stay with them so long. What made the other nine he took so special that he didn't take these five? Why did his buddies just leave him on the stake and not bury him? It's obvious that Goodwin came from the outside world. Or at elast knew about it. Did they cause the plane to crash? Goodwin was with the tailes since they crashed. He knew that they were there. Ethan was also able to get into the main camp pretty easily until Hurley did his people count.

And Goodwin's name. Good Win. Are the others really the Good guys? Will they win?

I thought that too and it certainly plays into the whole Purgatory theory. That these could be angels taking away the good as they resolve their issues.

I still subscribe to the theory that they are going by the seat of their pants.... smile

The others attacking the tailies seemed pretty wussy compared to what we were led to expect. Of course, I guess they did wipe out half of them...

This certainly was one of the more tense episodes. We didn't get anyone's backstory, and I was hoping for a bit on either Ana (to explain her 'tude) or Echo. As it stands, I've become really fascinated with him now, and I'm eager to see he's tale.

Goodwin was able to give us some teases as to who The Others are. I'm guessing they are some remaining Dharma people, and they are sort of a high and mighty cult of goody two shoes (from their perspective) or something.

It was nice to finally see who Boone was talking to on the radio just before his personal plane crash. I never made the connection before.
