That's what I was thinking exactly. I sort did get sick watching the movie.

A group of us went and enjoyed it. There was one dissenter among the 7 of us... J.J. produced it, but beyond that, you wouldn't know he had a hand in it.

The motion cam was good, more jittery than Blair Witch. It really felt more like a commentary on YouTube and cellphone videos than anything.

Just spouting off.

I just got back from seeing it and enjoyed it a lot. Seeing this thru the perspective of the "little guy" made it more suspenseful and unusual than your average monster flick. But at the same time, we got plenty of spectacle, which we didn't get with Blair Witch. The FX we got were top-notch.

Nice storyline, too...a lot of quibbles I've read dealt with the believability of what the protagonists set out to do, but I bought it. Definitely more subtext and emotional impact than the average film of this sort. As I've read, the 9/11 parallels probably make the film more effective than if it were released prior to then.

But what exactly is the "Cloverfield" in the title? Is it the section of Central Park where the movie ends up (and the video is recovered)?

Cloverfield was the government designation of the "encounter" presumably the actual monster and not the experience.

Rumour abound on the 'net about something in the final shot. Anyone else heard about it?

Just spouting off.

I didn't catch it, but apparently something, presumably the monster landing in the sea from space, can be seen in the background of the final "flashback". Also, anyone staying 'til the end of the credits could hear a brief radio announcement.

(Both of these according to the film's Wikipedia entry--said announcement wasn't transcripted in the entry, and I didn't stay because the theatre attendants were staring at me! smile )

Cloverfield is the name of the street for the office were Bad Robot is. No meaning what so ever.

Entertainment Weekly reports that there could be a sequel in the works. The two premises mentioned was a stand along movie to number 1 showing the events from another persons objective or Clover attacking another city.

I hated it. I wanted to rip my eyes out. and hurl them at the screen.

Click Here For A SpoilerI cheered out loud when the camera man died and the camera dropped to the floor. the majority of the crowd booed when it was over.

The visuals of the trailers and posters are waaay more polished than the actual movie. this is my new most hated movie. It just popped "the village" down to number two, and catwoman down to number 3.
