I have this "Insurance Industry Dinner" tonight in NYC that is this big annual get together that everyone is going to be at. EVERYONE BUT ME that is! Don't tell my boss or co-workers but I'm skipping it. I mean jeez, this is the season premiere after all, I can't watch it online the next day, my head will explode

Tonight: WOW.
From Faraday with the Dharma Iniative back in time to Locke's joining Juliet & Sawyer and everything that happened in between. WOW. Wow, wow, wow.
And that old woman...we've all been waiting...I think I had goose bumps.

We've seen her twice before IIRC, both in Desmond flashbacks. Or am I missing one? I feel like I might be.

I know she was in 1 Desmond episode in Season 3 where we found out about Desmond's timeslip after the hatch explosion. Dunno if she appeared before or since. But I think she's Faraday's mother whom Faraday told Desmond to find tonight.

Lostpedia refers to the character as Ms. Hawking . If it's Faraday's mom, he won't find her in Oxford unless...was it made clear that Des's scenes take place in the same timeframe as the O6's storyline?

Seeing Sayid get all "ninja-y" was cool.
And Neil's addition to the cast certainly fired my interest.
I have a feeling Sun wasn't being entirely honest with Kate.
Just spouting off.

I think it was awesome having Frogurt show up after hearing about him several times in Season 3. I figured he'd pull a Dr. Artz but it was cool nonetheless.
I'm so excited about this episode(s). There's so much to talk about, that I don't know where to start.
I also love when Locke has entrances like he did at the end of part 2. Shot in the face! Knife in the back! Out of the shadows, pulls it out, looks rather grim. "Hello James. Juliet." I felt like a 10 year old kid. AWESOME.

I kept waiting for the next time shift! I was curious as to why our cast time-travelled but apparently not the island itself or the Others. More confusing since we saw the island disappear. Still very cool.
So who shot the firey arrows? The Others? The pre-Dharma-takeover Hostiles?
And who were those soldier-types who Locke rescued Sawyer and Juliet from?
Looks like the time shifts will be ket to us learning more about the island's mysteries: The Black Rock, the four-toed statue, etc.
And Faraday in the opening minutes--too cool!

I know, the possibilities are so wide open now. We can see Danielle arrive on the island (getting the long promised Danielle episode), learn about the Hostiles-->Others history, find out much more about the Dharma Iniative, get some real info on Richard Alpert and yes, the four-toed statue has to be the most obscure/coolest mystery of them all! Several observations / ideas: (1) Faraday likely may have time-traveled before - thereboy screwing up his memory and also possibly explaining why he was so upset when he learned of Oceanic's crash. (2) Adam & Eve - Faraday and Charlotte? (3) I so thought instead of Desmond it might be Kelvin or even the mystery Razinsky who might open the hatch door. (4) Is Richard Alpert traveling backwards in time? Or all over the place? He gives Locke the compass, and now Locke is supposed to give it to him. At some point he has it way back when Locke is a boy in the late 50's/early 60's... (5) I'm so glad we'll see some more on the Dharma Iniative. It was starting to look like they might be only peripherly in the series from here on. (6) Miles killing that boar--maybe Boone helped? (7) Ana Lucia - so cool of her to come back and do that. I want Mr. Eko to come back so bad now! (8) We kind of know how Whidmore found out the location of the island, via the history of the Black Rock, but there's so much more to know. Was Whidmore on the island first? (everything you have, you took from me Benjamin). Did the Hostiles originally come from Magnus Hanzo, the Captain of the Ship of the Black Rock? Or did he somehow get away (or someone else on the ship) and the diary/captain's log/whatever it was became the way Dharma and then Whidmore both found out about the island.

(9) The voices - Sawyer, Rose, Bernard, Juliet, etc. all watching the past happen in the shadows if they ever get some level of control of their time traveling? Could be creepy cool!

I think I read somewhere that Eko would be back. Not sure.
I was a fan of Ana Lucia, so I enjoyed seeing her again! Hopefully, Libby will be coming soon. More Charlie, too!
Hmmm...the soldiers had an English accent. They could very well have been working for Widmore.
I was wondering about Desmond and him opening the back door. Yes, he had the radiation suit, but had Kelvin already died, or was Kelvin on one of his outdoor forays? If the former, then Des would have known the outdoors were habitable. If the latter, I don't think Des ever ventured outside before knowing the truth.
So...we also see Ethan and we see Yemi's plane crash. Nice! I wonder if Sawyer and the others are going to run into themselves and the other survivors in the past?

My brother-in-law pointed this out to me. You know when Ethan shoots Locke in the leg? Perhapst his explains why in Season 1, Locke's leg suddenly start to hurt and he can't walk, and therefore Boone has to climb up to the plane? It could be right around the same time. So Locke is shot in that time period, and his then 'normal time' self suffers the injury too. Really cool! It makes total sense.

Oh yeah and the British accent soldier guys? Maybe Rosseau's crew? Meaning the idea of the Losties being the original Hostiles gains a little more gumption...

Well Charlotte had the bloody nose, I don't hold out hope for her long term survival. I thought Rose and Bernard, after a LONG life, would make a good Adam & Eve.

I think Rose & Bernard would be the perfect choice myself. I've been hoping on that since Bernard's intro (as I bet you and many others might have).

There's some solace to be taken in that Jin's actor, Daniel Dae Kim, is still listed in the regular cast credits. Maybe tonight's all Islanders episode will feature a reunion.

Oh yeah. We're cooking now. So much to discuss as always.
But:
(1) Whidmore - wow oh wow. So many theories coming together. Does Whidmore become the 'Ben before Ben' after all?
(2) "You and Charlie are my life" - that line made the episode. I suddenly found myself a little blurry eyed.

I believe there is a falling out, and Whidmore gets the boot, he spends the rest of his life trying to get back to the island and exacting his revenge upon Richard. I wonder if the army that arrived that was wiped out, were there survivors that were recruited by Richard?

This was such a fun episode. And I didn't even miss the Oceanic 6. Widmore on the island. Widmore off the island.
Oh, and watching the clip from last week with Sun and Kate, I think Sun at a minimum is exploiting Kate's situation, setting her up to kill Ben. She must know something of Kate's past by now, she alludes to Kate being willing/able to do "anything." Too bad. I liked Sun alot. I hope she steps back from the edge.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"
