Fallen in love with Norah Jones' cover of the Hoagy Carmichael song "The Nearness Of You", off of her superb Come Away With Me album.
I haven't heard the original, so can't compare.
Just her sensual, sexy as f*** voice and fairly minimal piano accompaniment. Very relaxing. And slightly horny.
Hic!

A co-worker of mine has really gotten me into System of a Down. This is some of the best hard rock I've heard in many years! I'm particularly into "Tentative" and "Lost in Hollywood" right now.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

SoaD is great. Been listening to their two latest albums, Hypnotize and Mezmerize, for awhile now. My latest is Godsmack's Speak. Now that the album is out I'll grab it this week.

a friend of mine really got me into this band called Within Temptaion. they're a dutch Goth rock metal band that kinda got lumped into the same grenre as Evenescence and Lacuna Coil, but they really rock i love the Song Angels, and Stand my ground. here's the link to their site: http://www.within-temptation.com/ and i'm also feeling the new David Gilmore song, sounds very Pink Floyd-ish but it has a mellow feel to it. and i love "Dani California" by the Chilli Peppers

I'm going to see "The Streets" in June and really like his new "When You Wasn't Famous".
Just heard The Kooks' "Naive" and it's really catchy...I like Brandtson's "Earthquakes And Sharks" and I'm not sure if I'm pronouning their name correctly, but Guillemots' new album is pretty interesting (check out "Trains to Brazil").

"Hate Me" by Blue October. The music isn't all that creative, but the lyrics certainly are.
I'm getting into a band called Nightwish. Anyone heard of them?
Just spouting off.

I just heard that song on the radio the other day and I thought it was GREAT! I made sure to remember the name of the band so I could find their cd or look them up in iTunes.

The album's not bad. I got so sick of the Franz Ferdinands and Strokes-type bands out there--the Arctic Monkeys are just a little bit better and more broad stylistically.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!

Love the Arctic Monkeys album, and the tracks on the "Who the F*ck are the Arctic Monkeys" EP are good as well. Still like Franz Feridnand and their kin, but done with the Strokes-type stuff.
Current favorite song, which doesn't match any of my musical tastes, and which I think is just breaking here in L.A. and is much bigger across the pond is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley... can't get it out of my head.
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

I'm looking forward to the new Rise Against albumn. The lead single, "Ready to Fall", is great just like the entire last albumn.

Pretty Vegas by INXS with new lead singer JD Fortune has been in heavy rotation in my MP3s lately. As has City of Love by Persephone's Bees (from the Bewitched soundtrack) which is funny because I heard it on a commercial for Razor phones the other day. Must have been synchronicity.

Tiga rocks my world at the moment...especially "far from home" and "you gonna want me" with Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters (who Im going to see in a few weeks ) on guest vocals
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

I've recently been getting back into my old Living Colour CDs and playing them during my long drives to and from work. They rock even harder than I'd remembered! Truly an underrated and underappreciated band who are and were still relative anomalies as a black hard rock band. "Cult of Personality" has never lost its punch. Their debut album "Vivid" is a LOT better than I'd remembered, though the followup "Time's Up" is still my favorite. "Stain", their third album, I've only listened to a handful of times since I bought it years ago, so I'm giving that one several spins.
Recently, I learned that the band got back together a few years ago and put out a fourth studio album, "Kaleidoscope". I'll definitely be hunting that one down as soon as I get a chance!
At this point, I'd say my favorite songs by them are "Cult", "Time's Up", "Elvis is Dead", "Open Letter", "Desperate People" and "Love Rears It's Ugly Head". But there's not a song on the first two CDs that I routinely skip over. Those are two kickass albums!!!
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

The Gin Blossoms have a new cd coming out, with the lead single "Learning the Hard Way."
Augustana's song "Boston" is finally getting some air time.
And I'm getting into a BoDeans revival.
Just spouting off.

Oh, and my current fav gothic painful and tortured yet funny love ballad is being played a lot but I can't remember any of the details like the band... But it is about a guy telling his lover that if she should die first and if heaven and hell won't take her that he'd follow her into the dark.....

CJ, this is the song Caroline was thinking about that she couldn't remember the name to nor the band.
I Will Follow You Into The Dark
by Death Cab for Cutie
Love of mine, some day you will die But I will be close behind I’ll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs If there’s no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I’ll follow you into the dark
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black And I held my tongue as she told me “Son fear is the heart of love” So I never went back
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs If there’s no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I’ll follow you into the dark
You and me have seen everything to see From Bangkok to Calgary And the soles of your shoes are all worn down The time for sleep is now It’s nothing to cry about Cause we’ll hold each other soon In the blackest of rooms
If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no’s on their vacancy signs If there’s no one beside you When your soul embarks Then I’ll follow you into the dark Then I’ll follow you into the dark
