"Paradise" by John Fogerty (cover of old John Prine song, previously covered by John Denver)
...also...
"Baby Should Have Known Better" by Palmyra Delran (which I've seen performed live more than a dozen times by her other band, The Friggs)

Nothing says Halloween's coming" like that Throwing Muses oldie: "Devil\'s Roof." Yep. Kristin's Still got it. ...Dance on the devil's roof Under a devil's moon I don't care And you don't move...Just for comparison purposes, here's a cover of the same song by Italian musician Carmen Consoli . That I'm grooving to this just before going to sleep probably says a great deal about how the week's gone. Oh, well.

Wow, just going back only five pages fully half of the videos linked to on youtube that are with "big music" are No Longer Available.
Way to get free promotion for your acts, people. I'd like to see some of the stuff mentioned here by people with very varied music tastes, but you might not make five cent off me. Guess that guarantees you won't make 20 bucks off the albums I might have bought either.
Sorry, crabby morning.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
Something pithy!

Saw Robyn in concert last night, so "Don't F***ing Tell Me What To Do" is my favorite song right now. Sums up my issues with authority quite nicely.
Latest favorite band: The Like
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

Sorry, crabby morning. That does suck. The labels are only hurting themselves and their artists. I rarely buy new music unless I can hear a song all the way through. Youtube is one of the sources I turn to when I'm trying to do that. If I run into a copyright issue, I'll generally think, "screw it" and move on.

Ded, I noticed the views on Youtube have jumped pretty dramatically. It's one of those songs that gets everyone moving, I suppose. (I might even have to break out the air guitar later)

Tina Turner-- "RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH"
It's funny... I've known this song for over 30 years, but until last year, I never heard the original. (I've been listeing to the one by Deep Purple!) I also LOVED it when The Friggs did it live once (with Mitzi Dodge on vocals-- BETTER than Tina, I think).
