For those of you planning on buying the Life and Death of Ferro Lad, you may want to reconsider.

I just picked up the Superman: Kryptonite Nevermore collection this week -- and the artwork is scanned from the original comics. Yep, the quality is about as good as the pages look in the issues printed at that time (with fading). The quality of the paper is so-so. Very lackluster collection.

I'm guessing they'll do the same with the Ferro Lad stuff, but I don't know for sure. At this point, I'd recommend purchasing the Archives volume that reprinted this material.

Honestly those are a rip off anyways, $40 for how many issues? You are better off getting the Archives, more pages and high quality product (and at most $10 more)

I was very excited to see the Death of Ferro Lad collection, but on seeing the price tag and how light on material it was, I knew I would pass. Shame that DC isn't being smart about this stuff, because I would like to see more DC stuff reprinted but this is not the way to do it.

Huh? Don't they have all these scanned and cleaned up for the Archives?

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I finally opened mine. I like it! It gives it an historic feel. I already own the Archives and some of the originals, so this is different enough (aged look like the original, nicer/newer paper).
