In the latest issue we saw Val and Shady playing chess. But I assume they aren't the only Legionnaires who enjoy the game of kings.

I bet that Dawnstar is a specialist in Bird's Opening (1. f4) and the various Indian defenses.

Jeckie probably prefers the Queen's Gambit.

Dragonmage, of course, favors the Dragon variation of the Sicilian.

Quislet doesn't play chess because the pieces have an annoying tendency to explode after he moves them.

What are the other Legionnaires's chess-playing styles?

Brainy doesn't play chess. He finds it too boring and predictable.

The Galaxy is Brainiac's chessboard.
Dream Girl is his Queen
Atom Girl his Bishop
Timber Wolf his Knight
and all the Legionnaires his pawns.

Jo would have to be his Rook. Powerful and single minded. He attacks straight forward and packs quite a wallop.

Good choice. Single minded - one power at a time.
And possibly easily manipulated by Brainy.
I was leaning a little towards Garth who is also a straight ahead thinker but probably less easily manipulated.
