Has anyone else had major lag issues with the Arachnos Base tileset? I have absolutely no issues on my machine but there seems to be spots within my mission that jacks my CPU up to 100%.

Just curious if it's me or not.

Nope, it's not just you. I've seen threads about the lag in the CoH and CoV forums since CoV beta and have definitely experienced it myself. Since they haven't fixed it, Statesman must think it adds to the fun.

Thanks Seymour. I can't get to the official forums from work so I was unaware of it although not having this problem in CoH was pretty telling.

For the most part, I have benn relatively unaffected by it as my stalker can stealh through but it is very annoying and I wanted to make sure it wasn't my graphics card or something.

Hey, everyone.

I was at the tailor shop in St Martial in
COV to see what Spacey would look like in
a carnie outfit, and I noticed that I was
being offered a free costume ... now I
used her free costume earlier that we were
promised, so I don't know if this is part
of the Christmas stuff or if there's a bug
where you don't have to pay for costumes
right now...

Might want to check it out...

Marvel/NcSoft settle lawsuit . No idea on what the settlement was but, from the article, it appears Marvel was headed for a big loss.

The Christmas event has started on CoV and CoH! Not sure what it is but there is a helicopter in ATlas Plaza recruiting willing participants of all levels.

Anyone want to play hero tonight? laugh

On the CoH side it's recovering christmas present stolen by Arachnos. Takes place against Mu Strikers and Arachnos Wolf soldiers in that indoor lab (with the lag) from CoV.

Blue says the CoV side is fighting Longbow agents. I imagine that's how the presents get stolen laugh

Well, I was actually going to join you, but I started the download half an hour ago, and it's not even halfway done. Maybe this weekend. I gotta get everyone their presents!

Wah hoo...

In spite of the fact that Protector is all
buggered up thanks to the latest patch, I
still manaaged to get Space Cadet. to 40!

I was going to play her for the prestiege,
but the amount she gets is so tiny that i
think i'd be better off playing a lil alt
to the sg instead of her...

but the main thing is, she hit 40! 8-)

Thank you Seymour.

Oh, one other thing.

I played Star Kallor last night and did the
Christmas mission for him.

I just wanted to congrats Vee and anyone
else who's worked on the Infinity SG base.
It's VERY well done!

Sweet -- I'll have to go take a look. I was going to hop on and see what was what during a break between batches of cookies, but now it's downloading something.

Sigh.

Woops -- sorry, guys. I was wrong about the second wave patch. They did do a second stage patch, but I didn't see the date on the thread -- 12/15. Looks like the hat and the rocket packs are it.

Well I logged in and did the holiday mission for both Shvaughn and Gung. Very boring. Changed Shvaughn's original costume into a holiday one but did nothing for Gung. He has 3 costume changes for free built up now and I refuse to use them until they give the heroes access to some of the other options. I want a lab coat!

I did the Christmas mission with a bunch of my
toons yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised
that Star Kallor was able to solo his mission.
As long as he only has to face the traditional
3 baddies at a time, he does okay. I might see
if I can play him some more and see how he
holds up. He didn't even see to need stamina
all that much either ... a good thing as he
doesn't have it. 8-)

On the other hand, Xs Ive was running out
all the time.

As for Blue Boulder, I remembered why I
switched from him to Spacey: he barely has
the end to fight 3 goodies at a time. He
was able to finish his mission, but he had
to stop several times to build up end
again.

I'm thinking about running Blue on the
mission, but I'm going to have to ED him
a bit before I try. Was accuracy nerfed
to where you NEED two SOs or is that
just something people do for lack of
anything better to put in the slot?

With the recharge time on his attacks,
I'm going to need to put in at least
one recharge, and I was thinking of
using two if I don't need an extra
accuracy SO ...

And Scott, I want a duster for Blue!

Blue, it's been my opinion that are MAJOR accuracy bugs in CoV. None of my heroes seem to miss as much as my stalker does.

Blue, I haven't noticed a difference in accuracy. I have 3 damage, 1 accuracy, 1 end reduction, & 1 recharge reduction in my 6 slotted powers (on Condo) along with 3 slotted stamina and no hasten and he does just fine, even at +1. His end usage is a non-issue unless he's blasting away constantly for an extended period (like battling an AV.) But has always been true even when he had 6 slotted stamina.

At +2 I definitely begin to notice an accuracy issue but that's normal as well.

The worst case I have experienced was against a white minion where I missed seven times in a row.

In a one one one fight, the most I have counted was 12 but there was the occassional hit in there.

Playing Gung last night (solo as usual) for the X-Mas mission was quick. Never really ran low on END except when he used his nove-esque power by accident. It had been so long since I used him I had forgotten my slotting (I use the number keys to trigger my powers as clicking on them doesn't seem to work half the time). His accuracy seemed same as before for an Elec/Elec blaster. I've only noticed the accuracy bug in CoV.

And I think these X-Mas missions are meant to be soloable. Like I said, they were quick and rather boring. No bosses or even Lt's. At least for me and I cleaned out both Gung's and Shvaughn's of baddies after getting the gifts.

PARAGON CITY, RI, Dec. 19, 2005 – Paragon City awoke this morning to disturbing signs of a trickster planting “holiday gifts” throughout our fair city. Several billboards were spotted that had been vandalized - their proper images covered with a menacing logo of a red rook, and sporting the message:

The Gamester has a list, and he’s checking it twice!
Have you been naughty?! Or have you been nice?!

A matching logo appeared on thousands of pamphlets that were scattered in Atlas Park and Galaxy city, and were even plastered all over the Arenas.

The message appears to relate to a pirate broadcast that broke across all of Paragon City’s radio frequencies early this morning at 6:00 a.m. (EST). The transmission, which lasted for approximately one minute, was an unidentified male voice:

Hello holiday revelers! I interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you, drum roll please, the holiday event you have all been

waiting for! That's right ladies and gentlemen, I have created the grandest game ever played!

Have you been naughty?! Or have you been nice?! Come find out what fate has in store for you! Tear open as many presents as you dare and unleash their inner secrets. Maybe you will win a fantabulous surprise! But beware, you may also be dealt a dangerous blow from an old winter friend! Its all part of the Gamester’s Holiday Festival of Fun!

The broadcast ended with hysterical laughter, which slowly faded into static before regular broadcasting resumed.

There have also been several unconfirmed reports of large “presents” - packages decorated with holiday wrapping paper - spotted on rooftops and in alleyways. Citizens should be wary of such devices and report them to the PPD or your local neighborhood registered hero at once.

One of the presents contained the Winter Lord Minion laugh

You either get Naughty or nice presents. Nice so far are those Xmas inspirations from last year, naughty is a group of Winter Lord frostlings to fight. Their level seems to depend on the level of the area in which you find the present.

EDIT: Servers are getting disconnected around 7:30 PM EST to fix the terrible trouble with mapserves. Hope they get it patched quickly.
