It's Gowan, I believe. He led a band by that name during the '80s. [/b]Thanks. It is Gowan. I've since bought the Cyclorama and enjoy it immensely. I was going to post a review here, but I can't get the copy-and-paste feature to work in these response fields.

I'm still currently into Erasure. They put out a cover album last year, and thought I don't normally like covers, they did a bang up job on SOlsbury HIll.
It's a great CD!

5 other bands/artistsI love:
The Police - one of my faves of all time.
Queen - Freddie baby, not the abysmall thing that is touring now.
Ah-Ha - Sentimental favorite, and I have about 5 of their albums. They did a lot afte their one hit.
Def Leppard - Pyromania and Hysteria will always be on the playlise.
GnR - Appetite for Destruction only, but that's enough. There are a few songs here and there from their other stuff, but this album just kills.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

The Smiths - Some of the most poetic lyrics ever set to music
Radiohead - In the late '90's they basically rewrote the entire rulebook of what music is capable of.
Joy Division - In just two albums they captured perhaps the most frighteningly honest portrait of a man's pain I've ever heard.
The Pixies - Now this is Rock!
The Beatles - Because... you know... the Beatles!

The Beatles - I've been a fan since 4th grade (1980 for those playing along at home) and recently re-upped my fandom with the remastered stereo box set.
The Who - My favorite since high-school. No one writes about alienation and anger the way Pete does.
Nine Inch Nails - Mixing the best of early-'80s electropop with a snarling post-punk sensibility. Trent's occasionally gone off the rails, but I always love the music.
Gary Numan - One of Trent's original inspirations and another British artist who had a much bigger career at home than abroad. A more recent discovery for me.
Those are the big four for me. Anyone else is on a lower tier.

Picking just bands that I seem to be able to listen to *anything* from;
Foreigner - classic guitar rock Scorpions - the only band I know of that sounds 10x better live than in studio Queensryche - Mindcrime! Breaking Benjamin - so angsty, so fun Three Days Grace - so angry, so fun
Dev picked a bunch of other faves of mine, like Guns N Roses and Queen, Def Leppard and the Police.

The Gear Daddies/Martin Zellar - really one in the same. A small town band from southern Minnesota.
Van Morrison - man I wish I had appreciated his work more in my younger days. It's opened up a new world of music for me.
Modest Mouse - everything I loved about Oingo Boingo and more.
Muse - they know no bounds when it comes to music. It's an incredible band that can try to cross generes, and succeed as well as they have.
The Five Stairsteps- because without Motown, there'd be so much missing intoday's music.
Just spouting off.
