I've been enjoying all these off-topic music topics around here recently and was just wondering...are there any other musicians out there in Legion World?

Me, I play guitar (mostly acoustic, but some slide and occasional electric) and some ukelele! On top of that in a previous life i.e. at school, I was forced to play trombone...it was alright actually, but my only regret was not meeting Alyson Hannigan at band camp.

I can play the Star Wars them on the recorder and the theme for "Buckaroo Banzai" on the keyboard, but that's about it...

I took guitar lessons for a year and half and stil have my guitar and some sheet music. I tried to play again three years ago, but realized why I quit in the first place: No sense of rhythm.

I've actually been meaning to start a topic like this myself...

I play bass, guitar and a little mandolin. I'm okay on bass but not that great on guitar, and the mandolin isn't something I pick up very often. It's just something I do for fun, I've never been in bands much.

My band Spoonbender underwent it's thrashing, writhing death throes over the past year. Our drummer slowly receeded into the background, and breaks and delays slowly killed the whole thing.

Shame, that.

However, myself and two guys from Spoonbender got together with two new guys and are in the process of putting together a new outfit. The old Spoonbender website ( Spoonbender Homepage ) is still up, with some pictures of me and the guys, but we're only going to retain about four or five of the old SB songs.

I sing, and have resisted thus far any attempts to force me into anything silly like playing an instrument or tapping something. For a little guy, I've been told I have a big mouth.

I think there's a song on the website as well (Hook, in the Going Down section), which is a cheesy punk country rock pop fusion (!?) piece of crap that we threw together last year. If anyone's stupid enough to want to hear more, let me know.

PS What's a good name for the new band? I'd love to use something Legion related, but I'm sure I'd never get it past the other guys.

I've been told I'm pretty good on the ole' skinflute !
