"Good Boys". Yes, it's a great song.

Have ya heard Duran Duran's new song? It's hella-kewl-- a real techno-ish ditty called (iirc) "Sunrise". I think I heard this was the ORIGINAL Duran Duran lineup, too. Unfortunately, the Rhodes guy also said the rest of the cd wasn't like that song (I reckon he meant the rest of it wasn't techno-ish).

"The Ballad of Bjorn Borg" by the Pernice Brothers, the best pop (in a '60s sense) band out there today.

Ditto on: Maroon 5, Toxic.

I'm listening a lot to the last Radiohead record (still).

I've also checked out (and burned--so sue me, you bastards) all of the Bob Marley cds at the public library. I'm not necessarily into reggae in general, but Marley was such a gifted songwriter he transcends the genre.

My wife recently had a Marley phaze, where every morning I'd wake up to hear her "jammin."

I finally got ahold of Joss Stone's cd. I LOVE it!!! The music is so funky and cool. She has a great voice. Classic. I also saw the last part of VH1's Divas show. Joss (and Jessica Simpson) sang along with Gladys Knight. It was pretty darn good...

The Alt station I listen to has an afternoon DJ that likes to play songs from his I-Pod. His selection yesterday on my way home from work was Somebody Told Me by The Killers. Pretty good song. Good continuous beat to it.

Recently a song slipped under my radar and became my latest favorite.

It's EVERYBODY WANTS YOU by Josh Kelly. A meloncholy, melodious little ditty. Who the hell is Josh Kelly anyway?

Current runner-up is EXTRAORDINARY by Liz Phair.

That's wierd... The rock stations here were playing CHB while AYGBMG was still just a jingle for a Tartget commercial.

"Beautiful Night" byt the Burten Brothers (sp) is my current anthem. "I Want A Girl" by Johnny Clueless is always a guilty pleasure for me.

I like "They," by Jem and "Fool In the Rain," the Led Zep song remade by ??.

The alt. station I listen to has also been playing "Tone of the Home" by Blind Melon lately. Never heard it before. It rocks quite hard for the "No Rain" band.

Not my favorite by any means, but a new song just quirky and catchy enough to stick in my head--

"Float On" by Modest Mouse, or "The Scary Sheep Video". wink

I've caught it several times as one of MTV's Buzzworthy clips while exercising in the morning, and it grabbed my attention as something different from all the pop and mainstream rock out there. The singer reminds me of David Byrne and Roger Waters, and the jangly guitar hook and bassline get me going. Fun song.

I've been given a promo of the new Girls Aloud single - and it's BRILLIANT! It's called The Show! It goes:

HWW: Fool in the Rain is definately a Led Zeppelin song, and a candidate for my favorite song of all time!

And Yeah Yeah Yeahs fans, I think there is a live performance at the upcoming MTV video music awards...

The song is written by this guy (Matt Damon) in the movie who's been sleeping around with Scotty's girlfriend, Fiona (played by Kristin Kreuk)... laugh

Yes, but who does the remake?

The remake is by O.A.R. (...of a revolution), a group out of Columbus, OH.

Oops! I never even knew a remake existed!

Now I have to decide whether I want to hear it, or put it off, since I don't like hearing my favorite songs being covered... smile

I've only heard the full version of the remake from a live MP3. But iTunes actually has the studio version available for 99 cents. And you can hear the first couple of minutes (maybe less) of the studio version at their website: http://www.ofarevolution.com/site2003/rrpop/rrpop.html

Thanks, Scott.

I understand your concerns, Cobie. Remaking Led Zep is like standing on a building and hoping no one notices when you jump off naked.

But O.A.R.'s version is faithful to the original. In fact, it was about midway through it when I noticed there was an extra guitar part and that it wasn't Robert Plant singing.

Since we are talking remakes, what is everyone's (or anyone's) opinion of Limp Bizkit's remake of The Who's Behind Blue Eyes?

Generally I like it. The background spacey music is distracting and that weird middle section "Discover" is just maddening. Otherwise I think its a pretty decent cover.
